The dream seemed to last forever.

After what felt like an eternity, Skylar finally woke up. Seeing the familiar surroundings of the Galaxy Villa, she realized that what she had just experienced was probably the fate of the Williams family and Christopher in her past life.

If it weren’t for her rebirth, these people would have faced consequences for their actions in the previous life. She wiped the cold sweat from her forehead and noticed she was slick with sweat.

She took another shower.

When she came out of the bathroom, she felt refreshed. ‘Then she saw that it was already 5:00 pm.

Christopher’s suicide must have triggered the dream. She gathered her thoughts and went downstairs to prepare dinner.

However, as soon as she was downstairs, she spotted Joe sitting on the couch. She wasn’t sure when he had returned.

Hearing footsteps, Joe looked up and said, “I had the chef come over from Pearlhall Residence to prepare dinner. It’s ready. Are you hungry?”

Skylar noticed the aroma of food and realized a meal was ready. “I’m not very hungry yet.”

She sat down opposite Joe. Glancing toward the kitchen, she saw no one there. The chef from Pearlhall Residence must have just left.

Skylar hadn’t heard any noise while sleeping and showering in her room.

Seeing Skylar’s still–pale face, Joe frowned and asked, “Are you still not feeling well? Should we go to the hospital?”

“It’s probably just the unsettling dream I had. I didn’t sleep well, but I’m fine. There’s no need for the hospital.” She knew her face looked a bit off. The impact of her dream had been too strong for her. Owned by NôvelDrama.Org.

While she was still half awake, she had thought she might never wake up again. She even wondered if everything she was experiencing now was just another dream from her past life.

The feeling of helplessness was terrifying. Joe got up and poured a glass of hot tea. Then, she handed it to Skylar. “Drink some hot tea.”

“Thank you.” Skylar took a small sip.

The warmth seemed to chase away some of the cold she felt.

The next day, Skylar went to work and saw Caleb waiting for her outside.

“The incident from yesterday won’t happen again. Christopher committed suicide.”

Caleb’s eyes widened in shock when he heard about Christopher’s suicide. “Suicide? He actually dared to do that? Though, it’s not surprising. Someone like him, who could engage in kidnapping and human trafficking, ending his own life isn’t so shocking.”

Caleb had been terrified when he learned that Christoper had kidnapped Skylar. He was worried that the situation might be like last time.

Even Caleb thought Christopher didn’t have the guts to commit suicide, and Skylar could tell that too.

After knowing Christopher for so many years, Skylar believed he was capable of committing crimes, but suicide was something he would only consider if he were completely out of options.

Someone must have threatened him or coerced him to ensure he didn’t reveal any more information.

“Let’s go to work,” Skylar said, putting her thoughts away.

Having missed work yesterday, she needed to catch up on everything. With only half a month left, she had a lot to do.

In the morning, Joe had informed her that the time had been confirmed and that Paul had booked their flight tickets.

So, she could set aside other matters for now. After Christopher’s suicide, even if that person wanted to cause her trouble, it wouldn’t happen so quickly. They would have to wait a while longer.

Vera arrived at Justin’s place.
