Skylar gripped her phone tightly. At that moment, her ears seemed to hear nothing at all.

“We can wait for Mr. Ziegler to return. Once he’s physically better, he might remember more,” Jeremy said, noticing Skylar’s silence and understanding the weight of the blow she was feeling.

“But my dad… He and my mom have always seemed so loving since I can remember. They rarely even argue. I can’t believe that my dad, who loves my mom so much, would want to divorce her for another woman.

“Do you think that mistress might be using some sort of negative item?” Vera’s voice sounded uncertain as she spoke.

Skylar could tell that Vera’s suspicion was mostly speculation. She wasn’t sure about the

situation.

Skylar quickly pieced together the situation from Vera’s anxious explanation.

After a few more questions, she concluded, “We can’t determine if a negative item is involved, but based on what you said, your father has been seeing someone for a while. It doesn’t seem like it’s related to a negative item.”
