An hour later, there was another knock on the door.

Skylar and Natalie were already watching a series that they had projected onto the wall.

“Is it the food delivery?” Natalie guessed. She had just ordered more food. But could the delivery really be this fast? She had just placed the order.

“I’ll get it,” Skylar said, getting up before Natalie and heading over to the door.

When she opened the door, Skylar was stunned that it wasn’t the delivery person but Helena.

Helena looked anxious and was equally surprised to see Skylar open the door instead of Natalie. “Is Ms. Jakeman here?”

“She is. What do you need her for?” Skylar recovered from her surprise. How did Helena know where Natalie lived?

Natalie was curious after seeing Skylar talking to someone at the door. So, she walked over. “Is something wrong?”

But as soon as she spoke, she saw Helena and was taken aback. “Ms. Hart? How did you find my place?”

Apart from their brief encounter at the hotel abroad, she hadn’t had any other interactions

with Helena.

“It was Mr. Hughes who told me. He was in a car accident and is currently in the hospital for emergency treatment. Before he lost consciousness, he mentioned you. Can you come with me to the hospital?” Helena’s voice was filled with urgency, and her eyes glistened with tears.

It was clear that she was genuinely worried about Jeremy.

However, Jeremy had just visited them about an hour earlier.

Since Helena was the first person to learn about the accident, it meant that she was with him when it happened.

Natalie frowned, feeling worried. “How is he now?”

“Someone driving in the wrong direction crashed into Mr. Hughes‘ car. I happened to be driving by at the time and saw it. I can’t give you all the details now because I rushed here to find you before I could get any answers,” Helena sputtered, her anxiety evident.

“Alright, which hospital‘ is it? I’ll get changed and head there immediately,” Natalie said.

After telling them the hospital name, Helena left in a hurry, eager to get back to the hospital.

Skylar watched her rush away, her gaze darkening slightly. Then, after Natalie had changed

her clothes, Skylar drove her to the hospital.

They arrived almost at the same time as Helena. So, they walked through the entrance and made their way inside together.

Natalie immediately walked over. “Dad, Mom.“–

“Natalie…”

Eleanor quickly stood up and grasped Natalie’s hand tightly. “We’re glad you’re here. Jeremy will be alright.”

Skylar, watching from the side, wasn’t surprised by how close Jeremy’s parents were to Natalie. In their eyes, she was like a daughter to them.

It seemed that they still hadn’t come to terms with Natalie and Jeremy’s divorce.

Out of the corner of her eye, Skylar noticed Helena standing nearby. Seeing how closely Jeremy’s parents were with Natalie made Helena tense, and her face turned pale.

Morton was the first to notice Skylar and Helena. He looked a little puzzled.

So, Natalie quickly introduced them. “This is Skylar Sullivan, my friend. And this is… Helena Hart, a friend of Jeremy’s.”

“Hello, Mr. and Mrs. Hughes,” Skylar greeted them.

Helena bit her lip slightly, looking somewhat nervous. “Hello, Mr. and Mrs. Hughes.”

From Natalie’s introduction, the couple picked up on the nuances.

When they arrived at the hospital, the nurse mentioned that a female celebrity accompanied Jeremy in the ambulance.

It must have been her.

The couple exchanged a glance. Both seemed to understand the situation.
