Rowan’s behavior showed he either couldn’t let go of Minerva or felt guilty toward her.

“Minerva has her own aspirations,” Skylar said.

Rowan’s voice softened, as if he was crying or deeply upset. “I was really a jerk. I chased after my so–called crush and ended up hurting Minerva. She has no reason to forgive me so easily and doesn’t have to.”

Skylar didn’t know how to comfort him. After all, it was his fault. He didn’t cherish Minerva when he had the chance, only to regret it after hurting her deeply and then expecting forgiveness. Têxt © NôvelDrama.Org.

How was that possible? Some people might easily forgive such hurt, but Minerva was clearly not one of them. If Skylar were in her shoes, she wouldn’t forgive Rowan either. He deserved it.

Realizing Skylar wasn’t responding, Rowan caught on that he had lost his composure, However, he had no one else to turn to and knew that Skylar was close to Minerva.

Then, Rowan added awkwardly, “I can wait for her, no matter how long. If need be, I’ll study abroad too.”

Skylar became exasperated and didn’t know what to say. “I’ve got things to do. Think it through yourself, and don’t hurt Minerva again.”

Despite everything, she felt the need to give him this advice.

Rowan just responded, “I wouldn’t dare hurt her again. I just want her to forgive me. Also, don’t plan on marrying anyone else I’ll wait for her!”

Skylar’s lips twitched in disbelief. She was relieved Rowan was talking to her and not to Minerva. If she heard his words, she might have rolled her eyes.

After hanging up, Skylar called Vera. She answered almost immediately.

“Well? Can you help me? Name your price.”

Skylar replied, “One million. The statue is indeed cursed, but it’s not too dangerous. It won’t kill you, but it won’t grant your wishes either. At most, you’ll run into some bad luck.”

“Really? You’re not lying to me?” Vera sounded doubtful.

Skylar then replied, “Find someone else if you don’t believe me. I’ve got other things to do.”

In truth, Skylar didn’t like Vera and preferred to avoid dealing with her. If it weren’t for the cursed statue, she wouldn’t care about Vera’s situation at all.

“Wait! I trust you. You’re the only one I can rely on. I don’t want to keep this cursed thing for another day. Can you help me today? I’ll transfer the money to you right now,” Vera said

urgently.

She hadn’t expected Molly to be right. While the statue wasn’t harmful, just knowing it was cursed made her feel uneasy whenever she thought about or saw it.

Furthermore, Skylar’s asking price was surprisingly reasonable. Getting rid of such a heavy burden for that price seemed like a good deal.

“Bring the statue to the library on Cedar Road. We’ll meet in an hour,” Skylar said, setting the meeting point.

Vera had initially wanted Skylar to come to her house as she didn’t want to leave.

After witnessing Molly’s car accident, the scene had left her shaken, and she had developed a lingering sense of fear.

But Skylar was firm, so Vera had no choice but to go out. Fortunately, the library wasn’t far from her house.

An hour later, Skylar arrived at the library. After parking, she went inside.

Vera arrived a few minutes later.
