Richest Mogul 1104
Chapter 1104
Joe arrived at the club shortly. A few friends were already there, including Rowan.
However, Jeremy usually didn’t bring anyone with him, but today, he had brought someone along–an actress named Helena.
Helena was quite timid, sitting next to Jeremy without saying much, and there was no hint of intimacy between them.
Most of the others had female companions around them. With Joe’s arrival, the atmosphere shifted. Apart from Jeremy and Rowan, everyone else became stiff.
The lively chatter from moments before suddenly faded into silence. Rowan had consumed quite a bit of alcohol and hadn’t brought anyone to keep him company.
In the past, Rowan always had someone by his side on occasions like this, except when he was with Jenny.
Rowan and Jenny hadn’t been together long, but his departure from the Jakeman family for Jenny caused quite a stir in Jipsburg City. Everyone was talking about it, and they all regarded Jenny as someone quite capable.
But
pectedly, they had split up not long after.
Some friends had even called a female celebrity to Rowan, but he seemed heartbroken over Jenny and turned down the offer without a second thought. He knew how others perceived him lately, yet he didn’t mind.
Upon seeing Joe, he said, “Come sit with me.

Joe walked over.
Seeing Joe arrive, Jeremy asked, “So, are you really with Lizzie?”
He had once cared deeply for Skylar, but now he seemed able to move on so easily with someone new. This sense of ease was something he admired and wanted to learn from.
He also wondered how Joe had managed to let go of Skylar so effortlessly.
Those in the club understood that some topics were best left unspoken. However, the news media had been reporting extensively on Joe and Lizzie. She had become a hot topic, receiving invitations from various variety shows. Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.
These opportunities made other actresses in the entertainment industry jealous. None were as fortunate as Lizzie, who had garnered attention and was engaged to Joe. Most of them were merely playthings for powerful men.
“Yeah,” Joe replied tersely.
“That’s good to hear.” Jeremy chuckled lightly.
There was a hint of self–deprecation in his laughter. It seemed he was the only one who couldn’t let go. Besides him, Helena sensed Jeremy’s mood shift and recognized that this influential figure in their circle still had feelings for his ex–wife.
Now that he had seen Joe move on from Skylar, she wondered if he could ever be able to forget
Natalie.
As they continued to drink, the conversation remained light, with no significant topics being
discussed.
Then, someone suddenly mentioned Vera. “I saw Vera a couple of days ago. She’s changed a lot. We all thought she would be the one getting engaged to you.”
After a few drinks, people were more willing to say what they really thought, even if they wouldn’t have dared to when sober.
“Yeah, Mr. Martin, Vera even posted on Instagram about a trip to Fachington with you. She seemed to imply that something was brewing between you two. But Lizzie looks more suited for you.”
In truth, the mention of Vera was mostly meant as a joke. Privately, they all had their opinions
about Vera.
Previously, they thought Vera had an air of aloofness about her. Yet, because of the Ruell family’s status and Joe’s connections, they had kept their thoughts to themselves.
In reality, the person Joe truly cared about wasn’t Vera at all. Reflecting on this, it became clear that many things had merely stemmed from their own speculations.
Joe shot a cold glance at the two who were talking. That look instantly made them pale and fall silent.
