Richest Mogul 1097

Chapter 1097

The driver drove the car, so Joe and Skylar sat in the back.

As soon as Skylar got in, she fell asleep and didn’t wake up, even after they had reached home. She remained asleep throughout the night, only waking up the following day.

She felt a little disoriented when she opened her eyes and looked around the room.

Wasn’t she at Minerva’s place?

While she was still confused, à few fragments of memory flashed through her mind. She remembered that Joe had picked her up from Minerva’s place the night before.

Thankfully, she didn’t have a headache.

Joe wasn’t beside her.

She glanced at the time and saw that it was already seven in the morning. So, she got out of bed and walked out of the bedroom.

The aroma of chicken soup filled the air, drawing her straight to the kitchen. Sure enough, she saw Joe busy frying some eggs.

She assumed someone from the family residence had brought over the soup, but to her surprise, Joe had cooked it.

“You know how to make chicken soup now?”

Upon hearing her, Joe glanced over at Skylar. “You’re awake?”

Seeing the surprise on her face, he smiled and continued, “I asked Edgar. It’s not that hard.”

Joe had once been someone who couldn’t even cook oatmeal. Now, he could even cook chicken soup. That was impressive.

When he opened the pot, the rich aroma of the soup wafted out. After drinking the night before, it was best to have something easy to digest in the morning.

“It smells so good. I’m hungry,” Skylar said as she reached for a bowl to serve herself some soup.

Seeing this, Joe said, “You sit and wait, I’ll get it.”

Skylar didn’t refuse and sat down with a smile while nodding. “Okay.”

She couldn’t help but look at Joe in the kitchen. It was rare to see this side of him–he looked incredibly handsome working in the kitchen.

Joe brought out two bowls of soup and noticed Skylar had been watching him until now. His lips curled into a smile as he teased, “Have you realized you’ve fallen in love with me?”

“Don’t flatter yourself. I’m just thinking you’ve been taking good care of me lately. So, marrying you might have been the right decision after all,” she quickly said, lowering her head to drink her soup.

Joe’s intense gaze was tempting and captivating.

A woman a few years younger probably wouldn’t be able to resist a man like him and would easily fall for

him.

Joe raised his cold, sharp eyebrows and looked down at her with a mischievous smile. “Taking care of

people isn’t all I’m good at. You, of all people, should know what else I’m capable of.”

Skylar’s heart skipped another beat.

“Joe Martin!

“That’s exactly how you called me the other night. I liked it.”

Skylar was rendered speechless. She wished for Joe to stop talking.

Joe was such a jerk.

Two hours later, Skylar dragged her exhausted legs into the bathroom. If Paul hadn’t called about an important meeting, she doubted she could even get out of bed that morning.

Joe was a gentleman on the outside but a villain on the inside.

Skylar soaked in the bathtub for half an hour before the soreness in her waist and legs finally eased a little.
