Richest Mogul 1086
Chapter 1086
Rowan had never been easy to talk to, especially today when he was in a bad mood. Whoever was calling him had better be prepared.
“Rowan, if you don’t come now, I’ll jump!” The call was cut off right after the caller had finished that
sentence.
Then, Rowan received a video from Jenny. She was standing on top of a tall building. The wind blew her hair around as she stood on the rooftop’s edge. She could just fall off the building just by leaning forward.
Jenny spoke in the video, “I’m on the top of the Jakeman Corp. building. Rowan, this time, I’m not joking.”
Rowan stared wide–eyed at Jenny in the video and turned to Joe. “Jenny is crazy!”
Joe had seen the video too–Paul had sent it to him.
“Let’s go take a look,” Joe said.
Rowan had already stood up by then.
Although he had no feelings for Jenny anymore and had been hurt, he knew he couldn’t just stand by and watch her die. As much as it annoyed him, it was still partly his fault.
Joe drove today.
This wasn’t the first time Rowan had been in Joe’s car. Although he had a driver, he would still drive himself sometimes. Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.
In the past, Joe drove like a racer. But today, Rowan noticed he was driving steadily, not fast at all. He felt odd and asked, “Why are you driving so slowly?”
It wasn’t like Joe’s usual style at all.
Joe glanced at Rowan and said, “Unlike you, I’m not alone.”
He had a family and a wife. So he wouldn’t engage in risky driving anymore.
Rowan was stunned. “What do you mean by that? You just got divorced and engaged again, right?”
Was Joe really so invested in his new fiancée? That didn’t seem too fair to Skylar.
Rowan felt uncomfortable with that. Skylar was such a great woman, but she ended up with a heartless guy like Joe. It was bad luck for her.
However, Rowan just kept his thoughts to himself and grumbled internally.
“Do you think Jenny will really jump? I feel like it’s just another one of her stunts.”
Rowan was mostly sober now and thinking more clearly. He could look at his relationship with Jenny more objectively.
Even though she threatened to jump, he wasn’t that worried.
Knowing her personality, it seemed unlikely she would truly want to die. This was probably just a stunt to get what she wanted.
Joe glanced at the traffic light ahead and slowly came to a stop. “She won’t jump.”
Rowan nodded and said, “I think so too.”
Soon, they arrived at the Jakeman Corp.’s building.
It was late, and there weren’t many people on the streets.
The building was tall, so no one noticed what was happening on the rooftop. Jenny probably didn’t want to cause too much commotion as well, so she hadn’t alerted anyone on the streets.
As Joe and Rowan were about to enter the building, they suddenly heard Skylar’s voice behind them.
“Wait, I’ll go up with you.”
Skylar had been surprised when she received a call from Jenny, but a life was at stake. She couldn’t just stand by and do nothing.
Joe turned to look at Skylar and asked, “She called you too?”
“Yes,” Skylar answered as she walked over.
Rowan’s eyes darted back and forth between the two of them. They didn’t look like a divorced couple. A couple who divorced or broken up wouldn’t be this calm seeing each other, would they?
