I frantically asked the maids I encountered, but none of them knew where he was. Anxiety twiste my insides tighter with every passing second.
As I turned a corner, I nearly collided with Luca’s butler, a stern–looking man who always seemed to know everything happening in the pack house.
“Where is Luca?” I blurted out, breathless and desperate.
He gave me a measured look, recognizing the urgency in my voice. “He’s at the training grounds, he said, pointing in the direction I needed to go. “You’d better hurry.”
Without a moment’s hesitation, I sprinted towards the training grounds, my fear and worry propelling me forward.
The gravel crunched under my feet as I raced through the grounds, my mind racing with worst- case scenarios. The thought of Luca fighting for me, potentially getting hurt or worse, filled me
with dread.
Finally, I reached the training grounds and saw a crowd gathered, their faces a mix of concern and curiosity.
Pushing my way through, I spotted Luca in the centre, facing off against an opponent. My heart sank when I realised who it was. Nolan.
Luca moved with a fierce determination, his muscles rippling with every calculated strike. Nolan, equally matched, responded with brutal precision. The air was thick with tension, each clash of their bodies resonating with the stakes of the fight.
“Stop!” I screamed, my voice cracking. But my plea was lost in the din of the crowd and the intensity of the combat.
I pushed forward, trying to get closer, but strong hands held me back. “Let me through! Please, I have to stop this!” I cried, struggling against the restraint.
Just then, Luca’s eyes flickered towards me, a momentary distraction that Nolan tried to exploit. But Luca, with a deft move, blocked the attack, his focus returning to the fight.
Seeing Luca like this, risking everything, I knew I had to do something drastic. With all the strength I could muster, 1 broke free from the hold and stumbled into the clearing, placing myself between them.

“Enough!” I shouted, my voice carrying a desperate edge.
Both men froze, their eyes locked on me. The crowd hushed, tension hanging in the air. “This has to stop.” I said, my voice trembling. “No one needs to get hurt over this.”
Luca’s eyes softened, his stance relaxing slightly. Nolan, however, remained rigid, his eyes burning with an intensity that chilled me.
“This fight is pointless,” I continued, addressing both of them. “There are other ways to resolve this. Please, don’t do this.”
Luca was the first to stop, agreeing with me. Nolan glared at me, his jaw clenched. But after a tense moment, he too lowered his guard, albeit reluctantly.
The tension in the air dissipated slightly as the crowd began to disperse, murmuring amongst themselves. I stood there, heart racing, as Luca approached me.
“Are you alright?” he asked, his voice gentle and eyes softening.

I nodded, feeling a wave of relief wash over me. But deep down, I knew this was just the beginning. There were still so many unresolved issues, so many dangers lurking. But for now, I was grateful that the immediate threat had passed, and that Luca was safe.
Nolan narrowed his eyes at Luca and me, his expression hardening with a mixture of hatred and disdain. The silence stretched taut between us, and then he let out a hiss of a laugh that sent a shiver down my spine.
It was a sound laced with pure malice, and the sheer malevolence in his
churn.

“You’re quite the whore, aren’t you?” Nolan spat, his voice dripping with venom. “Snaking your way into the innocent Luca’s life, just like your kind always do.”
I felt Luca stiffen beside me, his protective instincts flaring up, but I was too shocked to move or speak. Nolan’s words sliced through the air, each one more vicious than the last.
“You make people trust you and then you stab them in the back,” he continued, his gaze burning into me. “Isn’t that right? It’s in your blood.”
My mind reeled, trying to clue why he was so filled with hatred and why he was spewing such accusations.

The weight of his animosity was almost suffocating, and I felt a cold sweat break out across my skin. Luca stepped forward, placing himself slightly in front of me, his posture tense and ready to defend.

Nolan’s lips twistedt into a sneer. “You think you know her. Luca? You don’t. She and her kind are poisonous. They’ll ruin you, just like they ruin everything they touch.”
I opened my mouth to protest, to defend myself, but no words came out. The intensity of Nolan’s hatred left me speechless. I couldn’t fathom where this deep–seated animosity came from, what past grievances fueled his fury.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” I finally managed to say, my voice shaky. “I’ve done nothing to deserve this”
Nolan’s eyes blazed with a fury that seemed almost otherworldly. “You lie,” he snarled. “You lie, just like the rest of them. But I’ll make sure everyone sees you for what you truly are.”
The crowd had not completely dispersed, and now whispers started up again, rippling through those still gathered. I felt their eyes on me, judging, questioning, and it made my skin crawl.
Luca’s hand found mine, squeezing it gently in reassurance. “You don’t have to listen to him,” he murmured. his voice a steady anchor in the storm of emotions swirling around me.
But Nolan’s words had already left their mark, a festering wound in my psyche.
I had no idea what history or misunderstanding fueled his accusations, but I knew one thing for certain: Nolan’s hatred was a dangerous thing, and it had put a target squarely on my back.
Luca turned to face Nolan fully, his eyes hard. “This ends now,” he said firmly. “Whatever your issues are, you deal with them elsewhere. I won’t have you spewing lies and causing chaos in pack.”

Nolan’s sneer deepened, and he turned, pulling me along with him. The sight of Luca standing his ground struck a chord of fear and anger deep within me.
“She’s not going anywhere with you, Nolan,” Luca said, his voice a low, dangerous growl. “You have no right to take her.”
Nolan shot him a look of pure disdain. Try and stop me,” he challenged, his grip on me tightening. I felt terrified, my eyes wide with fear as I glanced back at Luca.
Luca stepped forward, his eyes blazing with defiance. “I won’t let you take her,” he said firmly.
Nolan’s eyes narrowed, and for a moment, it seemed as if he might lash out. But then he laughed, a cold, mirthless sound. “You really think you can stop me? I’d like to see you try.
Luca’s stance was unwavering, his body radiating a protective energy. “You’re not taking her,” he repeated, his voice a steely command.
For a moment, the tension hung thick in the air, a tangible force pressing down on all of us. Then, with a sudden, violent motion, Nolan shoved Luca aside, yanking me along with him as he strode away.

“Luca!” I called out, my voice trembling with fear and desperation. But Luca was already moving, his eyes locked on Nolan.
I stood there, feeling as though the ground had shifted beneath my feet. The accusations, the hatred in Nolan’s eyes, and now the sight of being taken away–all of it left me feeling raw and exposed.
