Chapter 214: Formality
Drystan's POV
Jealousy seared through my veins at the mere thought of Astrid being in the arms of another man- and not just any man, but Killian, the person who hurt and broke her to pieces.
Just imagining Astrid and Killian romantically together is enough to drive me to the brink of madness; how much worse would it be if it's all happening in front of me?
Killian doesn't deserve Astrid, even if the feelings that Astrid is going to show him are fake.
Even though Astrid had already callously confessed to me that she was just going to do it all for revenge, I still couldn't take it.
Not just because I was in love with Astrid but also because I saw just how much Killian had destroyed her.
I don't want Killian to be anywhere near Astrid ever again.
I shook my head. I promised to support her with anything that she wanted. I'm willing to support her except for this.
"Astrid, are you sure you can do what you are saying? Killian had hurt you. Will you be able to take it in and pretend that you are still in love with him?" I asked her, hoping that she would also think what I was thinking.
"That's exactly what fuels me to do this, Drystan. Instead of love, hate will be my motivation. As I get reminded of how he hurt and broke me, I will use my hatred in winning his heart," Astrid answered without pause. She is really sure about this. "I know what you are thinking, Drystan. As I said I've fully thought about this. I had made my decision," Astrid repeated once again.
"You don't have to do this. If you want revenge, I can do it for you. Just tell me how you want it done and I'll give it to you. You won't have to do anything, you just have to live the way you want," I tried to persuade her with desperation in my voice.
"I can't let you take my job from me. I suffered in their own hands. They must also suffer under mine. This has to be my own schemes, my own hardwork. I want them to remember how they ruined me and how I ruined them," Astrid muttered with deep hatred in her voice.
Astrid took in a sharp breath when I suddenly wrapped my hands around hers. "If what you want is revenge, I promise I can give you that. Do you want Killian to cheat on Giselle? I can hire a talented woman who could do that.
If you want them to experience losing their son, we can kidnap their son right now and kill him before they even know it.
If all of those things are not enough, I can send all my armies right now to annihilate the whole Silvermoon Pack. Just say the word Astrid, and I'll do it. You don't have to do anything."
Astrid looked at me with wide eyes, like I had gotten out of control.
"You don't have to go through all those work, Astrid. You don't have to sacrifice anything. You no longer have to wait to have your revenge," I pleaded with her, hoping that she would just take my offer. "That's too easy, Drystan... It's too easy for them," Astrid answered, making me fall speechless.
That's right; things were hard for Astrid. Things couldn't be easy for them.
I was taken aback when Giselle pulled her hand away from mine and took a step back.
"I have to leave, Drystan. Alpha Theron must already be looking for me," Astrid excused herself without looking at me. As she walked past me, I suddenly grabbed her hand.
"What if things didn't work?" I asked her. "What are you going to do?"Belongs © to NôvelDrama.Org.
"Unless I breathe my last breath, I won't stop until I avenge my son as long as I'm alive," Astrid answered with eyes staring forward.
"What if Killian doesn't take the bait? Giselle is his true love. Even though they were separated for years, they still got back together. He even had a child with her. What makes you so sure that Killian would take interest of you?" I asked her not to offend her but to purely find out what her answer would be.
Astrid's eyes suddenly snapped at me. I was taken aback when her eyes narrowed, her stormy grey irises flashing with unmistakable annoyance as she fixed me with a piercing glare.
Her delicate features were tight, her brows furrowing in a way that made it clear she was far from pleased.
I couldn't tell if she was offended that I was questioning her ability or if she was offended because I said that Killian might not even be interested in her.
Before I could find out the answer, Astrid's eyes suddenly snapped away from me. A flicker of surprise and self-awareness crossed her features, and she quickly averted her eyes. Breaking the charged connection between us.
"You are right. I also thought about
that, but I wouldn't be this confident
for nothing,Astrid replied. "Just earlier I noticed something missing on Giselle," Astrid's gaze snapped back to me again. "Her neck is missing a mark. Although she's currently the Silvermoon Pack's Luna, Killian never marked her and
claimed her as his."
My brows furrowed together. Is that even possible? Can an Alpha give a Luna title to someone he has no plans of marking or claiming as his? Was their marriage just a formality?
"Whatever the reason is behind it, it
only means one thing - something
is wrong between them. Things
must not be the way it used to between them. I might use that as an opening to get in between them," Astrid answered, her eyes

sharpening with determination.
