Chapter 58 Starve to Death
Chapter 58 Starve to Death
Beth laughed so hard that she couldn’t breathe, and her tears were flowing. She became more and
more insane, looking as if she was stunned by the devil.
What did she hear?
Was she dreaming?
The man who once despised her, the man who once trampled her under his feet, said...
As long as she said she didn't want him to leave, he would stay.
Was she crazy? Otherwise, how could she hear Aaron saying such things?
This was really ridiculous and absurd.
Aaron's face darkened. “What do you mean? What are you laughing at?”
Beth laughed for a long time, and then she calmed down. She raised her eyelids and said with self-
deprecation, “Aaron, I think it's not me who’s going crazy, but you.”
“Beth!” His eyes surged with coldness, and the throbbing that had just appeared was swept away in an
instant.
Beth’s expression remained unchanged, lying there like a dead body. “You won’t leave if I don't want
you to go? Don't you hate me so much? Are you staying to see me as a joke now? Have you seen
enough? I had nothing left with me because of you. Do you still want to trample on my heart now?”
Tears fell from the corners of her eyes and she whispered idiotically, “No way.”
“I won't be like that again.”
Aaron wanted to tell her that he didn't stay to see her as a joke. NôvelDrama.Org (C) content.
But what explanation could he give?
The fog in his mind dispersed, and a reality suddenly appeared in front of him.
His dark pupils shrank violently.
Did she want him to admit that he felt sorry for her?
Damn it, really fucking damn it! How could he feel sorry for her? Why would he want to stay with her?
He shouldn't have this kind of emotion!
However, if it was not because of that, why would he say those words involuntarily?
At this point, Aaron didn't even know what he was thinking.
He sipped his lips tightly, and his pale lips outlined an icy arc.
“Yes!”
“I just want to see you as a joke. You are in such pain now. How can I not stay and appreciate your
embarrassment and misery?” In a twinkling of an eye, he said coldly.
She was so disdainful that if she knew it, she would laugh at him.
If she didn't care, why should he worry about her?
These words fell to Beth's ear, and she felt as if her heart had been severely stabbed and it was bloody.
She was discouraged and she said with a self-deprecating smile, “So, have you seen enough?”
“Then could you leave now?”
Fine. She was a joke. He had seen enough anyway.
She didn't care anymore.
She really didn't care at all.
She just felt that now she was really tired, as if she didn't even have the strength to breathe. She just
wanted to close her eyes and just fall asleep. And it was best that she wouldn’t wake up forever.
Sinking into the endless darkness, she would not want to wake up to face this broken reality.
Aaron was always an arrogant person. When he heard Beth drive him away, he naturally wouldn't stay
any longer.
Aaron turned around with a cold breath.
“Beth, you just wait here to die!”
He left in the rain, and the door of the villa was kicked and rattled by him.
The huge breaking sound, like a cold blade, pierced through Beth’s internal organs.
She struggled to breathe, and there was thick blood between her lips and teeth.
The atmosphere suddenly quieted down without warning, and the surroundings were horribly quiet.
Beth curled up on the sofa, and her bandaged hands couldn't even move. Her breath was very light,
and tears rolled out and blurred her face.
Jacky.
Her brother was gone.
He died because of her.
She was useless, she couldn't beat Kathy and Carina.
She was useless.
That night, Beth cried until she was exhausted before she passed out. She woke up from a nightmare
and began to cry again.
It rained heavily the whole night.
The next day, there was a big sun.
The sunlight of early autumn shone through the window, spreading a layer of broken gold on the floor
around her.
Her expression was decadent and flagging to the extreme, like a wisp of ghosts.
Beth endured her physical discomfort and got up to go to Deep Water Bay.
Now that the storm had stopped, she had to rush over.
However, as soon as Beth opened the door, she saw an unexpected person.
A clear face reflected in her scarlet eyes, and the sun fell on his tall and straight body. He looked like a
person coming out of the painting, and his body exuded a warm breath of spring.
Mark.
This man was Mark.
Mark said worriedly, “Are you going out?”
Hearing his deep voice, Beth's consciousness was still blurred for a moment.
Clearly that little boy was Aaron, but when she saw Mark, she always thought that Mark was that little
boy.
Mark's breath was warm as sunshine.
But she knew better than anyone that he was not.
“Mark.” Beth said with a hoarse voice.
Mark's brow knitted into a frown. “You look so shaky. I have heard about the matter that happened in
Deep Water Bay. Sorry for your loss.”
She didn't want to cry, but when she saw his concerned eyes, she couldn't help but her eyes were
turning red.
It made her feel as if the boy was just around the corner.
He came to her.
“I... thank you, Mark.” Beth said incoherently.
Mark comforted her, “You must have not eaten breakfast yet. You look so shaky, and you should eat
something before going there.”
Beth got out of the way unconsciously.
Mark walked in and said, “I have heard about the matter of the crew. I have already talked to my friends
over there. You can still go.”
“Carina can't tolerate you, so you should avoid her first.”
Mark asked her, “Where is the kitchen? I'll make something for you, and you can eat something before
you go.”
For a long time... There was nobody who cared for her so much, and Beth couldn't hold it anymore.
She burst into tears.
Mark was stunned.
Facing her tearful red eyes, he felt an indescribable sense of guilt.
Beth choked, “Mark...”
“You don’t have to… I'm not hungry.”
Mark suppressed his thoughts and smiled, “How can you skip breakfast? You have to hold on, and your
brother definitely doesn't want to see you like this.”
Mark went to the kitchen. He found some food and made a meal for her.
Beth leaned against the door and looked at him, and his back was overlapping with the boy in her
memory again.
She said subconsciously, “Can you cook, Mark?”
Mark said calmly, “Yes. What should I do if I can't cook? Am I going to starve to death?”
“Starve to death?” Her eyes flashed.
Mark's eyes became deep.
“Yes, I will starve to death in the bad lands.”
That place was Taylor Town.
