Elizabeth stood by the mirror as she placed her hand on her huge bump “I got to be confident with this, not like my baby daddy abandoned me” Elizabeth said and signed as she checked the time on her phone. “Edde hurry up! I will be waiting in the sitting room for you!” Elizabeth called out.

“Alright!”

Elizabeth took the nude coloured bag Edde chose for her that matched with the nude coloured stretchy gown and sandals as she walked out of the room to see a maid with the vacuum cleaner headed to their room.

“Good morning ma’am” she said and bowed as Elizabeth smiled slightly.

“Good morning dear, come back later. Your master is getting dressed” Elizabeth said as the maid bowed and left to the next room.

Elizabeth sighed as she carefully climbed down the stairs to see Ray facing the TV and his back facing her, she was forced to smile at his look on the leopard costumed pajamas. He looked cute.

“Morning Ray” Elizabeth said as she sat on a couch smiling sheepishly.

“Hello Mrs Loxley, how are you doing and how good is our baby doing?” Ray asked as Elizabeth nearly choked on her breath but controlled her clumsy self.

“All good, thanks for the meat balls last night they tasted better than expected” Elizabeth complimented as Ray smiled and nodded, turning back to the TV.

“That wasn’t a big deal anyways”

“It’s definitely a big deal for Edde”

“Edde is a lazy dude… ouch don’t say I told you” Ray said whispering clumsily as Elizabeth chuckled softly.

“Hey Betta, what are you discussing with my brother that is making you laugh? You never laughed at my anything,” Edde said with a fierce expression, his hands dipped in his pocket as he matched down the stairs.

“Not like you ever make me happy, let’s just leave immediately” Elizabeth scoffed as she hurried out.

Edde stood for some seconds glaring scornfully at Ray who simply shrugged and turned back to the TV “Ray do not go close to my cars or touch my money” Edde said coldly as Ray turned swiftly to him with a stunned look.

“Come on! I have changed!”

The drive to the hospital was a quiet one as Edde kept stealing glances at Elizabeth who was going through the list of things needed for the baby. His mind was occupied. He needed to talk to Elizabeth but she wasn’t giving him the slightest attention.

“I think something is missing on this list, what could that be?” Elizabeth whispered thoughtfully as she scanned through the list. “Well, I think this is enough for now” She concluded as she wrapped up the piece of paper back into her bag.

“So Betta, you said I don’t make you happy right?”.

“Edde, is that really a topic?” Elizabeth asked, turning disgustingly to him as he signed with his eyes still focused on the driveway. If Edde isn’t anything at least he is a good careful driver especially when he’s with Elizabeth.

“Elizabeth don’t get me wrong, I am not trying to be violent or something I just want to know my flaws and…”

“Edde can we just concentrate on the journey, you already made me waste much time at home. I wouldn’t want to waste a longer time away from home for Pete’s sake!” Elizabeth muttered as Edde sighed and increased his speed level.

Soon Edde got to the shopping mall as Edde came down and walked over to Elizabeth’s side to help her down, he locked the car and held Elizabeth’s hand as they walked quietly into the mall.

They could notice numerous eyes on them and camera flashes coming from left right and center. Elizabeth held Edde’s hand tightly as she tried to hide her face from the camera.

“Elizabeth, stop doing that, you’re acting like you’re ashamed of my baby we talked about this Betta,” Edde said in-between gnitched teeth as they hurried forward.

“But I can’t be comfortable with these camera flashes! The crowd is too much for me to handle!” Elizabeth yelled in a whisper as she was almost tearing up.

“This is bound to happen, you have been indoors for five months and some weeks now. Coming out with a huge bump will definitely bring attention, you should be used to this by now huh!”

“Hello sir hello Ma’am” A waiter greeted me with a smile and bowed slightly.

“Hello, I’m sure your boss has told you about my coming,” Edde asked as she nodded.

“Come with me Please” She said politely and led the way as Edde and Elizabeth trailed behind her.

“My boss instructed me to take you and your wife to the third floor to do your baby shopping alone without fans distraction so you will be going in his personal elevator” The girl said In a smile as she pressed the elevator button.

Getting to the third floor they were directed to the baby section where they occupied alone. “I will be leaving now Mr and Mrs Loxley,” she said bowing politely and left.

Elizabeth took out the lists from her bag as she took a deep breath. “Hence you swore that the maids won’t do basic things like this for us so, you have to do the baby shopping I will go get me a bar of chocolate” Elizabeth said and threw the lists at Edde making Edde smirk at her clumsy attitude.

“You ain’t serious Elizabeth, we came together so we gotta shop together. If anyone should be resting it should be me and not you!” Edde said harshly, obviously pissed off and exhausted as Elizabeth rolled her eyes.

“Are you pregnant?”

Edde ran his fingers through his hair letting out a loud sigh. “Just suit yourself!”.

Elizabeth chuckled at his frustrated expression as she hurried happily to the Chocolate factory. “Hello miss ma’am please can I get 6 bars of dark chocolate?” Elizabeth ordered grinning from ear to ear as the middle aged lady nodded.

“Everything here looks so yummy that my belly craves all at once!” Elizabeth Muttered inaudibly as her phone rang out, checking the caller’s ID she smiled and swiped to the green icon “Hey Mel, How are you doing?” Elizabeth said in a smile as she hears the hiccups and crying voice of Melanie. “Melanie, are you okay? What’s the problem why are you crying?” Elizabeth muttered worriedly and took a seat by the corner of the Chocolate factory.

“Etta I ain’t fine! My life is ruined!”

“Melanie please calm down and stop crying, just tell me what the problem is!”.

“Wait, what!” She yelled in shock as the chocolate lady raised her eyes at her making Elizabeth clear her throat nervously. “Melanie how did this happen, I know you as a very careful person”.

“This isn’t my fault it’s Luca’s, he is always abusive in sex and this time he was so merciless that the condom broke!” Melanie explained in a teary cracked voice as Elizabeth’s eyes shone in surprise.

“All these while Luca has been abusive to you and you kept quiet! Why did you have to hide such information from me Mel!” Elizabeth yelled, pissed by the situation as she hissed frustratedly. “Does Luca know about this?”

“Yes he knows but he refused to accept it, he called me bitch, slut and worst still a fucking whore! He equally beats me up at slightest provocations Etta. I’m literally his punching bag!” Melanie said and cried out painfully.

“Mel please calm down and stop crying, you’re better than that. I’m at the mall doing some baby shopping with Edde. I will call you once I get home and we will sort things out”.

“Alright, Thanks Etta”.

“Anytime babe” Elizabeth said and ended the call as she hissed thoughtfully. “Is Luca really such a bad person? Why will he do that to Mel after getting her pregnant?’ How dare he beat her up!” Elizabeth muttered worriedly.

“Edde is no good anyways, Edde is abusive to me but I never told anyone so I shouldn’t get angry at my bestie. I should think of the best way to deal with Luca, he needs to be taught a lesson”.

“Ma’am your chocolates are ready” the chocolate lady said as Elizabeth smiled and headed to her.

Elizabeth happily took her wrapped chocolate in the fancy bag the lady put it in as she walked towards the baby section when her phone rang, she checked the callers ID and it was Edde so she quickly swiped to the green icon.

“I am on my way to the…”

“Never mind, just come to the first floor. I will be waiting at the counter,” Edde said calmly over the phone as Elizabeth smiled slightly.

“Hope you bought everything on the list correctly?”.

“Come check it out yourself” Edde answered coldly and ended the call as Elizabeth sighed, staring at her phone with mixed expressions and reversed back toward the elevator. “And now I gotta go with a random elevator” Elizabeth sighed and pressed the elevator button as it opened revealing Doctor Alec.

“Hello Mrs Loxley” Alec greeted as Elizabeth smiled, settling inside the elevator.

“Hello Doc, didn’t expect to see you”.

“Yeah, I just came out to get some cat food for my cat”.

“Oh, that’s nice,” Elizabeth replied, faking a smile. She was already getting quite uncomfortable staying alone in the elevator with Alec and no one seemed to be coming in. Just then the light in the elevator went off, making Elizabeth’s brain scream in fright.

“What’s going on! Why is everywhere suddenly dark!” Elizabeth yelled already freaking out as she was even more uncomfortable with Alec being with her.

“I… I… I think the light went out”.
