Chapter 45

Elisa saw Robert alone, sitting in his wheelchair, and his attention focused on the beautiful scenery
outside.
At first, Elisa was hesitant to stand near him, aware of his coldness. But she still went there, stood beside his wheelchair, and fixed her eyes on the swaying leaves of the trees outside.
“Um, Robert, if you need something, you can tell me,” said Elisa. “If you need someone to talk to, I am
here.
It was part of Elisa’s duty as a wife, even if the marriage was fake and she signed an agreement with him. She would not care about his feelings until they reached the part where they would be divorced.
As expected, Robert turned his head and stared at her coldly, making Elisa shake like a leaf.
“Don’t dare talk to me now!” Robert furiously shouted. It almost echoed around the mansion.
She was somewhat saddened. She only tried to be concerned with him.
“Sorry about that. Elisa replied, somewhat disheartened.

Elisa turned and descended the stairs. Knowing Robert wasn’t in the mood, she dared not stay balcony.
In the living room, John, Robert’s grandfather, raised an eyebrow. He was as curious as a cat on hearing Robert’s shout upstairs.
“Oh, dear, did Robert just scold you?!” John asked, concerned. “That child! Let me give him a lesson he deserves! He might have forgotten who I am!”
Before John could walk past Elisa, she stopped and said, “Grandpa, no. I mean, it is my fault. I know he just wants some peace of mind. Let’s just respect him.”
“No-”
John was about to insist, but Elisa was already interrupting him.
“Grandpa, what did I just smell? Did you let the servant cook some meals?”
John nodded. He knew Elisa wanted to focus on other things rather than Robert’s deeds.
“Yep. I’m about to tell you and Robert for us to eat, he replied, pointing his fingers at the kitchen. “Anyway, we’ll eat later. But before that, I’ll remind you again to tell me if he will hurt and offend you. I’ll be the one to teach him a lesson he deserves. Yes, he is my grandchild, but that doesn’t mean I will be siding with him even if he does bad things. No, I won’t!”
Elisa was about to interrupt John once more. Still, the servant from the kitchen approached them, announcing the dining table was set, with all the foods placed there..
“That’s good to hear!” John replied to the servant, adding, “Tell Robert to come down too to eat.”
“Yes, sir! We have prepared his food, too!” The servant said, then went upstairs.

A few minutes later, they saw Robert in his automatic wheelchair heading into the dining room.
He then halted at the opposite table corner, scanning his eyes around the dishes specifically prepared just. for him.
“Let’s eat!” Jobs said.
Elisa nodded. She tried to avoid Robert’s gaze and focused on the food on the table.
Silence surrounded the dining table, but that didn’t stop them from eating. Yet, as soon as John remembered how Robert was somewhat intimate with Elisa, he brought his eyes in his direction.
“Robert, can you please cool down? Don’t be too intimate with Elisa!” John exclaimed. “She’s your wife! Don’t forget about that!”
On the side, Elisa felt sorry for Robert as his grandpa scolded him. She was about to stop John but couldn’t voice her frustration.
However, Robert dared not respond to him and focused on–eating-
At that moment, Elisa had just concluded that Robert’s food being served by the servant to him was different from theirs. All the foods on his plate and bowl were clean and without spices.
“I know what I am doing,” Robert replied coldly.
Curious. Elisa asked, “Robert, don’t you eat with spices?”
The servant, who served other dishes on Robert’s side, placed the bowl on the table and looked at Elisa. Instead of Robert replying, the servant said, “Yes. Sir Robert doesn’t like any spices.”
“I see,” Elisa replied and nodded her head.
“He’s like that. He’s too picky and hates a lot of things!” John roared on his chair when he got some tissue to wipe the side of his lips.
“Well, Grandpa, that’s pretty normal,” Elisa said, trying to defend Robert. “I also don’t like peppers at all. I don’t think there’s anything about it, Grandpa.
That made Robert smirked. He didn’t want to believe Elisa defended her. For him, Elisa wanted to look good in front of John for him to admire her more.
“I don’t want to argue with you about that. You are now his wife, so you must be aware in advance how demanding he was,” said John, smirking. Since you are now the wife, it will be your responsibility to take good care of him, no matter how often he’s like that.”
“Yeah,” Elisa replied.
Meanwhile, Robert didn’t interject during their conversation. He continued to eat, and once he was full, he activated his wheelchair, turned around, and started leaving.
“Hey, where are you going?! We didn’t even know you were done eating!” John called up his attention.
But Robert didn’t stop until he faded from their sight. He didn’t want to remain at the dining table, especially seeing Elisa, who somewhat made his blood boil in anger. Still, at the same time, he felt mixed up about his feelings deep within him.

“Look how disrespectful he ist I hope you can withstand his attitude in the long run. I’m afraid you’ll give up in the end,” said John while he kept shaking his head.
“Grandpa, I think we need to understand him for now,” Elisa insisted. He is trying to adjust his life now.”
“You have a point, John nodded. “Anyway, do you have any appointments for today? I want you to accompany me shopping.”
Elisa drank the juice in her cup until it was already empty. Afterward, she nodded her head.
“I do have. I’ll visit the police station to sign the papers. Well, I know you already heard Suelen confessed and was guilty, she replied.
“Okay, I’ll just accompany you. Is that fine?” John asked, his brows raised.
“I don’t want to waste your time, Grandpa. You might just feel bored waiting for me, Elisa tried to reason.
“It doesn’t matter. I can wait until you’re done,” he replied.
Elisa had no other choice. If she gave him another reason, John would find a way to convince her.
“Alright. I’ll be heading later,” said Elisa.
“Grandpa, I am done signing all papers and talking to the officers. Would you still like me to accompany you to the shop? What if you get home and do it by tomorrow?” Elisa asked as soon as she sat beside John in the car’s back seat.
“Yeah,” John replied, looking at his wristwatch. “Come on, it’s too early. Going home will just make me bored. Let’s go shopping!”
Upon hearing that, Elisa forced a smile on her face.
“Alright, then, let’s go, Grandpa!” Elisa said and had no other choice.
It didn’t mean she didn’t want to accompany him at all. She just wanted to use the time to go back and record, as she had recorded five days of music before but quickly ran out of ideas. She had been out of school for several days and wanted to get back on track.
The driver drove into the nearby mall and stopped in the parking lot.
Elisa first came out of the car and lent a hand to John, who was coming out of the car.
“Grandpa, are you sure you need some new clothes?” Elisa asked out of the blue when she and John. entered the mall’s entrance. “Aren’t we just going to have a walk?”
“Yep. I know you’re judging me because I’m old, but I still have a sense of fashion,” John said. “Please guide me in my search for one. Besides, if we can see some clothes and dress well for you, I’ll buy you some.”
“Come on, there’s no need to buy for me.” Elisa waved her hand. “I’ll just help you choose some fashion that keeps up with the trends.”
Meanwhile, Olivia came out on the side. She captured Eli
It was not her intention to see then. She went to the police station and followed Elisa into the mall. It was all worth it as she got evidence now.
With all the photos she captured, she sent them to Yan’s for him to see and smirked.
It was now clear to her why Elisa suddenly became so rich and even let her mother stay in the VIP ward at the hospital.
“Hmm, this doesn’t need her to explain. It’s crystal clear she just wants that old man’s pension to survive….” she mumbled.
When she returned from her senses, she sent an audio message to Yan.
“Look what I see. You must check it out before you ignore me…”
Meanwhile, Yan looked at the photos being sent. He clenched his fist for an instant, and that old man was 100 familiar to him.
“Wasn’t it the same old man as Elisa in the hospital when Elisa was visiting her mother?”
Still, staring at those photos could make someone think differently. Even Yan could tell that was her sugar daddy.
