“So, today you’re really going on a work trip out of town?” Deasy looked sulky on the edge of the bed, observing Lucas intently as he was tidying up his black shirt wrapped around his body.
As mentioned yesterday, Lucas did indeed have a two-day work schedule out of town. Whether she liked it or not, Deasy had to accept being left alone again. It was quite a pity.
Just when Deasy had started to nurture feelings for the new relationship she and Lucas had started, now, when they were about to enjoy and experience the sweetness of the relationship, the man who had impregnated her had to leave again. Even though it was just for a short while, for some reason, it felt heavy. To be honest, Deasy wanted Lucas to be with her right now.
“Yeah, I’ll only be gone for two days. It won’t be long.”
“Not long?” Deasy retorted coldly. If you looked closely, her beautiful face still had a sulky expression. Maybe she was still upset because they had just met three days ago, and now he was going to disappear again. “I’m still going to be alone, Luc. You just appeared, and now you’re about to disappear again.”
Seeing Deasy’s unchanging expression, Lucas smiled. He turned around, approached Deasy, and sat down beside her.
“Just wait a bit. I promise, as soon as everything’s done, I’ll come back here immediately. I promised to stay with you, didn’t I?”
“I know!” Deasy replied. While staring into Lucas’s jet-black eyes, she continued to grumble in a petulant and affectionate tone. “Then, if I have cravings or get tired, who will massage me? Who will feed me if I want breakfast or dinner? And who will accompany me to sleep?”
Lucas chuckled. It was amusing to hear Deasy’s long, uninterrupted complaints like a never-ending train. Because of his fondness for her, he even pinched her nose playfully while responding softly.
“I’ll make it up to you when I get back. Seriously, this won’t take long. If it’s not absolutely necessary, I wouldn’t go.”
Deasy continued to gaze at Lucas’s face, which displayed a pleading expression. It was as if he was asking Deasy to allow his departure this time.
In reality, Lucas found it quite amusing. He hadn’t expected Deasy, who was usually blunt, cold, and often annoying, to change 180% and become so affectionate. Just like a child. But that was fine. Lucas liked it. He preferred seeing Deasy like this, not being shy to show her other side, no longer feeling awkward to be affectionate and longing for him. Rather than her usual tendency to get angry and rant aimlessly.
“Over there, you’ll be up to all sorts of things,” Deasy muttered with a sad expression on her face.
Respected netizens, please remind Deasy who it was that said Lucas wasn’t her ideal type. Who was it that said Lucas was the kind of guy who would never attract anyone because of his plain and ordinary appearance.
So, why is she now worried that he might do something while they’re apart?
“Oh my sweetheart, how could I do anything like that? With an average face like mine, who would want to be with me, really?”
“Well, you never know,” Deasy argued with a slightly raised voice. “These days, there are plenty of beautiful women with ordinary-looking guys. There are also rich and beautiful women with guys who don’t meet the typical standards. Why? Because the guy is really good at sweet-talking, just like you.”
Rather than getting offended, Lucas burst into laughter at Deasy’s argument. Seriously, was the woman in front of him jealous or something?
“Banana fritters, tofu from Sumedang. Even though distance separates us. Don’t worry, my love for you will never diminish. So, don’t be afraid that I’ll do anything.”
“See, you’re sweet-talking again.”
Lucas laughed again. It was both awkward and amusing to deal with Deasy’s strange behavior this morning.
“But seriously, I have to go. It’s only two days, okay? Please, give me your permission.”
“Fine, you can go,” Deasy reluctantly said. Well, how could she be willing when they had just met? They had only been lovey-dovey and affectionate for a day. Of course, she didn’t feel satisfied and felt like she was losing him again.
Ah, it seemed like from now on, Deasy would never feel satisfied. Especially now that Lucas had openly shown that he could satisfy her anywhere, including in bed. #eh. “But… before you go, you have to promise something.”
Lucas’s brow reflexively furrowed. What was she going to make him promise this time? There were already so many conditions Deasy had presented for his two-day trip.
After all, Lucas really had to go for work. He wasn’t just boasting or cosplaying as Lucas Morales for a few days.
“Yeah, what do I have to promise?”
“If you’re not busy, call me often.”Content © NôvelDrama.Org.
This time, Lucas smiled. It seemed like the charm he had given to Deasy was starting to work. He thought she was going to ask for something else. Turns out, she just wanted him to call her frequently in his free time. Easy enough, whether it’s a phone call or video call.
“Oh my, what did I think? Yes, dear. I promise. Whenever I have free time, I’ll call you right away so you won’t miss me. And if necessary, every night before bed, I’ll video call you, how about that?”
Deasy looked surprised by Lucas’s words. It wasn’t about the promise he’d contact her all the time. It was about Lucas suddenly calling her by a term she had never heard before.
“What was that just now? You called me… ‘dear’?”
“Yes… ‘dear.’ Why? Don’t you like me calling you ‘dear’?”
Deasy shook her head repeatedly. Her face turned red as she tried to contain the excitement inside her.
Just being called “dear” made Deasy’s heart race uncontrollably. Like a fickle teenager, she started grinning.
Don’t forget, just a few days ago, she was playing hard to get. She even insulted and criticized Lucas in various ways. So why had she suddenly changed her mind and started acting like someone who was head over heels in love?
“It’s not like that. It’s just-”
“Just what, dear?”
For heaven’s sake, could Lucas just say “dear” without making it sound all soft and indulgent? Deasy was getting more and more smitten hearing it.
“I-I was just surprised. You suddenly used the term ‘dear’ like that.”
Lucas grinned. He understood why Deasy might find it unusual or surprising what he had just said.
“Well, should I call you ‘Ms. Deasy’ then? I mean, we’re in a relationship. It doesn’t sound nice or romantic, right? Or do you want me to call you ‘Mom’?”
“Huh? Why ‘Mom’? I’m not your mother. Don’t call me ‘Mom’ or anything like that.”
“Well, you’re going to be the mother of my children, dear. So, what’s the big deal?”
Not Deasy but the virtuous netizen who would feel nauseous listening to this. It’s true what they say, excess is not good. Just call each other “dear” and don’t overdo it, right?
“Enough, Luc. Stop sweet-talking. It’s still morning,” protested Deasy immediately.
“Buy a thick book, then buy some nails. I’m serious, from now on, you’re my girlfriend. So, I’ve decided to call you ‘dear.’ I don’t care, but you can’t refuse.”
Deasy sighed in exasperation. She pinched Lucas’s arm until he groaned. Annoyed in such a serious moment, her boyfriend (aww, boyfriend) was still rhyming as usual.
“Ouch, dear. Instead of pinching, why don’t you just kiss me?” Lucas teased as he rubbed his reddened arm from Deasy’s pinch.
“No way! You’re annoying.”
“Are you sure you don’t want to kiss me? We’re not going to see each other for two days, you know. I promise you’ll miss my touch, my kisses, my hugs-”
Lucas’s sentence hung in the air as Deasy deliberately pulled Lucas’s face toward hers to silence his ramblings with a deep kiss. They passionately kissed, savoring and alternating between each other’s lips.
Lucas couldn’t stay idle. In the next moment, he responded eagerly. He pulled Deasy’s neck closer to deepen their kiss. He even deliberately pushed Deasy’s body slowly, guiding her to lie on the bed.
The kiss that had started as ordinary slowly grew hotter and more passionate. Especially when Lucas’s hands began to roam and paused right at Deasy’s chest. He gently squeezed it, making Deasy moan and squirm.
Realizing that this morning’s activities could lead to something longer if not stopped, Lucas slowly tried to pull away and unravel the kiss between them.
From Lucas’s perspective, he could clearly see how unwilling Deasy was to let their short morning activity end just like that.
“We have to work, dear,” Lucas said gently, resting his forehead against Deasy’s, who was catching her breath.
“You’re mean!” she muttered.
“How am I mean?” Lucas wondered, even though he knew Deasy was upset because he suddenly stopped the kiss. “We’ll continue as soon as I get back, I promise.”
Lucas then cupped Deasy’s cheeks. He gazed deeply into her eyes and then gave her a quick kiss on the lips for the last time.
“You take care of yourself while I’m gone. If you need urgent help, just contact Miss Veronicafor the time being.”
Deasy nodded, agreeing with what Lucas instructed.
“Yeah, don’t worry. I’ll take good care of myself. Are you going to leave now?”
Lucas shook his head. He then got up from his seat.
“I’ll drive you to work first. After that, I’ll leave.”
Deasy smiled happily. She thought Lucas was going to leave her just like that. Turns out, not at all. In the last moments before leaving for a few days, Lucas still found the time to drive her to the office.
Using the latest HRV car model, which Lucas admitted was his office car, Lucas drove Deasy to the front entrance of the Forty-Nine building. Before she got out of the car, he helped her unbuckle her seatbelt and even took the opportunity to give her a quick kiss on the forehead before allowing her to exit.
“Don’t forget to take your medicine and vitamins. I’ll call you as soon as I arrive.”
“You also be careful on the road.”
“Okay. Have a good day at work. Love you.”
Once again, Deasy was left speechless and dazed for a moment. She wasn’t used to receiving such affectionate words from someone who was in a romantic relationship.
“Des…” Lucas called out when Deasy lingered, not opening the car door. “You’re okay, right?”
“Uh, y-yeah. I’m fine. I’ll get out now. L-love you too.”
