PRESCRIPTION
Nolan’s car pulled up in front of his apartment and he stepped out, walking over to the other side, su he could help Layla out.
“No need..” she bluntly refused. “I can help myself” she added and she opened the car door, stepping out as well and she walked inside, leaving her belongings for Nolan to take care of. Her plan was to make him regret ever laying his hands on her.
“Maddox!!” She squealed happily the moment she walked inside the house.ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .
“Woof!” Maddox barked as he jumped on Layla.
“Oh boy, I’ve missed you..” she pouted as she rubbed its fur. She’d still not forgotten how much she feared him back then, but now, they’ve become best buddies.
“Look at you. It seems as if you’ve grown bigger..” she teased, still rubbing him slowly then she stood up.
“You should go to your room Layla and get some rest.” Nolan informed, dropping get bags on the floor after he got in.
“I’m not not in the mood to talk, I’ll get a glass of water..” she informed walking over to the kitchen and Nolan followed behind her.
“You know you can’t do this forever, sooner or later. You’ll have to talk to me..” he stated as he watched as she sat down.
“There’s nothing for us to talk about Nolan, seriously. I think we should just mind our business like you’ve always said. Or are you thinking of making a change because I’m not pregnant?” She asked with a questioning gaze.
“It’s not because you’re pregnant..” he drew out. The news of her pregnancy must have shaken him a bit but it was not because of that.
“Why did you do what you did at the hospital?” He asked and she lifted up her gaze to meet his.
“What did I do?”
“When Karen asked if you were being abused, why did you lie?” He asked. He had expected her to tell the truth or even file a complaint but she did not do that.
“Because I don’t want to stoop so low to your level..” she replied in a curt tone.
“I can’t be a beast along with the father of my child. One person has to make a difference..” she voiced out.
“And don’t think I was doing you a favor. I will honestly love to see you behind bars…” she chuckled painstakingly.
“Do you even care about me Nolan?” She couldn’t help but ask.
“I mean seeing how ruthless you were with me that day. Do you even care about me?” She asked again.
“You know what it’s best we stop here. I don’t want to talk about that again..” she stated.
“Your medicines are in your bag. The prescriptions are written there..” He informed as she shook her head.
“Thank you..” she muttered.
“The diet you’re to follow is also written there. You don’t have to worry about that, as we would be returning back to the pack. I’ve already set out the meals that would be prepared for you..” he stated and she shook her head slowly.
“I’ll leave you then..” he made his way to leave when she spoke out.
“Nolan..” Layla called as she wanted to tell him that she told Aurora everything.
“I told Aurora about the lycans..” she began in a low voice.
“Why did you do that? He questioned. He had told her before that humans were not supposed to know about their existence.
“Because I wanted to. Why else?”
“She’s my best friend and she should at least know why I’m going away for a very long time..” she defended as she couldn’t keep lying to Aurora anymore, it was best she knew the truth.
“You don’t have to worry about anything. She promised not to say a word. Your secret is safe with her..” she voiced out.
“I hope you’re not angry..” she quickly added.
“Get some rest..” he said curtly as he left for his room.
Layla breathed out in relief as she watched him live. That showed that he was not angry at her and had expected the fact that Aurora now knew about them.
She placed her hands on her stomach as she rubbed it slowly, she could feel it already bulging out.
She wondered how her life would turn out now that she was going to the pack.
She had a lot of responsibilities lined up for her, not only was she going to be a mother, she was also going to be a Luna, a queen.
She now had people under her that she had to rule over and made sure they followed the right path.
Honestly, Layla felt kind of nervous about it, she couldn’t help but think about how everything would play out. She wanted nothing but peace, she didn’t want a situation where there would be any problems. She just wanted everything to walk out just fine.
