Pregnant After One Night With The Lycan King

PARALYTIC ROT

Nolan is seen in his study room with Darren as they talk about the investigation.

“So what did you find?” He asked as Darren sat opposite him, he had a file in his hand.

“A poison was detected in Layla’s food that was sent to the lab..” he began.

“Whoever this person was sure hates the Luna a lot..” he deadpanned.

“If she had taken the poison, there would have been no way out for her. She would have been paralyzed In the next twenty four hours, then her body would start decaying before she finally passed out..” Darren explained as Nolan pursed his lips, he knew about the poison Darren was talking about.

“Paralytic rot!!” He muttered as he instantly dropped the pen he was holding.

That poison could do something very gruesome to a person, it was mainly used for Lycans.

But the strange thing was that, paralytic rot was a very rare poison, so whoever was behind this was an important person in the pack.

“I found the bottle in her room. I’ve sent my men to trace the origin. Soon enough we’d get the name of the place where it was purchased..” he informed.

“I also found something else..” Darren began.

“What’s that?”

“I found a hundred thousand dollar notes in her belongings. Sarah was paid to do this..”

“When I looked into her family, I discovered that her mother is infected with lycanthropic mange, apparently she needed money for treatment and was sent to do this” Darren concluded.

Lycanthropic Mange was a disease that causes the werewolf’s fur to fall out in patches and leaves their skin raw and irritated.

“The culprit is closer than we think Darren..” Nolan voiced out. They actually used Sarah’s weakness, they must have threatened to take the life of her family if she said the truth, that was why she probably killed herself, because she didn’t have any choice. Sarah was a victim.

“I’ve sent her body to the family for burial…” Darren said and Nolan nodded.

He was going to get the culprit no matter what it took.

The person actually thought of taking the life of a mother and child, but what he just couldn’t place his fingers in was what Layla’s crime was.

She just came to the pack, it has not even been up to a month and an attempt to take her life had already been made.

“Should I send an arrest warrant for the family?” Darren asked. Usually when a person committed treason in the pack, the whole family suffered for it, as they were related to a traitor.

“Not yet. I don’t think we should do that now..” he replied as he didn’t want to act repulsive or whatsoever

The family was innocent, they had nothing to do with it. The mother was definitely manipulated into doing what she did, because she needed cash for her mother’s treatment.

“Okay If you say so..” Darren agreed. The families were innocent though they were going to suffer for that singular act of a family member. Though Nolan had decided not to arrest them, the people were going to see them as traitors now.

While they were still talking, a knock was heard on the door.

“Come in…” Nolan invited and the door slowly opened as Carla walked in.

She looked nervous, she actually came to Nolan’s office for two reasons.

First was to try and know how far they’ve gone with the investigation, second was to show him her new look. She was sure she looked like Layla now. Nolan would not be able to get his eyes off her.

“Why are you here Carla?” Nolan asked in a cold tone.

“I came to see you. Hi Darren..” she waved at Darren as she walked closer to them.

“See me for what? Do you need anything?” Nolan questioned.

“No, not really. You see I was worried, that’s why I came..” she began, with a sad look on her face.

“The thing is I’m worried about Layla..” she stated, as she pushed a strand of her hair away.

She wanted to flaunt her short hair to him, maybe he’s compliment her new looks.

“Poor thing, someone’s trying to get her killed. So sad..” she pouted.

“What do you want Carla, as you can see we were busy before you came in..” Nolan chimed in as she had been talking too much.

“I just want to know if you guys have a lead on who the culprit is. I know you guys are investigating..” she voiced out, hoping to get one or two pieces of information from Nolan.

Nolan lips pursed as he listened to her, then he said. “You don’t have to worry about anything. The culprit would be caught soon..”C0pyright © 2024 Nôv)(elDrama.Org.

“I hope so..” she said in a low voice. But inwardly her heart was racing. Nolan had issued a lockdown and no one was allowed to leave or come into the palace and she needed to leave.

“You see, Layla is like a younger sister to me. She’s still too young to suffer from any trauma and I badly want to see her happy..” she deadpanned on the word happy as she placed her hands on her chest while she said those words.

Layla was just twenty years old, she felt pissed that a little girl like Layla was coming to take her place.

“It’s good that you care for her. You should. Besides, she’s your Luna. It’s your duty to protect her..” Nolan pointed out and Carla felt her heart seize.

He didn’t compliment her new look, rather he told her to care for Layla.

“Yes Nolan. I am going to take care of her. I promise..” she smiled warmly at them, as she emphasized in the word take care of her.

She’d make sure to do that, soon enough.

“I’d be honored to do that Nolan..” she said, a wicked smile forming at the corner of her lips.

“I’ll leave you two now to go on with your investigation. Bye..” she waved as she cat walked out of the office.

Immediately Carla got out, she sighed in relief, they didn’t know that she did it yet. Now was the time to strike so that no one would suspect her.

Arranging her hair, she made way to her room.
