Painful seduction

She opened her eyes slowly as she wondered why she was lying down on the cushion when she was supposed to be on her bed, she looked around to see if she could find Rhea but she wasn’t there.

She stood up gently because she was still feeling tired as she walked up to her room only to find Rhea sleeping peacefully on the bed.

“Typical Rhea” She sighed as she quickly scanned the room looking for something to hit her. Nothing in the room caught her attention, they were all hard objects which will hurt Rhea if she used it on her, so she had to settle for the extra pillow on the bed which Rhea wasn’t using.

She hit the pillow hard on Rhea making her scream into reality in fright.

” What’s the meaning of this Cindy?” She yelled in shock and anger.

” I should ask you that Rhea, why are you on the bed?” Cindy interrogated.

” I want to sleep, don’t disturb me” she replied as she turned to sleep.

” Are you serious? Rhea you left me on the cushion and came to sleep here” Cindy shouted.

“Oh, that” Rhea replied as she sat upright.

“Yeah, why are you so selfish?”Cindy questioned.

“Selfish?” She questioned with raised eyebrows, we are both selfish” she continued.

“We? Me and you?” Cindy questioned pointing to herself and Rhea simultaneously.

“Yes, we! Have you forgotten the saying that birds of the same feathers flock together”Rhea answered.

” Your crazy Rhea” Cindy said as she laughed at her friend’s answer.

Rhea was right, they were both selfish and had the same character, She knew if she was in Rhea’s place she would have done exactly the same thing.

” Go and prepare breakfast, I will quickly have a shower” Cindy said .

” Prepare breakfast? Am not doing that instead you prepare breakfast and I have a shower” retorted Rhea .

” Why should it be like that? Tell me why your avoiding cooking” Cindy inquired peering at her friend’s face.

” I can’t cook” Rhea confessed.

Immediately, Cindy couldn’t control herself from laughing, she laughed at her friend’s silly answer but stopped after seeing Rhea’s face which could tell she was serious.

“Your not serious right?” She asked.

“Am dead serious, stop pretending you don’t know that” Rhea answered.

“I thought you enrolled in an online cooking class?”

“Yes I did but I dropped out the next day” she answered honestly.

“Are you kidding me, Rhea you paid a huge amount for that ” Cindy yelled.

” Stop it, it’s the past now and now the present is that I can’t cook ” she muttered.

” Goddammit… What will I do to you ?” Cindy asked.

“Just make some scrambled eggs for breakfast” she answered with a grin.

” Your crazy ” Cindy answered as she grabbed her towel and went to the bathroom to have a shower.

After about 20 minutes she came out only to find out Rhea was not the room, she turned to her wardrobe to pick an outfit when she heard someone laughing downstairs, She listened carefully and recognized it as Rhea’s voice.

It sounded like she was talking to someone on the phone maybe the guy who she claimed to be “Just a friend” or another random person but whoever it was, he or she was driving happiness into her head. She sounded all joyful and happy.

Cindy quickly dressed up in a short blue gown and a leather jacket to match as she quickly wore her leather boots and removed the pack of cigarettes in her purse and then added more cash. She finished and rushed downstairs to meet Rhea who was still on her call.

She ignored her and went to the kitchen to make herself breakfast.

She dropped her purse on the table while she got settled in making scrabbled eggs.

After about 15 minutes, Rhea came looking all clean and beautiful.

” You showered? I thought you were on a call?”she asked surprised.

“Yeah, am really hungry ” Rhea answered gently stirring the cup of coffee.

“Take, have some toasts and the scrambled eggs you asked for ” Cindy said handing her a plate which she collected as she sat down to eat immediately.

” So what hairstyle do you plan on doing?” Rhea asked after a few bites from her toast.

“I don’t know, am still confused ” she muttered bitterly.

” Why not cut it short” Rhea suggested mockingly.

Cindy raised her eyebrows in shock as she yelled,

“Cut my hair? My Long black hair is my pride, am not changing the colour nor will I cut it”

” Alright, we will think of something when we get to the salon ” Rhea said.

After that they ate silently, with only the sounds of chewing of toasts and stirring of coffee heard.

They finished breakfast and left the house immediately, it was already 10 in the morning and they had to finish before 3pm.

” Which hair salon do you suggest?” Cindy asked as she turned on the car ignition.

” There is one close to the store where we buy groceries, I can’t really remember the name, just drive to the grocery store and we can figure out what to do after there ” she answered.

Cindy nodded as she drove the car out the driveway and turned right heading for the grocery store.

The drive was supposed to be a 20 minutes drive and she prayed silently for everything to work out as planned.

The traffic light on the 14th street stopped them and she waited patiently for the lights to turn green.

She felt happiness within her at the thought of revenging and also seeing her sister again.

She thought of everything that had happened to her and promised herself to find out about herself.

” Rhea, after I find my sister I will make plans to find out more about myself ” She said.

“Yes that’s true and who knows your sister might have the information of your family ” Rhea whispered.

“It’s really funny, I don’t even know my parents , all I know is that they died in a car accident, I don’t even know there names ” she said as she sobbed quietly.

“It’s okay Cindy, don’t cry” Rhea said gradually drying her tears with a clean handkerchief.

” You know, when I was in the orphanage, I overheard them saying my parents died in a manipulated car accident and I had a twin sister whose name was Cathy ” she explained.

” Don’t worry about that, once you get the information about your sister then you can find out more about your family ”

“Yes, that’s true ” she said and smiled at the thought of knowing her parents and family.

The light turned green and she drove with happiness.

“The happiness to know who she was”.
