Chapter 29
After Vincent, the rest of the Violet Moon pack and I left to go home. To think that was nice. I had a home. Only five members from the Dark Moon pack decided to join Violet Moon. Most had stayed and three that were closest to Dane left to be Rogues as they could not pledge allegiance to either pack.
On the drive home I wondered if I would see them one day on the battlefield. My father was still out there rounding up new rogues, no doubt to replace his last ones. I shook at the thought. Vincent, who was riding in the back with me, snuggled me tighter to him. "So, when we get back, do you remember what you agreed before all this happened?" Vincent said as he rested his chin on my head. "We are moving in!!" Sasha screamed in my head. As if I hadn't already remembered.
"What did I agree to? So much has happened: I was kidnapped, almost died, you almost died, I became an Alpha and unbecame an Alpha..." I smiled up at Vincent jokingly.
"Fillian!" Both Sasha and Vincent yelled.
"Yes, I remember," I said. "Now how am I going to break it to Katie?"
"Already done. Eric told her this morning. He was sad to be leaving the Brown's house but excited to be living closer to Eric. Why are women so drawn to him?"
"He is kind, a good listener, and good looking," I said. Waiting for the growl that came too quickly.
"I will kill him." Vincent growled.
"You will do no such thing. If I wanted, I could choose him." This made Vincent tense. I went on. "The moon goddess told me I could choose a mate and, once marked, they become my true mate. We are mates by the goddess's wish, but as Sasha is her daughter, I could choose. I only get to keep Sasha now if I choose correctly. Eric is more like a brother, and I have no attraction to him like I do you."
With that, he snuggled me back into him and we rode the rest of the way in silence.
"I need to check up on some things in my office. Go check around the rooms. Anything you want changed or added is yours." Vincent said, bending over and giving me a kiss on the top of my head.
To my surprise, all my things and Katie's things had been moved. Once I was done looking at my new space, I headed to Vincent's Office to ask where Katie was. Apparently, Katie had gone to school. Mrs. Brown, Diane, and Vincent's sister Val were all waiting for me in his office.
"Thank the Goddess you have returned to us." Diane said. She wrapped me in a hug.
"I think Vincent was ready to tear down the whole packed house when you were gone. We had to replace his desk four times." Val jested at her brother. I just shook my head at him.
"What time do I need to pick Katie up from school?" I asked Mrs. Brown
"I can do that dear," Mrs. Brown replied. "It gives this old woman a sense of purpose. If you are willing, I would like to come to the pack house each day to pick her up and drop her off. That is if you agree."
I could sense hope in her voice.
"Well, if I am going to be a Luna in the future, I will need a lot of help. Not only with Katie, but with how to be a Luna. If you can help with Katie, that would be much appreciated. Diane is up for the task of training me?" I hoped she would say yes.
"I am. I also don't think it will take much training as my son has told us you are a great Luna and Alpha." Vincent smiled as he tried to pretend to be looking at some papers on his desk.Content is © by NôvelDrama.Org.
"Yes, we have a lot to tell you if you haven't already heard," I said, looking over at Vincent, who looked up at me and smiled.
"I believe lunch should be ready soon in the kitchen if you want to meet some more people," Val said. "Also, I think tomorrow we should go shopping."
"Tomorrow, she is busy, but you can go on Friday." Vincent chimed in.
"Lunch sounds wonderful. I must ask though, what day is it? I think I lost track of time when I was unconscious." This made the other ladies in the room gasp. Apparently, Vincent hadn't told them everything.
"Dear, it is Tuesday," Diane said. I smiled back.
"You have me busy till Friday?" I asked Vincent. "I just got back. What is there possibly to do?"
"Ladies, she will meet you in two hours for lunch," Vincent said as he escorted them out. Once the door was shut, he walked over to me.
"You were kidnapped, almost died, I almost died, and you almost left me to be an Alpha in your own right. All this was t*****e. We need some time to get to know each other. You also need to rest and going shopping with Val will be more tiring than any battle." He joked and gave me a kiss.
"I think I would like to take a shower. I am dirty from my travels back, "I said. I turned to smile at him. "Have fun with your work."
He picked me up and carried me through the hall to his room. Once inside, he stripped us of our clothes, and we went entwined into the shower. There was no telling where one started and the other stopped. With my back against the wall, and my legs wrapped tight around him, he took it. The ecstasy of my release made my legs jello.
When he went to put me down, I almost crumbled. He grabbed me and sat me on the side of the bathtub. He got two warm towels and started to dry me off. He was leaning over me to dry my hair. His still naked form in front of me. I took him in my mouth. "Filli!" He groaned out as he lifted straight. I could see his eyes shifting back and forth between Vincent and Marcus. He was fighting to maintain control. Soon his hands were in my hair, and he assisted in the movement. I tilted my head up to open my throat as he spilled salted cherries in me.
He picked me up and moved me to bed. He grabbed the towels and dried himself off. He dressed back into his clothes as I laid on the bed admiring. "If you don't hurry up and get dressed you will miss lunch with the girls. I think you have 2 minutes." With that, I hurried put on a summer dress and pulled my hair into a high ponytail which I braided down my back. I gave Vincent a kiss and ran down the stairs to the kitchen. I must have looked a sight and when I got there Vincent's mom and Mrs. Brown just smiled in approval. I went through the line and sat next to Val.
"Holy hell! He left a hickey. I guess that is one way to mark you," she laughed. I tried to cover it up.
"Valerie!" Diane said. "Language."
"Look!" Val handed me a mirror from her purse. Sure enough, there was a hickey right where my mark should have been.
Lunch went by quickly with Val planning on all the places we would shop on Friday. Everything went on like normal for the next few days. Katie was breaking into a new routine. Vincent and I were getting to know each other.
Late Thursday evening, Vincent was linked by Dr. Rosenbaum that he had Katie's results and more information on mine. We made plans to meet early Friday before I was to go shopping.
"Alpha and Fillian, it is great to see you," Dr. Rosenbaum said, taking a seat in the chair in Vincent's office across from where we sat on the couch.
"You said you had additional results." I said, holding my breath. Vincent took my hand and rubbed his thumb across my knuckles to soothe me.
"Yes. Let me start with you. You do have the same genetics as royal blood but are missing a few pieces to be closely related. Also, going through your DNA, I found some places where it was splitting into additional chromosomes, but in a good way. It looks like some pieces are frayed. I assume that this is where your wolf has frayed from your magic. If what you say is true, the mark will bring them together."
I looked at Vincent. Then back at the doctor. "But how?"
"Well, what we know is that when wolves mate and mark those pieces of each DNA combines. That is how we can sense and feel each other even if we can't see it. I would like to take some more blood to see if your being close to Vincent has started the process of binding." He took out the syringe and I gave him my arm. Thinking back, I could already feel Vincent when he was in the fight. Does that make him my true mate? I didn't feel anything with Dane, not even pain when I rejected him.
"Now about Kaite." Dr. Rosenbaum had finished drawing my blood. "I will start with the most revealing news. She is your sister."
