Chapter 673
Chapter 673
Serenity felt as it she was being pressured into marrying Jackson Exclusive content from NôvelDrama.Org.
“To tell you the truth…” she began, “I don’t think we’re that different from a married couple right now.”
She thought of how they had been living together for awhile now and how they had even been sleeping together every night. The only difference between them and an actual married couple was nothing but a marriage certificate–amere piece of paper. “There’s a world of difference!” he murmured in a husky voice. “Right now, everyone regards you as Ms. Lewis, not Mrs. Valer. But I want you to be completely mine, and I want to be completely yours!”
This only made Serenity feel like Jackson was giving too much weight to that mere piece of paper, so she blurted out, “But married couples get divorced all the time, you know!
In the next instant, Jackson’s expression changed dramatically. His deep dark eyes became even more unfathomable now. “So you’re saying that even if we do get married, we’ll get divorced one day, anyway?”
He spoke in a soft voice, yet in that silent room, each word he said seemed to ring very clearly in her ears. She could feel his arms tighten around her, and she could even sense that they were trembling slightly.
“I never meant to say that we’re definitely getting a divorce one day,” she explained. “I only feel that getting married alone doesn’t guarantee that we’d belong to each other completely. It’s really up to us, not a marriage certificate.”
She bit her red lips gently, then told Jackson, “As long as we love each other, we’ll belong to each other. But one day, if we ever stopped loving one another, we won’t belong to each other anymore.”
“Will you ever stop loving me, then?” he asked with scorching eyes, yet his voice was gentle and cautious.
She could not help but chuckle.
“Jack!” she cried. “I simply can’t think of a reason to ever stop loving you!”
He had been so kind to her and done so many things for her. He had found her when she was at rock bottom, yet he was still willing to love her unreservedly. How could she ever stop loving such a man? Without her realizing it, her love for him had already grown deep and profound.
Unbeknownst to her, though, those words of hers only made him feel gloomier
No reason to stop loving him? But there was precisely such a reason!
“Love me,” he beseeched her, looking at her with pleading eyes, with eyes that spoke of intense longing and attachment.” Love me till you simply can’t leave me, okay?”
She was lost in his eyes. It felt like his gaze was a net that pulled her in and trapped her whole body, leaving her completely helpless and unable to struggle away, unable and unwilling to escape him.
“Okay,” was the only word that escaped her lips in a soft voice.
The next thing she knew, he had already swept her off her feet and picked her up in his arms. He then carried her toward the large bed beside them before gently placing her down on it. He reached out his hand to caress her hair before once again. begging her, “Serenity… Please don’t ever leave me…”
Because he could no longer imagine how he would endure it if she ever left him! He just felt that when it came to Serenity, he could never be at ease. He would be anxious to have her when he was not with her, yet he would be worried sick of losing her when she was with him! He was never his usual self when he was with her!
Serenity reached up both of her hands to hold his face then made the first move to kiss him on his lips herself.
“Never,” she promised him. “I’ll never leave you…”
All she wanted to do was shower this man with as much love as she could!
The morning light shone through her eyelids, waking her up and forcing her to open her eyes while still in a sleepy daze.
She was still so sleepy! It felt like she had not gotten much sleep at all last night!
The first thing she say was that familiar ceiling. She lay there staring blankly at it for a while before suddenly remembering what had happened last night. The thought immediately made her blush.
Fortunately, the sun was now high in the sky, and Jackson had already gone to work.
