Chapter 660
Chapter 660
Lynette bit her lips slightly. “So, if I hadn’t saved you, you wouldn’t have been nice to me?”
She meant for him to disagree. Instead, she saw his indifferent eyes staring at her quietly, almost as if looking at a stranger.
Lynette immediately regretted what she had just said, her eyes fluttering with a hint of panic. “I–I just want you to be nice to
not because I saved your life, but.. Something else…” She stammered in defense.
“Alright. Don’t overthink it,” Lucas said plainly. “It’s getting late. Go get same rest.” As he spoke, he opened the car door and was about to get into the car.
Lynette suddenly said, “Take care, Luke!”
Lucas stiffened at Lynette’s sudden cry. Hearing her call him Luke reminded him of his old memory. The scene of the little girl carrying him down the hill suddenly flashed before his eyes.
The little girl had kept talking to him, afraid he would pass out because of the injury and bleeding.
“What’s your name? If you don’t tell me, I’ll call you Luke. It’s on the corner of your clothes. Is that your name?”
“Luke! Don’t fall asleep! If you sleep, you’ll never wake up again!”
“I’ll tell you a story. What do you want to hear? I’m a good storyteller! Luke! Answer me!”
“Luke Luke…”
The sound of the little girl calling him Luke had been ringing in his ears repeatedly throughout the years, waking him up from his dreams. The little girl had saved him. He would not have survived without her!
Lucas spun on his heels, his gaze pinned to Lynette. “Okay. I will.” The coldness in his eyes seemed to have faded slightly.
Lynette waited until Lucas‘ car drove away before the expression on her face finally changed. She bit on her lower lip, her
hands clenched into fists. Property © of NôvelDrama.Org.
Either way, she had already replaced Serenity. As long as Serenity did not remember, Lynette would be the little girl who had
saved Lucas‘ life.
Lucas had been looking for the little girl for so many years. He must have deep feelings for her. Lynette could make good use of it and change her life drastically!
Lynette swore to herself. This time, she had to seize the opportunity at all costs!
Lucas drove and listened to the song “Walk of Life‘ in the car. The little girl had sung this song while carrying him on her back. Listening to her singing seemed to ease the pain in his body.
Lucas thought it would have been good for them to go on like this. He had finally found her, but why was he still unhappy?
It was Lynette. Lynette had shown him pictures of her as a child. Lynette knew about the song “Walk of Life‘ and knew his nickname, Luke. She was able to tell him a lot more about what had happened back
then.
Lucas had never told anyone about those things. There was no way Lynette could have heard it from anyone else. It meant Lynette was indeed the one he had been looking for.
However… Pity he felt nothing after meeting Lynelte. Lynette seemed like a stranger to him.
Lucas drove back to his residence in Solaria. After getting out of the car, he headed straight to his studio. He looked around the room at all the paintings he had made.
