Nine Months Too Late 37
Some hours later, and things didn't get any better. Westley had
tried reaching out to the partners himself, but they wouldn't even meet up with him. With some communicating through their assistants, they came up with lame excuses of being in a meeting, being out of the country. Some were not even reachable at all. Westley laughed as he thought of it in his car. Immagine people making up excuses to meet with him. He was someone that people usually begged for attention! He was someone everybody wanted on their sides! So, how could they ignore him? Something was going on.
"What if it's Kage? What if he found a way to get the partners to pull out?" Westley's second sister - Grace - squealed after he narrated everything to them.
"What're you on about? Kage can't have that much influence on Westley! His mum disagreed.
"Oh, mum, Grace rolled her eyes. "Don't get me wrong, Westley is powerful and all, but there's always someone higher. And I know we don't like him, so I hate to break this to you, but Kage is way more powerful than Westley. It's possible the partners chose his side over W "Shut it!" Eleanor snapped.
But deep down, they knew that was the truth. They knew only someone that powerful could affect the partners' minds, and with Kage being Westley's top enemy at the moment...
"We have to stop him, Victoria said. "Otherwise, he might do something more disastrous."
They kept talking about it, but the whole time. Westley was silent..
It was the following day.
Sylvie had the phone in her hand, giving it a long blank stare.
You might regret this, a tiny voice whispered in her head.
She drew a deep breath, going over the possible consequences once again. God, she really hoped she wouldn't regret it. Summoning the courage she needed, she placed the call.
Kage was at a wedding complex with Lana, shopping for some essentials. He's been postponing the shopping for far too long. Lana was beginning to nag too much about it. So, he had to give it a go once and for all
He was seated on the couch, going through pictures of their available suits on their iPad, while Lana kept trying on some wedding dresses, blushing endlessly as she looked in the mirror. Her friends were with her, helping out and making it all the more fun.
Kage was getting bored already, but he needed to finish it up once and for all.
His phone rang beside him. Checking it out, he was a little surprised to see it was Sylvie.
Hm
He excused himself to take the call.
"Kage speaking." he said formally.
He knew she must've rolled her eyes in that moment.
"Hi. I need to speak to you. In person," Sylvie said.
Kage couldn't understand why he felt a little bit of excitement.
Fine, Where
When the call was over, he walked up to Lana. "I have to leave. Something came up."
Her friends had stepped aside. Lana, who had a wedding dress on, paled instantly. "What're you saying? You haven't even made a pick yet. Neither have I Kage, this is..."
I just told you something came up, his tone was hard
"But can't it wait? This is more important, Kage!" It was all she could do not to yell.
Kage please, you promised me today. We still have a lot to do from here. Can you just not ruin it?"
Kage's eyes zeroed on her for a short time before stepping closer. "I've told you to watch your attitude with me."
Lana gulped heavily, her heart beating frantically. But she had done her best to keep her cool! She didn't even yell at him.
*I'm... I'm s..." She was cut off by him walking away.
God damnit! She gripped onto the overflowing part of her dress, her chest heaving with anger.
She grunted, kicking the air.
Kage headed for the location Sylvie had asked him to meet with her. It was in her hotel, by the pool side.
She was wearing a free knee-length dress, her hair parked in a ponytail. But he could peek her baby bump from the light dress. It made his heart beat in a certain kind of way each time he looked at it "I've decided to accept your proposal," she said. "But there'll be some adjustments,"This material belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.
She crossed her arms. "Yes, I'll move in with you, let you protect the babies' like you want. But you just know something- Westley and I are engaged."
That was a major blow,
Kage never imagined hearing Sylvie was engaged to someone could ever make him feel that way. He felt disgust, discomfort,
annoyance.
He scoffed. "To Westley?" He said it like it was a joke. "How the hell did that happen?"
"How else do engagements happen?" Sylvie scoffed, showing the ring finger to him. "He proposed, and I accepted. The offer has actually been on for a while now, I just accepted today" She reflected on how she'd told Westley about it:
"I'm moving in with Kage. That's the only way he's agreed to get my dad into the One Trillion Group. Plus, I know him, he's never going to stop until he gets what he wants," she'd told him.
Westley, had of course, tried to kick against it. But it got better when she told him, "we'll be engaged. I've decided to accept your proposal before moving in with him. That way, he'll know I'm already with you and wouldn't try anything funny." While Westley was still angry over the moving in part, he was beyond joyous that Sylvie had finally accepted his proposal. BACK TO PRESENT.
"So, you getting married to another man while you pregnant with my child?" Kage asked, a disgusted look in his face. "Excuse me? Aren't you getting married to another woman while I'm pregnant for you? Why do I have to live my life differently?" He thumped the table. "I am not cool with this, Sylvie. It can be anyone else but Westley! I don't want him around you while you carrying my kids."
"Well, sorry, but you don't really expect me to break up with my fiance just because you, my ex-husband, don't like him, do you?" "Fuck, Sylvie! I'm being serious here. I don't like that guy!"
"And do you have any idea how much I detest Lana? That girl has always been a pain in my ass. Yet, you don't see me asking

you to leave her, do you? So, what makes you think you can control my love life?"
"Control your love life?" He laughed. "Please, I've got better things to do. I'm just trying to save you from another epic disaster, especially now that you're carrying my kids. I really hope they don't carry these genes of yours."
Sylvie felt wounded. "I'm not gonna sit here and watch you insult me! Westley and I are engaged, just like you and Lana are. If you can't accept it, then you can choke down on your deal. But I'll, leave. I'll go far away with my kids and Westley." His eyes burnt a fierce red. "You wouldn't dare!"
Sylvie was so grateful they were the only ones in the pool. It'd have been embarrassing for strangers to see them that way.
She stood up. "Sorry for making you come all the way here for nothing, then, she turned to leave.
"Get back and sit."
