Chapter79 A Happy Family
A Happy Family
"Okay." A staff then brought over a baby tiger and taught Richard how to hold it.
Baby tigers always looked harmless and tame, but their scratches or bites could always spell disaster.
So People are not usually allowed to take photos with them.
The two children watched Richard interacting with the tiger excitedly. Brandon, who had always put on
a cold face, also displayed an unprecedented interest in what was happening.
Brandon pulled Bonny back a bit to maintain a safe distance.
Bonny held her chin with both hands and asked the staff beside her, "Does it have a name?"
"Yes. Her name is Princess" the woman answered with a warm smile.
"She only eats meat?"
"Of course not. She also eat some fruits as well."
"I see!"
Bonny looked as if she had just known something new and significant.
"Okay, we can take the photo!"
Noticing that the baby tiger didn't resist Richard holding her, the staff told the cameraman to get ready.
"Sir, please sit closer to your wife. You can also use the tools to interact with Princess and the
photographer will capture the scene."
"You can stand closer to your wife, sir!"
Good-looking people were always welcomed everywhere they went. A usual photography session
would usually take five mins, but it has lasted over 10 mins now. At the very beginning, Pearl was a bit
awkward. But then she became somehow affected by the atmosphere as she happily fed the baby tiger
with her kids. The cameraman captured everything. Nôvel(D)rama.Org's content.
At the end, the only copy was given to Pearl. She then carefully put it into her handbad.
She knew that once she left the zoo, the photo couldn't be seen by anyone. But she still felt lucky to
have such a happy afternoon.
Pearl's felt much better after she left the Tiger World. In fact, she began to stop thinking over. Looking
at her children's happy faces, she decided to let the past seven years go. She reckon this afternoon
should be a gift from fate for her family.
There were more and more dark clouds gathered in the sky.
Soon, there was a heavy downpour. Richard and Pearl brought the children out from the Hippo House.
They reached the Dolphin Auditorium just as the rain became heavier.
Bonny was held in Richard's arms and covered by his coat, who poked her head out and said, "It's
raining dog and cat!"
Pearl quickly took some tissue out and passed it to Richard. "You're all wet."
Rain had drenched Richard's once neat and clean hair. He casually brushed off the raindrops off his
chin with the tissue, asking, "Do you get wet?"
Pearl shook her head. "No, luckily we have an umbrella."
But the umbrella she'd brought was only big enough to cover Brandon and herself.
Bonny revealed a small hand holding the edge of Richard's suit. She smiled and said, "Mommy, I have
an umbrella too. See!"
Pearl glared at her and blamed, "It's all because of you. Uncle Richard wouldn't get wet like he is now
if you didn't insist on coming here today."
"It's just a little rain." Bonny stuck out her tongue.
"Let's go." Richard said.
For some reason, Pearl felt that Richard was a bit upset.
Was it because he got wet?
Dolphin Auditorium was the biggest indoor auditorium at the zoo. Due to the rain, the place was
crowded with visitors.
However, the rain showed no sign of stopping. Bonny stayed inside Richard's arms tightly and ended
up falling asleep halfway through the show.
"You've been carrying her the whole day. Let me carry her." Pearl felt a bit awkward as she looked at
Bonny scooped up in Richard's arms.
But Richard replied faintly. "It's okay. The rain isn't going to end soon."
Bonny's feather-like eyelashes moved slightly. She looked like she was having a beautiful dream, as
evident from her pouting lips. She even mumbled "Daddy" in Richard's embrace.
Richard held up his suit to cover Bonny.
Summer storms were quick to arrive and leave, but that day, the rain just refused to stop.
It was almost evening. A white Porsche was dashing through the street, its wipers working hard to clear
the windshield from the rainwater, but to no avail. The storm was just too ferocious.
The car gradually slowed down. A woman's face was reflected in the rearview mirror. It looked even
gloomier than the sky.
A "ding", she received a message.
Adriana swiped the screen of her phone. Her fingers tightened around the phone the moment she lay
her eyes on the photo displayed on screen. Her grip was so tight that she looked like she was plunging
her fingers into the screen.
"Miss, it's raining too heavily. I afraid the zoo will be closed by the time we arrive. Are we still going
there?"
The driver asked nervously.
Adriana pursed her lips. After a while, she said: "No."
"Then I'll send you home." The driver breathed a sigh of relief.
"No," Adriana held her cell phone tightly and ordered, "Send me to Zellweger Mansion."
"Okay."
Droplets of the heavy rain made loud noise as they came crashing against the car windows.
After giving orders to the driver, Adriana made a call. Her voice became quite enthusiastic, "Mrs.
Campbell, it's me, Adriana."
...
"How are you doing? We haven't contacted each other for so long, have we? My cousin just brought
back some excellent coffee beans from abroad. Perhaps I could ask you out for evening tea?"
...
"No, I'm not busy. There are many people helping with the wedding."
...
"By the way, how is Mr. Campbell doing lately? I'm sure the Ministry of Education must be bustling with
work right now! I may have a favour to ask."
...
"Not, not me. I have a friend who's just returned home from studying abroad. She has two kids who
needs to go to school. I just want to know how complicated the procedure is."
...
"Okay, let's talk about it when we meet. Oh, it's urgent. I'll make sure to brew up the coffee for you and
your husband at home."
After she hang up, the screen quickly changed its display to show a photo depicting a happy family of
four.
Inside the picture, the man looked happy. However, Adriana's impression turned gloomy as she noticed
his expression.
