Chapter 65 Just Act Accordingly
Chapter 65 Just Act Accordingly
Pearl went back home with Priscillia's gifts, After she left Dr. Wale's house.
Bonny loved meat the best. Her eyes lit up when she saw the roast beef. She put down the pizza and
followed after Pearl, waiting for her to heat the beef.
Pearl received a phone call from Ethan when the two children were eating.
Pearl answered the call and walked into the living room. "Hey? What's up?"
"I'm just checking to see if you're feeling better." Ethan replied.
"Sort of." Pearl stretched her injured arm, "I don't have to go to the hospital after this, and I can just
change the bandage at home. In a few days, it'll probably heal."
"How about your work? Did the hospital allow you return to work?"
"Not yet." Pearl was a little worried about that, too. She sat down on the sofa and leaned against it.
"But I met Dr. Wale today, and he said he'll figure it out."
"Dr. Wale is too outspoken. Two years ago, I met him at an international academic exchange. I don't
think he can solve it."
"What? Dr. Simpson is Dr. Wale's student, so he should be willing to compromise."
"That depends on if no one stands in his way."
Pearl was puzzled. "What do you mean?"
"Are you getting more stupid after returning back?" Ethan moced her, "Think about it. You started out
as a normal doctor. You took care of your patients, but all of a sudden, the patient's family
misunderstood you. Then rumors started spreading like wildfire, and you were suspended. After that,
you became a medical expert on set, and now you're injured. Don't you think that everything sounds a
little suspicious?"
"Do you think that someone is pulling strings behind my back?" Pearl frowned.
"You finally got it?"
"I didn't provoke anyone, so who would do this to me?"
"This world is not that beautiful, you know. Are you sure no one would do this to you? Your colleagues
might be jealous of you for being young and promising. Also, you have rivals in your love life. All of
them don't want you to stay in Kityall City."
Ethan's words made Pearl's heart sink.
The hospital paid her high salary to return to Kityall City. She was young and promising, so she would
stand a huge chance to get a promotion. Thus, she would be her colleagues' biggest rival.
Yet, that was definitely not a solid reason for them to frame her like that.
As for her rivals in love life, she could name a few who did not want her to stay in Kityall City. Adriana,
Evelina, and Richard's mother.
Pearl analysed, "It shouldn't be Mrs. Zellweger. Before I was suspended, she had no idea about I was
back."
"Who do you think would do it, between your sister and Adriana?"
"How did Mrs. Zellweger know that I came back?" Pearl was deep in her thoughts.
As far as she knew, after Richard took over Zellweger Group, Mrs. Zellweger retired and didn't interfere
any more. It was impossible for Mrs. Zellweger to keep an eye on her.
So how did she know?
"It wasn't Evelina." Pearl breathed deeply and exhaled slowly. "Adriana did it."
Suddenly, she understood something.
Richard questioned Pearl sbout she showed Mrs. Zellweger evidence that Adriana abused the maid.
He assumed that Pearl was trying to wreck his marriage, but where did he get the photos?
Mrs. Zellweger was not that bored to keep an eye on her future daughter-in-law and the maid. Besides,
Mrs. Zellweger would not care about the evidence at all.
So, there was only one possibility.
Mrs. Zellweger got all her sources from Adriana, and they worked together to put on a good show. Original from NôvelDrama.Org.
While, Pearl became the victim.
After all, Richard would never believe that his mother and fiancée were putting on a show.
After connecting all the details, a chill ran down Pearl's spine. Mrs. Zellweger and Adriana were toying
with her.
"I told you that back then, many people were involved in that incident, especially those who are close to
you. Well, don't trust anyone in Kityall City." Ethan's voice came from the other end of the phone.
Pearl clenched her fists and said, "Okay."
" What are you going to do later? If it doesn't work, then don't return to the hospital. I'll try to solve it
next month when I go back to Kityall City."
"It's fine." Pearl's eyes were glowing, and she said in a firm face, "I'll just act accordingly. Moreover, I
can't just sit around and watch. I think Adriana is hiding something, so she doesn't want me to stay
here."
Was Adriana joined in the incident seven years ago? Did she work with Mrs. Zellweger to frame Pearl?
Everything seemed a little clearer.
Pearl was never a pushover. Walking away seven years ago was not an escape. It was a helpless
choice she made to give birth to two children. She never forgot that she would punish those people.
Knowing that he couldn't persuade her. Ethan warned, "You must be careful. If you're in danger, don't
act rashly. I'll go back soon."
"Ok".
After hanging up, Pearl's heart was pounding.
In the past seven years abroad, she had also been paying attention to what was happening in Kityall
City, but probably because she had left, thing were peaceful. In recent years, nothing has changed
except that Adriana had changed from her best friend to Richard's fiancee.
However, Pearl knew clearly that it was impossible to cover the incident seven years ago. If she came
back, those people would not just sit still and watch.
Sure enough, things had hints already.
It was afternoon, and the scorching sun is burning.
In the Gerbera Residence, which was famous in the suburb of Kityall City. It was so quiet that the birds
chirping could be heard.
On the second floor of Gerbera Residence, which was over thirty acres in size. The black curtains were
drawn in the master bedroom. The lights in the room were dim, like the middle of the night.
"Bang", the sound of breaking porcelain came from the bedroom, followed by the man's cold and
angry voice, "Are you going to scald me?"
The caregiver begged on her knees instantly, "Mr. Casper, I didn't mean to. I'm sorry. Please forgive
me."
"Get out! You're fired now!"
"Master."
"Got out."
The command was filled with rage, and the room was in dead silence.
After a while, the caregiver slumped out of the room as she was crying. She was young, and she could
not bear it. Her eyes were swollen from crying, and she met Lucas, the butler of the villa.
" All right. Stop crying. Go and get a two-month salary from the treasury. You don't have to come
again."
Then, Lucas glanced at the bedroom and asked his assistant, "How many does that make this
month?"
The assistant answered helplessly, "Three."
It was just half of this month, but three caregivers had already been changed.
