Chapter 2122
Chapter 2122
Hendrix kept his word. With that, he zeroed in on me, who had kept a small distance from him. He then held my hand as if he was afraid that there were onlookers who didn't notice us. I blushed and said nothing.
Though I felt no embarrassment, I couldn't help finding it odd when a large crowd kept staring at us. When taking a stroll in the night market, being comfortable and free was important, so what was the group of people doing following us?
I had to think of a way to get rid of them. When we turned the corner, we happened to be outside the flagship store I was in before. Without a second thought, I dragged Hendrix through the door and went straight up to the VIP area on the second floor.
As soon as we stepped through the door, a large crowd poured in. An attendant was completely taken aback by that situation. "Everyone, our store has limited capacity. Kindly get in the queue..."
As I snickered at my wit, I sped up my pace and dashed upstairs.
Upon arriving on the second floor, we heard the staff downstairs having a conflict with the guests.
"My apologies, the second floor is the VIP area of our store. You're not allowed to enter, thank you." "It's merely a membership card. How much is it? Let's take one. Who are you looking down on?"This content © Nôv/elDr(a)m/a.Org.
"Of course, Sir. As long as you spend 38,888 dollars, you will be automatically upgraded to a VIP customer. Would you like to pay with credit card or cash?"
The man fell silent.
Nosy people would usually not spend a lot of money for the sake of watching the fun. As they were sure that we would eventually have to leave the shop, the crowd dispersed in resentment.
Leaning to look over the railing, I was relieved to see that business had resumed in the store.
Hendrix leaned in to glance at the lower floor before backing away, saying, "They just want to share our joy with us. You were too worked up about it." As long as it was not something to do with work, his train of thought was likely simple and direct.
Hendrix's romantic cells were pretty
much used up at the wedding. My
explanation would likely not be
enough to clarify to him the

wanting to share the joy and donging

"Yes, but I want us both to be in peace today without any distractions." I explained and beckoned to call the nearest staff over, "Hello, do you have any other outfits besides western costumes?"
"I'm not sure what you mean." The
attendant glanced at us with a

frown. It then dawned on her before she expressed his willingness to help us out, "We have western costumes for the staff of the store and masks distributed by the organizer of the festival to merchants. All the two of you need to do is register your membership accounts to receive them.
Furthermore, the storage room on the second floor has direct access to the back door of the store. I will lead the way later."
Then, the staff took us to the counter for registration. I didn't have a membership, so I had to borrow Freya's.
Upon entering the storage room, the staff found us the clothes and mask. She then pointed towards the direction of the stairs at the back and retreated.
With such a friendly service, I could
not help praising the staff when putting my clothes on. "The staff is so quick on her feet. She knows exactly what I want. This is an eye- opening experience for me!" Content

As Hendrix tied the girdle on his arm, he raised his gaze to glance at me, saying faintly, "The wedding dress was customized here."
"You have a good taste... What?"
I froze mid- compliment. She was not a mindreader but could recognize us by our wedding dressings, so she was willing to help when she realized what we were trying to do.
Hendrix had realized this early on, but he looked on as if nothing had happened when I felt deeply grateful to the staff. He snickered without revealing the truth.
Scum! He was intentionally making a fool out of me!
When I realized this, I shot him a glare. "Hendrix!"
