My Pretty Sweetheart (Arianna)

Chapter 2057

Chapter 2057

Out of the corner of my eye, I caught a glimpse of Hendrix. He didn't take it personally. He stood there and waited for me, reaching out his hand, beckoning me to hold him.

I smiled and walked towards him. Just as I took his hand, Anne and Wynn popped up and looked up at us solemnly.

"What? Do you guys want to come as well?" I asked tentatively.

"Yes." Wynn nodded, saying, "Wherever Aurelia is, I'll be there. I'll protect her."

He was so gentle and serious when he said this.

"You are very considerate." I reached out my hand and patted him on the shoulder encouragingly.

The bond between siblings was inseparable. It stemmed from how they interacted with each other in their younger days. It would be unreasonable to reject Wynn's request.

Looking up again, I met Anne's gaze this time. Both of us chuckled before I asked, "There's no need to say anything. Wynn wants to protect Aurelia. You want to protect your younger brother and sister as well, don't you?"

Anne giggled. There seemed to be starlight shimmering in her eyes, they were warm yet familiar.

We had no choice but to bring all of them with us.

We took the three kids with us. Only Dunn was left behind. Although the child was young, he was as smart as Aaron. As soon as he saw Aurelia and the others walking out, he held up the toy helicopter in his hand and went after them.

As their son had run off, Aaron and Emma couldn't sit still, of course.

When we left the house, it turned into a night out for the family. With all of us together, it was very lively.

It was ten o'clock at night when we arrived at the orphanage.

The children in the orphanage had already fallen asleep. Only the ones Evan had brought back from abroad were waiting in a classroom.

The words "human experiment"

made me think of danger. I thought

that the children involved in the

experiment would be

unrecognizable. After getting out of the car, I was mentally preparing myself for anything. I had to be calm téset a good example for the children. Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.

But when we entered the classroom, what we saw was very surprising.

In the old classroom, there were

more than a dozen children lined up in two neat rows. Although they were dressed in white hospital gowns, their bodies were clean and didn't have any injuries on them. Except for being fearful of strangers,

their faces didn't show any signs of

torture or depression.

I let out a sigh of relief. We should consider this a blessing amidst all of the misfortune we've seen.

Hendrix walked up to the podium and looked around the classroom before asking Evan, "Have you investigated their backgrounds?"

"Yes," Evan replied respectfully, "The orphanage in Mesville has kept most of the records except for these children. Their origins are unclear, so they have been sent here for the time being."

Hendrix didn't react very much after hearing that. As he squinted his dark eyes, he fell deep into his thoughts.

The huge classroom was so quiet that you could hear a pin drop. The children were breathing very heavily, they were very nervous.

Aurelia had always been a bold girl. This was the first time she had seen so many children in one place. While Hendrix was deep in thought, she slipped out from behind me and walked towards

the children.

I wanted to reach out to stop her, but seeing how curious she was, I kept quiet.

Luckily, Wynn was quick to react. He immediately ran forward, held his sister's hand, and walked with her as she looked at the children.

The kids from the first row were all

about the same age, and looked quite immature and timid. Aurelia looked at them and then ignored them She pulled Wynn along with her, and hurried over to the second row.

When they walked past the skinniest kid there, Aurelia suddenly stopped and stared at the child with her big, watery eyes.

After looking at the kid for a little while, she took out a lollipop from her pocket and handed it to the child, "Here you go!"
