My Pretty Sweetheart (Arianna)

Chapter 2043

Chapter 2043

We entered the basement through the garage. Aaron's guards were stationed nearby in casual uniform. This alone would scare off Nathan's accomplices who wanted to rescue Nathan and his wife.

Hendrix had been supporting me with his arm as we walked down into the basement. It was lit up by a dim, yellow light. After making about four turns, we finally saw Nathan and his wife in an underground cage.

Upon entering, I was able to see the man and woman locked up in a cell. This is property © of NôvelDrama.Org.

Nathan was still in his pajamas. He had obviously been taken right from his home. Inside the dark cell, he stood stubbornly and refused to get dirty by the dust on the ground, keeping every bit of his noble upbringing present.

Suanne also refused to sit down. Her face looked pale without makeup, and she looked very distracted. She was like a piece of paper stuck to an iron fence, ready to collapse at any time.

It seemed like they had been standing for the entire day. They didn't notice us until Hendrix helped me stand in front of Suanne. She only came back to her senses when our shadows fell on her face. "Hendrix! You're here. Let us go. We can't stay here anymore. Please, let me and your father go..."

Nathan looked over as well, but he gave them a very condescending glare.

Hendrix ignored Suanne's pleas and looked at Nathan. His voice was indifferent when he said. "You've lost."

"Hum..." Nathan snorted coldly. "What do you mean I've lost to my own son? Doesn't that just happen to prove that I'm a successful father?" "Pooh." Aaron spat on the ground and snapped, "You don't deserve that title!"

Nathan smiled viciously instead of lashing out. He walked to the iron bars with his hands behind his back. He adjusted his glasses slowly. "I have to say. I was surprised that you took such drastic measures to deal with this problem. Hendrix, you've grown. I can finally entrust you with our family's business."

"Is that so..." Hendrix lowered his voice. His gaze was cold, and his voice sounded murderous. "Should I thank you?"

"Of course, you should thank me!" Nathan raised his voice and stared at him, "Do you think you could have reached this point all on your own? Your identity is what got you here."

I've seen shameless people before, but never someone so shameless as him. Even though I was watching from the side, I still couldn't help but grit my teeth throughout their conversation.

Hendrix had won everything, taking

each moment step by step. Even if he had some help along the way, the Roberts family received all of the credit. They raised him well and didn't let him suffer, otherwise, he may have turned out to be a

monster like Nathan.

Upon hearing this, Hendrix didn't feel any better than I did. His tall figure stood in front of the bars, slightly trembling. His fists were clenched tightly, his knuckles cracked. The anger in his heart was evident.

A moment later, he forced himself to

I

keep calm and said slowly, "You knew that you were one of the Marshall family. You could have returned to your ancestral roots. Why did you fake a car accident involving Arianna's grandmother and the Milton family? Why didn't you just kill me? Now, you're even trying your best to get me on board as head of the empire."

Hendrix's heart nearly shattered when he said that last sentence.

My eyes turned red and watery. I walked forward and held his hand, hoping t° 9've him some strength.

Nathan really was a monster and he had taken credit for everything.

"Look at you tivo.

You love each

other so much. If I hadn't arranged everything, do you think you would have even met each other? Son, I've given you a good marriage. Why can't you see that? Why do you blame me instead?"
