My Pretty Sweetheart (Arianna)

Chapter 2039

Chapter 2039

I don't know why but I felt like Nathan had seen right through me.

Hendrix said that he had tried his best to make the Marshall family believe that I, a substitute, was Arianna, but I guess he failed.

Everything he said served as a very direct warning to us.

Since he was sure that I was Arianna, he was determined to get on the good side of Charles and others... they could easily threaten Hendrix and me. Fortunately, Nathan's target wasn't our children.

Things in the living room were on the verge of getting worse, as though we were adding more fuel to the fire. It was like they were speaking ill of themselves devoid of the other's dignity.

Then the butler came over and said, "Sir, Madam, dinner is ready."

This crisis was then averted.

Each of us had a plan to ruin the other. However, it was quite ridiculous how each other withheld out anger and dined on the same table together. This meal was extremely depressing. Hendrix andContent rights belong to NôvelDrama.Org.

I didn't speak to each other.

As for Valerie and the others, they had agreed that if Jordan tried to take them away by force, there was no need to resist. It would be the same for Nathan.

Nathan and his wife were doing everything perfectly. They talked one after another and both of them were experienced in business. Valerie and Pedro, naturally, weren't afraid of them, so they responded appropriately.

Finally, it was time to part ways. Valerie was holding onto my arm as we stood by the roadside. We parted ways with a fake show of sincerity and reluctance just as planned.

Before getting in the car, Hendrix warned Nathan, "I hope you'll do as you say and treat Arianna's family well. Otherwise, I will make the entire Roberts Group pay for it."

The three of us returned just as we arrived.

Even though this was going according to Hendrix's plan, as we moved further and further away from Charles, we all felt uneasy about it.

Probably sensing my nervousness,

Hendrix stretched out his hand to take me into his arms and reassured me. "I promise this to you. Whether it's mother, father or uncle, none of them will get hurt."

Hendrix always kept his promises. He would never promise something he wasn't sure of. Hearing this made some of my worries disappear.

"Don't rush things," Aaron, who was in the front seat, had cut in and said, "We'll be staying awake tonight."

Just as he finished speaking, a bolt

of lightning shot out from the night sky. The trees on both sides of the road swayed left and right. The rumbling of thunder echoed through the clouds. A thunderstorm was soon to follow.

As Aaron said, this was destined to be an extraordinary night.

I went home. After washing up and putting the children to sleep, I put on my coat and went downstairs.

but

Aaron and Hendrix are waiting in the hall. One was sitting on the sofa, holding his chin while the other was standing in front of a window, looking away. The light from outside the window pulled on Hendrix's shadow, making him look somewhat lonesome.

Seeing them like this, I assumed that there was no news yet.

The wait was agonizing.

If everything went well, Hendrix's people would find Nathan's underling's in their hiding spot and capture them.

If things didn't go according to plan, we would have several nights like this for some time.
