Chapter 2033
Chapter 2033
Just as the elevator doors closed shut, I said, "I came with my bag, and it's still with me. What did I leave behind?"
Hendrix calmly watched as the elevator moved upwards and pretended to not have heard anything.
I followed behind him without saying anything. In the blink of an eye, we found ourselves at the part of the mall which sold high end products. Hendrix stopped in front of a shop that sold men's clothing.
Did this mean that he was going to spend money on new clothes like a five-year-old?
As I thought of this, Hendrix had walked in.
Everyone in the capital city knew who Hendrix was. He was immediately brought over to the most luxurious spot in the shop as soon as he stepped in. Every piece of clothing here was created by world-famous fashion designers. Each of them was one of a kind.
As expected, the prices were also one of a kind.
After the salesperson had finished introducing their latest collections in detail, she then proceeded to recommend some of their products to earn a sale. "Mr. Roberts, do you need our professional stylists to pick out some suitable clothing for you?"
"There's no need for that," Hendrix rejected the offer outright. He turned to look at me and said, "Come here."
"Me?" I pointed at myself, "Are you sure?"
Children's clothes were sold as complete sets, so it would still look halfway decent even if it wasn't the best choice. Hendrix's clothes were always in the spotlight, but not me. I didn't have the confidence to pick out clothes for him.
Hendrix slid a hand into his pocket and straightened his posture. "You're right, my clothes are much too rigid. I want to please my wife. Of course, I have to suit her preferences. I'm worried that my wife will lose interest in me sooner or later. How could I allow that to happen?"
Good heavens, he still had a grudge against me.
He made it sound like I was going to divorce him if he didn't change his style of fashion.
The salesperson's face lit up as she looked at me in surprise. She didn't expect to be shocked twice in such a short period of time.
The richest man in town had come with his secret wife!
However, customers who patronized this shop were either rich or noble, so this wasn't unusual. Soon, the salesperson regained her composure and said, "Mrs. Roberts, do you need my assistance? I have a few pieces of clothing that would fit you perfectly."
In contrast to Hendrix's personality, I couldn't risk being seen as bossy and a perfectionist. Besides, I can't stand having people following me all the time.
"It's fine. I can do it by myself."
After that, I plunged into the suit section and chose two sets of leisure styled clothing, which were the same color as Wynn's. They would very obviously look like a father and son pair this way.
Hendrix was a natural born model.
n
He didn't need to try them on because any piece of clothing would fit him perfectly. He asked the n shopping assistant to take his clothes according to his size and then quickly left.
Why was he in such a hurry?
He had left me to pay the bill!
nè
Although Hendrix had resigned from his position in the company, he still had the money to buy clothes. But as I paid the bill, he didn't say anything about it. He just made a face at me and said, "Why would I have money? I've only ever used What you've given me isn't it, wife?"
Upon hearing this, the salesperson who was attending to us at the counter gave me a strange look. It felt like torture...
I swear I will never go shopping with him ever again!
I took a deep breath to calm down. Then, I slowly took out Aaron's card, "I'll pay the bill."This content belongs to Nô/velDra/ma.Org .
The cashier took the card and slid it
over the machine. She then handed it back to me with both of her hands and said Madam, here is your card." "Thank you." I calmly took back my card then bit the bullet through the shame I felt and asked, "Do you know where to send it to?
"Don't worry about that. It'll be a piece of cake to find out where Mr. Roberts's mansion is." The manager said with a hint of flattery.
I nodded in satisfaction before turning to leave without looking back.
It didn't matter whether Hendrix would catch up with me. After confirming that the shop assistant could no longer see me, I quickened my pace and walked towards the elevator.
I pressed the button, ran in, then breathed out deeply after the doors had closed.
Phew...
Compared to being a feminist, a son-in-law living in the home of his wife's parents should be ashamed of himself. But why was I the one who was feeling embarrassed!?
