My Pretty Sweetheart (Arianna)

Chapter 2024

Chapter 2024

When we arrived at the art gallery, it was full of people and we stood out rather oddly from the moment we walked in.

After stepping in, some guests had approached Jordan so we decided to look around. All content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.

The art gallery had a vintage European architectural style to it. The hall was spacious with a tall ceiling that is adorned with designs from several historical periods in time, adding a lot of charm to the entire room. This added an extra layer of mystery to the oil paintings that were hanging on the walls.

Walking past the central hall, Aaron stopped and stared at the painting of the Mona Lisa. He squinted his eyes and pondered, "Look, do you think this is authentic?"

"I guess." I blurted out without thinking, "All the guests here must either be rich or powerful. Besides, Jordan's family is quite powerful. There's no need to produce a fake one just to show off." "What do you think?" Aaron asked Hendrix.

"It can be real, but it can also be fake." Hendrix said indifferently, "The oil painting itself is worthless, it's the people's enthusiasm which makes it valuable. In a way, devoting the artist's life experience and feelings into his works is an excellent marketing strategy."

"I'm not talking about business here. I'm asking you about the authenticity of this painting." Aaron had put his coat back on and placed both of his hands in his pockets. He suddenly sounded very serious.

Hendrix sneered. He bent down to pick Aurelia up and said casually, "The more people who believe in it's authenticity, the more authentic it will be." He then carried Aurelia away to look at the other paintings.

Aaron and I looked at each other and shrugged, speechless.

What Hendrix had said was reasonable. The art industry was very complicated. It was similar to stocks and gambling, both were high-risk investments. Losing everything from it was a common occurrence.

However, judging from Jordan's manner of maintaining a

high-profile, he was obviously one of the elites in this industry. In other words, he was one of the few people who could decide the rules of the game and naturally, would be the winner at the end of it.

Looking at masterpieces in art galleries had never been something we were fond of. A few minutes later, the excitement we felt earlier had already evaporated.

Aurelia was getting impatient, so Hendrix took her outside to look at the scenery.

Aaron was with me at first, but he then received a phone call from Mesville. It wasn't appropriate to answer it inside as it would disturb the other guests, so he took the call outside.

After standing about for a while, I was feeling a little tired. As I looked for a chair to sit on, I heard Jordan's voice nearby.

"Arianna, what do you think of this art piece right here? Would you say it depicts the scene of high or low tide?"

I was stunned for a moment. I stood up straight and realized that he was talking about a painting on a wall behind me.

The artistic conception of the painting was very beautiful. It depicted a scene of a beach with sunshine and heavy waves. The artist's perspective was from somewhere afar, so at first glance, it could be seen as both high and low tide.

After deliberating about this for a

while, I came up with an answer, "It's

during high tide. The drawing clearly refers to the rise of the sea at sunset. From the look of the sun, although it's bright red in color, it's just about to disappear beyond the sea level."

Jordan smiled and cast his eyes downwards slightly, "I think it's during low tide, where the sun rises, The seagulls are flying about while the ocean subsides as everything returns to its source. One can imagine the magnificent view that's about to happen. Sometimes in life, taking a step back might just lead you to see the bigger picture."

He had been hiding behind the scenes for many years after all. This was such a simple painting, but yet had two very different points of view to it.

Hearing him say this, did it mean that Jordan wanted to keep the peace and put an end to this?
