Chapter 2016
Chapter 2016
Perhaps it had been a very long time since I'd seen Hendrix like this, I wasn't used to it. I buried my face deeper into his chest when I felt blood rush to my cheeks. Stubbornly, I had to say something that I didn't actually mean to say.
"Before I woke up, you had been under control from the hypnotist. You felt that I was a heartless woman and couldn't wait for me to disappear from this world. There was no way you would even allow me to enter your dreams..."
Hendrix shook his head and said in a tired voice, "I've been dreaming of you every day for the past few years. Whenever I went to sleep, I would always see a woman in my dreams. Whenever I moved closer to see her face, a transparent wall would suddenly appear. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't break it. After I met you, I never had that dream again. I could finally sleep."
A thought lingered in my mind, I debated with myself over which was worse, losing six years worth of memories without anyone to love, or to remain a puppet and be pestered by nightmares for the rest of my life.
Fate had brought us together. If one of us got into trouble, the other wouldn't be able move on peacefully. This content provided by N(o)velDrama].[Org.
I gently patted Hendrix's back. I didn't want to continue arguing over who was right or wrong. "Let's put those thoughts off for a while and get some rest."
Hearing this, he then relaxed and let me go.
But then, my whole world began to spin.
When I came to, I realized that Hendrix had me in his arms and he was supporting my head with one of his hands on my neck.
When Hendrix looked at me, his eyes were filled with passion.
"What... what are you doing?"
"What do you think?" Hendrix was calm as he carried me into the bedroom. "While you were away, Nathan had arranged many women for me to sleep with."
I've never heard of this before. So I joked, "Wasn't it just Serene? From what I know, you're not into strong independent women."
Hendrix stopped in his tracks and looked downwards. "She was just one of them. In fact, I had to meet several different women every month."
I sneered. "It seems that your life was much better without me. I must have come back at the wrong
time, haven't I?"
Men were animals that thought with their private parts!
As I said this, I pushed him away and struggled to jump down from his arms.
Hendrix suddenly quickened his pace. In the blink of an eye, we had reached the bedroom. He lifted one of his legs and kneeled on the bed. In one swift motion, he placed me down and hovered over my body.
"Get off of me. If you don't let me go right now, I'm going to call for help. Aaron and the kids are here, don't force me to ruin your reputation!"
Hendrix grabbed my wrists and
brought them to the top of my head. He leaned closer with a faint smile on his face. "Aurelia is already six years old. Why are you still so ill tempered?"
"That's because I'm a woman." I raised my chin and tried to stand up for myself. "I'm not as open-minded as you, Mr. Roberts. Your heart can hold more than an ocean's worth of women. I can't even imagine how many women you must have fallen in love with in your life. I have a very small heart, only space for one. Even so, not everyone can get in. If they can't commit to being together with me forever, I won't even beg them to stay!"
