Read My Past is Just Prologue By Louisa Dillon Chapter 1 – Divorce

“Nathaniel Webster, let’s get a divorce.”

Janet Longfellow stared at her phone for a long time, took a deep breath, and finally sent the message

without hesitation.

Throwing the phone on the coffee table, she knelt on the floor and began to pack her luggage.

She didn’t stop, and neither were the thoughts in her mind.

She and Nathaniel had been married for three years. She had loved him humbly in the past three

years, but there had always

been another woman in his heart.

And that woman named Anastasia Lambert had returned.

That was why she received such a photo of Anastasia leaning intimately beside Nathaniel, smiling

softly and brightly.

That smile hurt Janet deeply. More ironically, the date shown in the photo was her 23rd birthday.

Her husband spent a day with another woman on her birthday.

That was just ridiculous…

Old Mr. Webster arranged their marriage, and she thought she could win her heart by loving him with

all she got.

Now, she realized that she was wrong.

In Nathaniel’s opinion, she was a woman with motives and greed. Compared with Anastasia, she was

nothing.

Now, the time had come to let him

1. go.

Janet raised her head, held back her tears, and closed her suitcase forcefully.

When Nathaniel stepped into the house at midnight, Janet was going downstairs with a large suitcase.

Thinking of the message the woman sent a few hours ago, his face darkened.

“It’s already midnight. What are you doing?”

The man’s voice was as cold as ever.

Janet raised her head upon hearing the sound.

The soft light shone on Nathaniel’s body, creating a hazy circle of light. His facial features were

sculptural, and his eyes were deep and beautiful.

Even though she had made up her mind to break up with Nathaniel, her heart still fluttered

uncontrollably when she saw him.

“Stop being a fool.”

After Janet warned herself, she walked up to Nathaniel, put down her suitcase, took out a stack of

documents from her bag,

and handed them over.

“This is the divorce agreement. I have already signed it. After you sign it, we will go to the Civil Affairs

Bureau to get divorced

tomorrow.”

Nathaniel frowned even tighter.

He didn’t know whether she was acting or not.

And he didn’t believe that a person who was greedy like her would be willing to divorce and give up her

current luxurious life.

“Janet, is this your new trick?”

Nathaniel didn’t even look at her, and his tone was impatient. He walked past her and prepared to go

upstairs to wash up.

Seeing that he was leaving, Janet felt a dull pain in her heart.

He had always been like this, impatient and cold. He wouldn’t spend even a minute on her…

Janet said softly while clenching both of her hands,

“Nathaniel, I’ll divorce you without any compensation.”

Nathaniel paused and suddenly turned to look at her with disbelief.

The woman in front of him suddenly showed a sweet smile, but her voice was contemptuous and

mocking.

“Why? Are you unwilling to let me go?”

Under the light, her eyes shone like sparkling crystal pieces.

Nathaniel had never seen her with such an attitude, and he noticed something different in her eyes. But

before he could tell what it was, he was irritated by her words.

Picking up the pen, Nathaniel directly turned to the last page, and he really saw what she had just said. Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.

He paused, ignoring the unreasonable irritability in his heart, and signed his name.

Then, with a snap, he threw the divorce agreement into Janet’s arms with a sarcastic smile.

“I’ll play your game.”

Janet also smiled slightly and said,

“Tomorrow at 9 am, I will wait for you at the gate of the Civil Affairs Bureau.”

Janet took her suitcase and sat down on the bench by the fountain in the neighborhood.

In the past, she often sat here, sometimes waiting for Nathaniel to come home, sometimes just sitting

there, looking at the

people coming and going.

Looking back now, she lived too humble these years, and she had lost herself…

A car accident ten years ago almost killed her, but Nathaniel risked his life to save her.

To her, Nathaniel is not only her beloved but also her savior.

For him, she was willing to give everything, even her own life.

Unfortunately, he couldn’t remember what had happened in the past. She took care of him, but she was

just a substitute. Now, his loved one had returned. She had to end everything and be herself again.

The diamond ring on her ring finger was shining in the darkness. Janet slowly took it off and put it in her

pocket.

She looked at the two-story building that she used to call home for the last time, stood up, and walked

towards the gate of the neighborhood.

In the distance, she saw a silver-gray sports car parked on the side of the road, with a tall man leaning

beside it.

Janet let out a long breath as if she wanted to bury all the sadness in her heart in the darkness of

tonight.

Then, she smiled and walked towards the man.

But after getting closer, Janet almost couldn’t help laughing out loud.

There was no one around, and it was already midnight. This man was actually wearing a mask,

sunglasses, and a cap. And he was even wearing a scarf, covering his entire face. If anyone saw him,

they might consider him a criminal.

Seeing the mockery in Janet’s eyes, the man turned aside in embarrassment.

“I’m used to it… After all, you know my fans.”

Janet smiled.

The man was Ernest Grantham.

He had a first-class appearance and acting skills, and he was the most famous actor nowadays and the

most favored son of the

wealthy Grantham family.

He was also her best friend.

Ernest took over her suitcase, then took off his windbreaker and put it on her shoulder. Then, he took

off his sunglasses and stared at Janet’s pretty face, which was a bit blushed due to the coldness.

He didn’t understand why this girl, who was charming, lively, and attractive, had become so depressed.

Janet understood his concern and smiled at him.

“I’m fine, really.”

Ernest opened her mouth, but didn’t know what to say.

w they

His eyes were more beautiful than women’s, and now they were filled with anger, confusion, and

distress…

He held Janet’s thin shoulder with his right hand, showed his signature smile, and said brightly,

“Welcome back, Jill.”
