Chapter 47_ Not all stepmom’s are bad
Karl staggered in with a few guards tailing him, Clara held his waist to support his movement. Cecile looked away from Karl.
The last thing she wanted to see now was a boy that looked exactly like her husband. Karl didn’t miss the change in expression of Cecile, he misjudged it as anger.
“The deed is already done now Mrs Hart” Karl scorned walking towards Cecile.
“what do you mean?” Cecile asked with little or no emotion in her voice.
“Isn’t it too late to feel remorse?”
“I know that my actions were wrong” Cecile admitted.
Karl shook his head “No you weren’t wrong, you just did what a typical step mother would”.
Amelia raised her hand to stop him from speaking further “Karl not all step mom’s are bad there’s something that you were not aware of that day, your mum tried to kill me with a knife I tried to resist the attack but then she slipped and fell into the fire”.
Karl let out a smirk “And that case was sealed up! I had to spend my childhood days without a mother”.
Amelia was moved by his words she could feel the pain behind his words. “Karl give us a chance to relieve you of the pain we’ve caused you”..
..
Liam’s lips curved upwards staring at the report on his table. “Boss it was the same fire incident that you were involved in” Lucas said with a bow.
Liam adjusted his tie, drifting into the past.
FLASHBACK
Liam coughed out loudly screaming for help, no one was coming forth for help. He had come to the chapel earlier today to pray for his sick mom to recover.
No one other than he and his nanny knew that his mum was alive.
His lips quivered in fright, the fire was spreading rapidly around his surrounding before he knew what was going on a small part of the building fell down on him.
Liam sobbed and screamed for help choking from both the thick smoke and dust that filled the air.
He finally gave up screaming and when he was about to loose his consciousness, he felt himself being pulled out slowly.
And that was all he could remember that fateful day.
End of flashback
That memory were imprinted deep in his mind, “did you find out how that fire started?” Liam inquired to receive a nod.
Later that night…..
Amelia waited patiently for Liam to return, she checked the time again and sighed. she pulled out her phone and tried his line but it didn’t go through.
She lay down back on the bed and soon drifted into sleep. The door opened and Liam stepped in with a gift box on his hand.
He took a glance at her and walked over the table placing the box on it.
He quickly changed into his sleepwear and laid beside Amelia who felt the bed sank at the other end.
She inched closer to him and snuggled beside him with her head on his chest. “you came back so late, where were you? Amelia murmured in her sleepy state.
“I didn’t get the chance to thank you for saving my life, I owe you a lot” she opened her eyes and planted a kiss on his lips.
“that’s my way of saying thank you”.
Liam stared at the ceiling “I also owe you a lot, years back you risked your life just to save mine, because of that I’m forever grateful”.Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.
Amelia raised her head in shock “Mr Arrogant? were you the boy I saved from that fire?” Amelia sat up staring at him with a gleam in her eyes.
Liam nodded at her words. “Thank you” he said to see Amelia dramatically passed out.
“Maybe I’m still dreaming” she pinched herself ànd cried out after reality hit her.
“Crazy girl!” Liam mumbled.
A lightening jolted Amelia out of her thoughts, Liam smirked finally he found something that she was scared of.
Amelia almost glued her body with Liam and raised the duvet to cover her face.
She heard Liam chuckle and pinched his arm “it’s not funny Liam”.
Soon it began to pour heavily the room was so cold, Amelia turned her back again him and moved backwards towards, taking his arm she placed it on her waist.
Liam gulped down, she was trying to ignite another fire that he would have to quench with a cold bath.
