My Marriage to a Mute Girl

Chapter 32 Make a Deal with You

Chapter 32 Make a Deal with You

The cold temperature coming from the pinched cheek was nowhere near as cold as the sound in her

ear.

Lexie only felt her mind buzz and go blank as she looked at Alan in fear.

Alan slowly let go of his hand and sat down again on the sofa, slightly raising his chin, his expression

arrogant and cold, "Earlier, I thought you were lying, but now it seems that you are really willing to do

anything for your grandma's illness."

It was a long time before Lexie tried to get up to breathe, but because of inhaling too hard, she choked

hard, covering her neck and leaning against the wall, coughing uncontrollably.

She choked out tears and her hand was shaking with the pen, [What do you mean?]

Alan slowly inhaled and exhaled, his slender hands crossed on his knees as he leaned down and

looked up at her, "I want to make a deal with you." NôvelDrama.Org © 2024.

"......"

"I want the Mitchell family's prescription."

Prescription again... He was really after the Mitchell family's prescription!

Lexie's face stiffened and she shook her head repeatedly, [What prescription? I don't know.]

The Mitchell family's prescription was a trade secret, the lifeblood of the Mitchell Pharmaceutical

Group, and even Edith didn't know much about it, let alone her, a coldly treated illegitimate daughter!

"There's no rush."

Of course he knew that Lexie wasn't that capable.

"Of all the prescriptions the Mitchell family have, I only need one, the one in Peter's personal safe."

Lexie shook her head helplessly, [You're imposing on me]

No matter which one Alan wanted, there was no way she could get it.

"Imposing on you?" Looking at the beautiful words on the notebook, Alan's eyes grew gloomier and

gloomier as he looked coldly at the woman in front of him, "That's right, I am imposing on you, this is

the debt your family owes!"

When Peter caused Linda to be buried in the fire, he should have paid with his life.

Thinking of this, Alan's face became even more gloomy as he said quietly, "At the end of this month,

when Peter celebrates his birthday, if you can't get it, I will completely help you eliminate the handhold

of yours in Peter's hands, and then, you won't have to be constrained by anyone anymore."

A deep, cold voice echoed through the room, and Lexie was viciously stunned.

What was Alan going to do with her grandma ......

Absolutely not!

"Have you thought this through?"

[Give me some time], Lexie had to take a step back.

She couldn't do this thing that Alan had instructed her to do, she didn't even know where the safe was

that Alan had mentioned, so how could she get the prescription?

"Is that a deal you're making with me?"

Lexie gritted her teeth and clenched her pen, [Grandma's surgery is next Monday, I need to wait until

Grandma's surgery is over before I can go do this.]

Looking at the stubborn look of the woman in front of him, Alan knew that pushing further would not

have the result he wanted, thinking for a moment, he uttered, "Okay."

He'd waited all these years, so he didn't care about these few days.

"Don't try to make any tricks," Alan dropped a warning before he left, "Don't forget that you don't have

anyone to rely on should something go wrong."

With a 'bang' of a closed door, Lexie shivered violently.

A while later, Lexie held onto the chair and slowly sat down, her legs weak without a bit of strength.

She couldn't stay any longer in the Howard family and even J City, and she had to take her grandma

away as soon as possible.

In the following day, Alan went out early in the morning and met Kevin at the door.

"Morning."

"Waiting for someone?" Alan nodded as a greeting, his gaze crossing over to Kevin and seeing the car

behind him as if he was waiting for someone.

Kevin didn't shy away from it, "I'm going to work, and I'm taking Lexie to the hospital to see her

grandma."

"Lexie?" Alan felt it inexplicably harsh, and coldness flooded his eyes.

And at that moment, Lexie came out of the house, carrying a plain beige canvas bag, and once she

stepped out of the house, she met the gaze of the two men and was stunned for a moment.

Such a coincidence?

She had purposely left late today to avoid these two.

"Lexie, good morning!" Kevin's voice reached Lexie's ears.

She subconsciously raised her head and smiled towards the distance, but when she met Alan's gaze,

her smile instantly froze, and she could only nod cautiously, standing motionless by the door.

"Come on, I'll take you to the hospital."

Kevin's voice rang out again, as gentle and bright as ever, just like this morning sunshine.

"No need, I'll go to the office and drop her off on the way." Alan's voice echoed in the courtyard,

inexplicably causing this morning sunlight to be tainted with a bit of cold air.

Lexie's face stiffened.

"Lexie ......," Kevin froze.

Lexie didn't dare look at Kevin's eyes, clutching the canvas bag strap tightly, and under Alan's

compelling gaze, she slowly walked over and got into his car.

From beginning to end, Alan didn't say a single word of nonsense.

Kevin looked to the car with a look that could not hide his loss.

Alan walked past him and pressed his large hand on Kevin's shoulder, quite forcefully, his tone a little

cold, "You should call her cousin-in-law."

Kevin faintly stared.

The car pulled away from the entrance of the compound, which inexplicably looked stern in the height

of summer.

From the rearview mirror, he saw the white figure in front of the courtyard getting farther and farther

away, but the apology in Lexie's heart grew deeper and deeper.

"What? Reluctant to ride in my car?"

The man's cold voice rang out, and Lexie jerked back to her senses, hastily shaking her head in denial.

"So you're disappointed you didn't get a ride with Kevin?"

Lexie shook her head, [I don't want to take his car, even if I don't take your car, I won't go and take his

car.]

"Oh? Is that so?"

[Mrs. Stewart doesn't like me being close to Kevin, I'll keep my distance.]

Taking the initiative to explain and avoid unnecessary misunderstandings was the way she had learned

to survive around Alan.

Seeing this, Alan grunted, "You are rather sensible."

Diana had always regarded Kevin's marriage as very important, and ordinary girls couldn't even make

it, let alone Lexie.

Alan glanced at Lexie and turned his eyes to the window again, saying quietly, "Stay away from Kevin

and don't ask for trouble."

Lexie nodded, indicating that she understood.

Looking at her with this mute look, Alan didn’t bother to talk to her anymore, closing his eyes and

leaning back in his chair to rest.

The scenery outside the car window receded rapidly, the carriage was quiet, and Lexie gradually took a

breath of relief.

Lexie cautiously looked at Alan.

The scar on his face seemed much faint even as he slept, not as hideous and gruesome as it usually

was.

Lexie examined it for a while, and she found the driver was observing her from the rear-view mirror, at

once she was stunned, bending down, by going to pick up the canvas bag dropped in between the two

seats to cover embarrassment.

Just as she picked up the canvas bag, her wrist was grabbed by a large hand.

Lexie was startled and thought it was Alan who had woken up, but when she lifted her head, she saw

that his eyes were still closed, but cold sweat was sliding down the scar at the corner of his forehead,

as if he had fallen into a huge nightmare.

Would a man like him be haunted by nightmares too? It was actually a little heartbreaking to watch.

Lexie gradually calmed down and carefully tried to draw back her hand.

"Linda-"

In an inaudible whimper, Alan snapped open his eyes, his sharp cold eyes seemed to hide two ice

blades, whooshing into Lexie's eyes. She fiercely jolted, instantly even her breathing

stopped.
