Chapter 80
Chapter 80
Celena caught the impatience and hatred in Reginald’s eyes. Her heart, already in pieces, shattered further. Tears streamed down her face. Liam stepped in.
“Celena, no more tears! Don’t fret. Believe in me. This is nothing. I’ll
get that project.”
“However, you…” Worry and urgency painted Celena’s face, leaving
her at a loss for words.
“Nothing? You’re delusional! I’m eager to see how a broken and beaten nobody like you will pull this off!” Qemal folded his arms,
looking at Liam with venom and mockery.
His arm was excruciatingly painful, and his hatred for Liam deepened,
He made a vow to himself that one day, he would make Liam pay with
his life. If he did not, he would not be Qemal.
Wasyl shared the same burning hatred for Liam. Though the Abbott’ were no top-tier family in the sprawling Drunham City, they were stil big deal, and people sought their favor! Normally, Wasyl, just like Qemal, basked in the adulation of others. However, after Liam had humiliated him in front of a crowd, his pride was wounded, and he was seething with resentment.
Sherah’s heart broke seeing her son’s arm in a splint and bandages. She had always pampered him; even the smallest injury would upset her for days. His broken arm had upset her. As Qemal
fumed, she joined in, lashing out, “Right! Who does he think he is, spouting off like that!”
Meanwhile, Wasyl glowered, his eyes filled with malice as he spat out, “Liam! Just wait, I’m not done with you!”
With that, Wasyl stormed off with Cheryl hot on his heels. She had just burned bridges with Patrick Hughes and was then clinging to Wasyl for dear life. The rest watched as they left.
However, as Wasyl and Cheryl made their exit, the entrance to the hall was suddenly filled with a burst of color. A group marched in, carrying two large red boxes adorned with festive silk ribbons.
They brought the vibrant boxes to the main table and set them down with a thud. One man presented a red scroll to Reginald while another flipped open the lids of the boxes.
Wow!
The entire hall gasped as the contents of the boxes were revealed, leaving everyone in awe.
Two boxes sat before them, brimming with riches. The first overflowed with a dazzling array of jewels and precious stones, nestled among several brocade boxes. Yet, given their luxurious packaging, they were surely no trifling matter.
The second box was crammed with stacks of crisp bills, and nestle on top, a few bars of gold gleamed invitingly.
Together, these treasures could be worth a fortune, easily in the
several millions. Content © provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
“Who brought these?” Reginald, gripping the scroll, his voice quivered with each word. He quickly turned to the delivery folks, eager to learn the identity of the generous benefactor.
That was a person the Stone family had to get to know. It was someone with pockets deep enough to turn heads.
It was not just Reginald who was struck by the grandeur. The other Stones were equally floored. They stared, eyes wide with wonder and a touch of green, at the opulent display of wealth laid out before them.
