My Invincible Husband Has Returned

Chapter 64

Chapter 64

“You’re coming with me? That’s great!” Celena exclaimed gleefully, but all of a sudden, something occurred to her. Her expression

changed from that of joy to worry.

Liam noticed this and could not help asking, “What’s wrong?”

“Um… I’m really excited about the idea of us attending Grandpa’s birthday party together. Still, I’m just wondering… how Grandpa would react if he saw us together, considering that this was why he banished me in the first place…” Celena trailed off, her brows furrowed in a concerned look.

Liam stroked her hair and smiled. “Don’t worry about it! I didn’t want you to go alone because you’re still recovering from your injuries, so all I wanted was to be able to take care of you while you were there.

Celena realized he was right. She nodded. “Alright! I feel much safer with you around!”

With that, she covered herself with the blanket so that Liam would not be able to see her blush. She felt as though her cheeks were on fire.

Even though Liam had tried his best to reassure her, Celena was still a little worried about her family’s reaction. Her family had never met anyone she was involved with before, not to mention this was her first time being invited to a family event in seven years! NôvelDrama.Org © 2024.

Seven years ago, she had been banished from her family and attained a reputation as a promiscuous woman because of Liam. Not only that, but the Stone family had become the laughingstock of the town when everyone found out about their affair. Liam was also the reason. she had gotten pregnant and been forced to live in shame and humiliation.

The weight of her past had made Celena feel suffocated, and she still harbored some hatred toward Liam because of this. Sometimes, she would regret saving Liam, but this dangerous thought would not linger for long. There would always be another voice in her mind that told her Liam was innocent; Cheryl had framed him, and all three of them, including Jovie, were victims of her deceit!

This was Celena’s true nature. No matter what happened, she would always be looking out for other people and often forgot to show herself the same kindness and grace.

Liam stayed in Celena’s room for a while until she finally drifted off to sleep. Then, he went into Jovie’s room. Jovie was, at that moment, staring out the window with her chin propped in her little hands, enjoying the warmth of the sun on her skin.

However, her eyes were still wrapped with a thick layer of bandage.

Jovie had not regained her vision yet, even though she had undergone surgery twice.

Liam felt his heart break as he gazed at the little girl in her princess dress, sitting longingly by the window but could not take in the view.

“Jovie, it’s Dad!” Liam announced, then strode over to her side.

“Hi, Dad! I’m so glad you’re here to see me! I missed you so much!” Jovie turned around and reached out to feel Liam. Then, she finally wrapped her tiny arms around his neck, grinning from ear to ear.

Liam picked her up and gently pinched her cheek. “Jovie, your mother and I are going to attend Great-Grandpa’s birthday party tomorrow. Do you want to come?”

Jovie’s smile disappeared from her face. Instead, she pouted and replied reluctantly, “I don’t want to! Can Mom not go too? That old man is a bad person! He’s always scolding Mom, and l’even saw him

hit her before! He hit her so hard that she bled from her lip!”

With that, she even pointed to her own lip as though to demonstrate to Liam what had happened.
