Chapter 867
Chapter 867
Logan, Agatha, and Esther arrived at Capitus International Airport. To heighten the authenticity of their
plan, Esther had been in a wheelchair since disembarking the plane.
"Grandma Agatha, don't you think I look too healthy?" Esther questioned, glancing at herself on her
phone.
Even without makeup, her complexion was radiant, far from that of a sick person.
"We'll take you to the hospital right away," Agatha said, reaching out to touch Esther's face with an
indulgent look. "Once we're there, I'll take care of the rest."
"Okay."

At the hospital.
Agatha managed everything on the medical front.
Half an hour later, Esther found herself on a hospital bed, engrossed in her phone. "Logan, do you
think this is okay?"
Logan replied gently, "Looks good."
"Really?" Esther doubted him. She switched to selfie mode on her phone and asked, "How about
ordering some foundation online?"
"Vain much? You want to put on makeup?" Logan teased.
Esther clarified, "No, I just want to give myself a sickly appearance."
"Who said being sick has to look a certain way?" Logan stood across from Esther, his warm gaze on
her face. He spoke earnestly. "Even sick people can face life positively. Moreover, you have me as your
unwavering fiance."
Esther was momentarily surprised, then laughed. "You're getting into character so quickly?"
"Let me remind you, the criminals we're dealing with are far more brutal, cold-blooded, and vicious than
you can imagine."
Esther had never considered criminals to be good people. If they were, they wouldn't be criminals.
"But your identity—"
Logan interjected, "What about my identity?"
"Shouldn't the other side be wary of you and not easily agree?"
Logan explained, "I understand your point, but those people in the criminal organization will definitely
welcome it."
"Why?" Esther didn't understand. She wouldn't interact with someone like Logan if she were in their
shoes. It was only logical not to put herself at risk. This text is property of Nô/velD/rama.Org.
"Some men like to see fallen women reform," Logan explained. "And some men like to see respectable
women go astray. Certain criminals enjoy watching women deteriorate and become one of them."
Esther more or less grasped the implied meaning. She looked at Logan with confusion and asked, "But
you know that I'm pretending. My kidneys are fine. If they..."
"You don't need to worry about these things. Grandaunt Agatha will take care of it," Logan assured her.
"I understand."
Esther felt nervous and worried, but it also seemed thrilling. If she and Logan could personally catch
this criminal organization and expose them, did it mean she would get closer to avenging her father?
Logan and Esther remained in the hospital room, each busy with their tasks, yet the atmosphere was
strangely harmonious.
Suddenly, Logan cleared his throat and asked, "Esther, are you thirsty?"
"I'm not."
"I'm stepping out for a moment. If you need anything, just call or message me."
"Sure."
