Richest Mogul 1098

After coming out of the bathroom, Skylar sent a message to Joe. “Beast.”

She had just looked in the mirror and saw the marks left by Joe all over her body. If they weren’t in hidden spots, she would’ve had to cover them up before going out.

Right after she sent the message, a call came in.

Skylar immediately answered as she saw it was from Aiken.

“Mr. Parkinson.”

“I’ve found Madam Viola, but you need to come and see for yourself,” Aiken said.

“What? You found her? Great, where is she? I’ll go over right away. Wait, I need to get Grandma Gloria and Mr. Gardner Senior. They’ll want to see her too,” Skylar said, her voice full of excitement.

She couldn’t wait to see Viola. Skylar missed her so much and had so much to say to her. She also had many questions she wanted to ask.

“You better come by yourself first. I’ll wait for you at the Oakdale Hospital.” Aiken’s voice was as steady

as ever.

It sounded normal, but for some reason, it made Skylar feel a growing sense of unease in her heart. She got dressed quickly right after that.

On the way to the hospital, Skylar’s mind was racing.

Was Viola sick? Had she gone to the hospital alone to avoid worrying them? Why hadn’t she been in contact all this time?

Her thoughts spiraled with countless possibilities.

The way Aiken spoke on the phone made her feel that things might be more complicated than she imagined.

The Oakdale Hospital was quite a distance from where she lived. It took Skylar a full hour to get there. Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org exclusive © material.

After parking in the underground parking lot, she hurriedly took the elevator to the hospital’s first floor.

The hospital was crowded, but she immediately spotted Aiken standing tall and noticeable in the crowd of people. So, Skylar rushed over to him.

“Mr. Parkinson.”

Aiken looked at Skylar, sensing her anxiousness, and felt a twinge of sympathy.

“Where is Grandma Viola?” Skylar asked right away when she saw he wasn’t speaking.

Aiken took a deep breath and said in a calm tone, “You need to promise me that no matter what you see, you have to stay calm.”

Skylar’s heart tightened. A strong sense of foreboding washed over her, but she quickly pushed it aside.

She assured herself that nothing bad would happen to Viola. After all, they were in a hospital with skilled doctors. So even if she was sick, they would surely be able to treat her.

Okay, I promise. Don’t worry, I’ll stay calm,” Skylar said firmly.

“Follow me.” Aiken nodded, although the concern in his eyes didn’t lessen despite her promise. In fact, he grew even more worried about her.

He hadn’t expected things to turn out this way. Knowing how important Viola was to Skylar made him realize that what she was about to face would be difficult for her to accept. 1

They entered the elevator, and she watched as Aiken pressed the button for the basement level.

It only took a few moments to descend from the first floor, but it felt long.

A chill washed over Skylar as soon as she stepped out of the elevator, making her instinctively pull her clothes tighter around her.

Then, her throat began to tighten. That ominous feeling grew stronger with every step.

She wanted to ask Aiken something, but her throat felt constricted for some reason. Her heartbeat became slow, and she couldn’t utter a single word.

They soon reached the morgue.
