Ayan: "I will explain to Camille, you just keep an eye on her." Kian nodded in understanding.
After their conversation, they left the office.
Ayan and Camille almost returned to Franklin Bay one after the other. Since his return from abroad, Ayan had not visited his grandfather or the Simpson's mansion.
During dinner, Camille asked, "When do you plan to visit your grandfather?" Ayan replied, "| probably won't have time in the next few days, so I'll have to wait a bit."
"In that case, let me accompany your grandfather for a meal. Since you're on a business trip this week and | haven't visited the hospital, although Grandpa hasn't called to ask me, Dad said he misses us," Camille suggested.
The old Simpson resided in the hospital to recuperate. Initially, the plan was to operate after his condition stabilized. However, given the old Simpson's age, both surgical and accidental risks were inevitable. Thus, after careful consideration, they opted for conservative treatment.
For the time being, the old Simpson wouldn't mention this to Ayan, urging him to take care of his health at all times. The pretense was to make him think that once he recovered, he could undergo surgery, giving him something to look forward to. This way, he would cooperate well with Dr. Ellis and everyone else.
Ayan nodded in agreement. After sipping his soup, he looked up at Camille. His deep eyes hinted at unspoken words. He softly asked, "Is there something you want to tell me?”
Camille smiled and replied, "What do you want to know?" Both understood what the other was referring to. Their half-smiles suggested a shared understanding. "Why didn't you tell me?" Ayan inquired.
Camille set down her fork, sighed silently, and calmly said, "It's not something important. Besides, her call was an apology, not an insult or a challenge. So, it's not significant.”
Camille was indifferent. Since it was an apology, she accepted it. As long as the cooperation between Tillery Group and Simpson Group continued to profit, she didn't involve herself in unnecessary conflicts. Her perspective was simple — as long as the partnership didn't cross any lines, she could turn a blind eye to minor issues.Belongs © to NôvelDrama.Org.
Camille's nonchalance amused Ayan. "Did you accept her apology?” he asked.
"It's not important. | didn't care about last night, so why bother if her apology was sincere? | just don't want to dwell on it," Camille remarked as she resumed eating. Nanny had cooked a delicious braised carp that evening. She usually avoided eating fish due to the fear of bones getting stuck, but the flavor was exceptional that night, prompting her to savor each bite. She continued, "Did she visit the company looking for you or did she call to tell you she apologized to me?"
Ayan mentioned that Daisy had visited Simpson Group.
Camille joked, "Why does she seem like she's here to boast?"
Camille sighed again before turning to Ayan, "How long will she stay in Hance City?" "Probably about a week," Ayan replied.
“Alright, we still have five or six days, so we might have to confront her at least once, right?" Camille could already envision the scene.
Ayan reassured her, "If you don't want to see her, you don't have to. Don't stress yourself too much over this project. Remember, you're more important than any work."
Camille smiled at Ayan. "| know, don't worry. | won't compromise myself,” she promised. Satisfied, Ayan nodded. After finishing dinner, they held hands and took a walk together, following their usual routine.
Camille enjoyed this simple companionship. She cherished these gradual, unfolding days, believing that enduring love required a steady flow rather than explosive passion.
Camille associated Ayan with endurance and stability. She asked him, "Did you know Daisy's intentions from the beginning? What did you think then?", in a calm tone.
Ayan appeared uneasy, furrowing his brows as he stared at Camille. "I had no feelings towards anyone except you," he earnestly expressed his immediate reaction. He was afraid that any delay or ambiguity might lead to a misunderstanding.
His urgency made Camille chuckle. "| was just curious about your thoughts and feelings. No need to hurry; I'm not accusing you of anything," she reassured him.
"| had no feelings," Ayan reiterated firmly. "If | had to say something, it would be irritation. | don't like it, | detest it."
Ayan's sincerity was evident; he genuinely disliked such advances despite being committed to someone. He emphasized his reluctance towards pursuing others, especially after committing to a relationship.
He reiterated his stance and requested Camille not to raise this topic again, adamant about avoiding any mention of it. Camille found it amusing, noting his intense response as if someone pursuing him was akin to her own pursuit.

Rex was busy with work, leaving Sienna alone at home. She had come seeking Camille's company and waited for her return from the walk.
Seeing Camille and Ayan holding hands, Sienna made a pretense of apologizing, "Mr. Simpson, I'm sorry to disturb your time with Cami."
Ayan paid no mind, recognizing Sienna's insincerity. He responded with a smile, "No worries."
As Ayan excused himself to work upstairs, Camille turned her attention to Sienna. "Why are you sitting here? Isn't the ground cold?"
Sienna sighed, "The ground is not as cold as my heart." Her statement carried a hint of frustration, prompting Camille to furrow her brows and ask gently, "What do you mean?"
