Chapter 1324 Speculation
Chapter 1324 Speculation
Chapter 1324 Speculation
Horace is currently unreachable, so it's impossible for him to really believe what this outsider, Preston,
is saying and take any action at this time.
After all, the benefits brought by Horace's cooperation with Ayan are also for Armstrong Corp, and if he
were to leave, his reputation would still be intact.
Brody understands a lot of things in his heart, but his inner insecurity and overthinking cloud his
judgement.
His silence satisfied Preston, who then said, "Mr. Armstrong, are you really content?"
"This is my business, and I will make my own decisions. I don't need your advice," Brody replied, his
mood soured due to Preston's words, which greatly affected him and made him feel depressed.
In the face of this situation, Preston's tone turned sour as well. He said, "Mr. Armstrong, go to Simpson
Group now. I need to know the situation with Ayan."
"I've already been to Ayan's house, and constantly going there has no point," replied Brody.
"Is Mr. Armstrong not worried about the video of the argument with Mrs. Armstrong leaking out?"
Preston asked with a threatening tone and continued, "Mr. Armstrong, Simpson Group is very easy to
talk to, but cooperation is essential. Otherwise, I can't guarantee what actions I might take."
After Preston's threat, Brody dared not disobey, as he didn't want his private life and marriage with
Page to be exposed in the media.
So, Brody followed through and went to Simpson Group directly.
Preston watched his every move, and on the way, Brody informed Camille.
Because Camille knew Preston arranged for him to inquire about Ayan's situation, Brody wanted a
backup plan. With Camille by his side, if anything were to happen, Camille could help him, especially in
front of Ayan. As long as he didn't do anything too extreme, having Camille there meant Ayan wouldn't
harm him.
Brody's mind was filled with selfish thoughts as he smoothly arrived at Simpson Group.
Kian received Camille's reminder and had an assistant waiting at the entrance to the Simpson Group
building.
The fake reception naturally pleased Brody's hypocritical heart.
He smoothly reached the floor where Ayan's office was located, and Kian was waiting at the elevator.
When he saw Brody coming out, he immediately politely greeted him, "Mr. Armstrong, long time no
see. How have you been lately?"
Brody nodded in satisfaction. Because of his hypocritical thoughts, his attitude towards Kian was a bit
distant. After all, Kian's status at Simpson Group was quite high, and having to personally receive him
reflected Brody's elevated status.
Brody felt increasingly satisfied and absentmindedly raised his head, looking at Kian, and asked, "Well,
everything is good. By the way, where is Ayan? What is he doing?"
Kian didn't answer but gestured to his assistant and then accompanied Brody towards Ayan's office.
Kian brought Brody to Ayan's office and immediately asked him to sit down. Brody had just sat down
when he asked, "Mr. Reid, where is Ayan? Is there something happening that you are hiding from us,
the Armstrong family? You shouldn't forget that I am his father-in-law, so if there's anything, you need
to tell me."
Smiling, Kian nodded understandingly and poured a glass of water for Brody.
Kian politely said, "Mr. Armstrong, Mr. Simpson is in a meeting, so he's a bit busy. Please sit and wait.
He'll join you for tea after finishing."
Brody's face showed a hint of surprise at Kian's response but still nodded in agreement.
Kian added, "Mr. Armstrong, please wait here. Let me see if Mr. Simpson needs anything."
Brody agreed, and as Kian was about to leave the room, Brody's voice rang out once again.
"Mr. Reid, is Ayan really in a meeting?" Brody inquired.
Kian turned back to meet Brody's gaze, maintaining a neutral expression. His dark eyes locked onto
Brody's, and he replied, "Of course. Would I lie to Mr. Armstrong? If Mr. Simpson finds out, he might
deduct my salary, right?"
Finding no holes in Kian's words, Brody's expression remained unpleasant. His eyes held suspicion
and bewilderment, but his questions remained unanswered. "What about the rumors about Ayan from
last night? What's the truth behind them?"
Kian turned around to face Brody directly. "Simpson Group has already released a clarification
regarding last night's incident. Mr. Armstrong, don't be deceived by online rumors. Many people are
envious of Simpson Group's growth and Mr. Simpson's abilities. Creating baseless rumors is common,
so as long as we don't get misled, we'll be fine."
Unable to find any loopholes in Kian's words, Brody reluctantly nodded in agreement.
Kian smiled faintly and said, "Please wait here. Mr. Simpson will join you once he's done."
Brody nodded again and watched as Kian left the office.
Despite this, he still felt uneasy, with more of a sense of speculation in his mind.
Brody remained alone in the office until lunchtime approached, and Ayan had yet to appear. Anxious,
Brody stood up and walked to the door. The assistant noticed the office door opening and also
approached.
"Mr. Armstrong, would you like some tea?" the assistant asked.
Frowning, Brody expressed his displeasure, saying, "I've been drinking tea all morning. Where is Mr.
Simpson? Hasn't the meeting ended yet?"
Apologizing, the assistant explained, "I'm sorry, Mr. Armstrong. Mr. Simpson and Mr. Reid left for an
important meeting. Would you like me to order you a meal? You can have lunch first, and then you can
talk with Mr. Simpson in the afternoon when he returns." Read at NovelDrama.Org
Brody nodded in annoyance, "Fine."
The assistant then asked, "Mr. Reid, aren't you leaving? What about Mr. Armstrong..."
"I have more important matters to attend to. You know what to do regarding Mr. Armstrong," Kian said Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.
before leaving the building.
