My Ex-husband Begs Me Back

Chapter 1242: Clever

Camille didn't have much to do in the afternoon, so she decided not to return to the company and

waited at the Simpson Group for Ayan to finish work and go to the hospital together to visit his

grandfather.

Camille had leisure time, but Ayan was busy, especially with two meetings scheduled for the afternoon.

During this time, Camille was alone in the office.

Camille didn't find it boring because Ayan's office had many books to pass the time. She sat on the

office sofa, reading a book, unaware of how much time had passed until she heard a knock on the

office door.

Camille calmly said, "Come in!"

The next second, the office door opened.

It was the assistant.

She walked in and whispered, "Mrs. Simpson, Mr. Nores from the Nores Group is here. He's waiting in

the lounge and wants to see Mr. Simpson, but Mr. Simpson is still in a meeting and hasn't come out

yet!"

Camille furrowed her brows slightly and said calmly, "Hmm, then entertain Mr. Nores well. We'll talk to

Mr. Simpson after he finishes the meeting."

The assistant nodded lightly in response and then left the office.

Mr. Nores had found his way to Ayan again. Was it because he didn't get satisfactory results from

Mario? Or had Mario already informed Mr. Nores that he wouldn't be able to convince Camille, so the

only way was to personally visit Ayan?

But whether it was the former or the latter, both felt bothersome. This matter had already made Camille

feel uncomfortable. She sighed silently and continued reading, not wanting to dwell on anything related

to this issue.

The meeting Ayan was attending lasted nearly two hours before it finally concluded. The topic revolved

around the completion of a multinational project by the Simpson Group. Ayan would likely have to

travel abroad as many ceremonies required the presence of the CEO. The project was of significant Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g

scale and involved multiple companies.

Today's meeting mainly discussed the follow-up work and addressed various issues that had arisen

during the project's nearly year-long duration. Many of the problems were quite tedious, requiring

careful handling.

After the meeting, Ayan returned to his office immediately.

Camille was still sitting on the sofa, reading a book. She looked up when she heard the movement and

asked, "Did you meet Mr. Nores?"

Ayan replied, "No, I just finished the meeting. I told Kian to inform him that I didn't have time, and he left

"He left so easily?"

"What else could he do? Should he wait for me at the entrance of the meeting room?"

"I just thought he wasn't very persistent. He came all the way here, but then he left without even seeing

you."

That didn't align with Mr. Nores' usual style. He had already explored all possible solutions for this

matter, and now that he had come to their doorstep, wouldn't he want to give up without even meeting

Ayan?

Camille found it somewhat strange.

However, Ayan explained, "I didn't intend to see him, and his main purpose for coming was related to

Mario, as you and Sienna also speculated, right? Mario wouldn't waste his efforts on something

meaningless. Our guess during dinner was correct. Mr. Nores' appearance is probably due to a certain

agreement between him and Mario. Now that Mario made the phone call, it's justifiable for Mr. Nores to

show up at the Simpson Group. He's probably testing whether I'll give in or not, taking advantage of the

momentum after Mario contacted you!"

"So that's how it is. I have to say Mr. Nores' plan is quite cunning!"

"Even more audacious is Mario. He wants to continue the project's recovery while also selling personal

favors to the Nores family. He wants to have the best of both worlds, but how could everything go his

way?"

Ayan looked at his wrist to check the time. He decided not to continue discussing this matter with

Camille and said, "I have another internal meeting in a while, probably for about an hour. After it ends,

we can go directly to visit my grandfather."

"Okay," Camille obediently nodded.

Ayan looked at her and asked, "Are you bored?"

"It's fine. You have plenty of books here, so I can pass the time easily." Camille raised her hand and

gently reached out towards him. He stepped forward, and Camille wrapped her arms around his waist.

She said, "You're so busy today, and seeing how hard you work, I feel guilty spending your money all

the time."

"Then will you support me?"

"Sure, if I support you, I'll let you off work now!"

Ayan couldn't help but give her a thumbs up and said, "You're a great boss. I really hope that one day I

can work under you and enjoy such good benefits and treatment."

"Don't worry, that day will come sooner or later." After all, dreams are meant to be fulfilled.

Ayan gently rubbed her head, then said softly, "I'll go back to work now. I'll come back to accompany

you later, okay?"

"Okay, go ahead!" Camille let go of him and watched him leave the office before picking up the book

from her lap and continuing to read.

Ayan had said it would take about an hour for him to finish work, but he ended up finishing fifteen

minutes earlier than expected.

It was only five o'clock, still some time before the regular quitting time, but they didn't stay any longer

and left the Simpson Group directly.

Ayan drove the car himself, and since it wasn't peak hours, the road was not congested.

While driving, he said to Camille, "I asked my mom to take Timmy to visit my grandfather as well. Our

whole family can have a meal together at his place. We haven't gathered since my grandfather was

hospitalized. Today, everyone has time, so it's a good opportunity to get together."

"Really?" Camille's face was filled with delight, but after the excitement, she expressed some concern,

"Isn't it too risky to do that?"

"No, we won't go frequently, so no one will suspect anything. After having a meal, you can also spend

some time playing with Timmy, so that I won't be blamed for not going back to the Simpson's mansion

to accompany you and Timmy. I won't take that blame."

Listening to Ayan's self-reflection, Camille found it somewhat amusing. She leaned closer to Ayan and

gently placed her hand on his arm. Her voice was also very soft as she said, "Alright, alright, it's my

fault. When I see Grandfather later, I'll say a few good things about you."

"No, please don't. Grandfather will think I'm threatening you," Ayan firmly refused without hesitation,

shaking his head.

Camille laughed and said, "What kind of person do you think Grandfather is? He wouldn't think like

that!"

"Well, he may not think like that about you, but he definitely thinks that way about me. In his eyes, I'm

just the adopted grandson, while you're his real granddaughter-in-law," Ayan replied.

"Really?" Camille covered her mouth and said, "That's so embarrassing. You have to bear with it! After

all, Grandfather and my parents all like me!"

Camille had no intention of being discreet. After all, every time she argued with Ayan about this matter,

it left him speechless. It was a rare sight, and Camille didn't want to miss it.

They soon arrived at the hospital and followed the usual routine of going upstairs to the ward where the

old Simpson was staying.

Talia and Fletcher had already brought Timmy to the room. As soon as they opened the door, there

was a joyful chatter and Timmy's little voice.

Under Talia's attentive care, Timmy, although young, knew a lot. He could recite poems and had a good

vocabulary, although some words weren't very clear when he said them, he still understood well. He

was quite clever.

When Timmy saw Camille and Ayan, he enthusiastically ran towards them with a joyful expression.

Although they hadn't seen each other for two or three weeks, he didn't seem unfamiliar at all. After all,

they video-called every day and had endless conversations.

Seeing Camille, he directly ran into her arms and sincerely said, "Mommy, I missed you so much."

Camille's heart was melting, and she echoed, "I missed you too."

Then she kissed him.

As for Ayan, he was naturally left on the sidelines.

Seeing the intimacy between mother and son, Talia couldn't help but exclaim, "Our Timmy is a very

affectionate person. Look, even after not seeing each other for so long, he's not afraid and instead

shows so much affection."

Camille, holding Timmy, walked over to Talia and sat down beside her, saying, "It's because you and

Dad have taught him well."
