Chapter 1225: Forget
After chatting with Talia for a while, Timmy started insisting on taking a bath and wanted Talia to
accompany him. So they ended the video call.
Camille hadn't even had a chance to put away her phone when her eyes were already on Ayan. She
asked, "Did you buy the handbags for Mom?"
After all, Camille hadn't bought them herself, but she would often prepare surprises for Talia. Although
they were indeed expensive, Talia could afford them as well; it just required some time to obtain them.
However, Camille couldn't get her hands on the two handbags Talia had just mentioned, but Ayan
could.
Ayan didn't deny it. He honestly said, "I know you appreciate Mom taking care of Timmy. I am Timmy's
mother and your husband, so what I do is what you do. Instead of saying I bought them for Mom, it
should be 'we' bought them for Mom, right?"
Camille listened to his words and couldn't help but feel touched. Although he put it that way, Camille
was still grateful. Her gaze towards Ayan became even more tender, and she said, "Ayan, it's so
wonderful having you."
"Are you moved again?"
"Yes, very moved. Although I already have a great relationship with Mom, because of you, we've
become even closer. You really deserve credit for that."
"If that's the case, should you reward me with something?"
"What kind of reward do you want?"Content rights by NôvelDr//ama.Org.
Ayan didn't answer directly, but instead asked, "Do you really want me to say it myself? Even if I say it,
you might not give it to me right now, although you'll eventually give it. Are you sure you want me to say
it? Aren't you afraid I'll ask for something extravagant?"
Camille smiled, pursing her lips. She said, "I know you're considerate, so of course you won't want to
trouble me, right? So whatever you suggest, I'm willing to accept it. Go ahead."
"You're deliberately setting a trap for me, aren't you?" Ayan held her hand and couldn't help but stop
walking. He turned to face Camille, looking into her eyes.
Camille's eyes curved into a smile, and her appearance reminded Ayan of something. His gaze visibly
darkened slightly, a change that couldn't be ignored.
Camille lightly pursed her lips and tilted her head, asking, "What's wrong?"
Ayan's voice became husky, and he asked, "Cami, am I more important to you than other men?"
Camille furrowed her brows slightly, a bit unsure of what he meant by asking that question.
Camille asked, "Why are you asking like this?"
"Answer me, hmm?"
"What do you want me to answer? Do you think there's someone else in my heart? Are you jealous
now?" Camille asked, but as she continued, she couldn't help but laugh. She said, "Why would you
think that way?"
However, Ayan's expression remained unchanged, and the intensity in his eyes remained serious.
They stood there, motionless, for about half a minute, causing Camille to feel that this question was
important to him and not just a casual inquiry.
Camille's smile quickly turned serious, and she stared at Ayan, saying, "Of course, you are more
important than anyone else."
"Is that so? More important than your previous boyfriend?" He followed Camille's words and asked,
then without waiting for her to answer, he sarcastically added, "He saw you in your youth and
witnessed your earliest days. The bond between you must be different!"
It was a confident statement.
This left Camille unsure of how to respond. She mustered a smile and said, "Are you jealous?"
Ayan couldn't find it in himself to smile, his face still showing signs of unhappiness, and his words
continued to carry a sour tone. He said, "You always avoid mentioning him. Is it because he holds a
different meaning to you?"
Camille furrowed her brows slightly and calmly replied, "That's all in the past. It doesn't hold any special
meaning. I simply thought it was better not to bring it up. Besides, it's all in the past."
Camille sometimes hesitated about whether to tell him the truth directly. But every time the words were
on the tip of her tongue, she felt it might not be appropriate. After all, she didn't want to dwell on the
past. Loving someone is beautiful but also agonizing, especially when it's unrequited.
In fact, she had never imagined that she would have such a good relationship with Ayan. Previously,
she simply wanted to marry him, thinking that after liking him for so many years, she should give
herself a chance. Later, when she found out that he didn't have feelings for her, Camille thought it
would be nice to have a long-lasting relationship. But she never expected things to turn out the way
they did.
Their current relationship was something Camille considered a blessing from above, so she cherished
it deeply.
After her words, Ayan's expression still seemed unchanged. Was he truly bothered by her so-called ex-
boyfriend?
With these thoughts, Camille continued, "It's all in the past. Haven't you also had relationships before?
So why do you still care about it?"
Ayan squinted his eyes, and her words didn't seem to ease his mood. His deep gaze fixated on her
eyes, the intensity in them thickening. He spoke in a low, hoarse voice, "Because possessiveness is a
trait of men. We can't tolerate the presence of someone else in the heart of the person we love."
"But there is no one else in my heart, only you."
"If he appeared in front of you, wouldn't you feel any ripples in your heart?"
Camille pursed her lips, finding it quite amusing. After all, that person was right in front of her, it was
him, it had always been him. How could there be anyone else?
Camille didn't immediately respond to Ayan's words, which made him think that there must be some
ripples in Camille's heart. Perhaps she would waver if the other person tried to please her and change
her mind.
Ayan's gaze instantly became serious, and he held Camille's chin, speaking in a very stern voice,
"Camille, let me tell you, even though our relationship is currently in a state of separation, we have a
child together. Your connection with Grandfather, Mom and Dad, and the entire Simpson family runs
deep. If they found out that you were getting upset over an ex-boyfriend you haven't seen in years and
even have conflicts with, their hearts would break. Can you bear to hurt and upset them?"
Listen, can Mr. Simpson say such words?
Camille pursed her lips. If it weren't for the fact that she knew Ayan had this side to him in private, she
would probably think he had been possessed by someone else.
Seeing Camille not speaking, not even reacting in the slightest, Ayan felt a sense of frustration. His
face showed a hint of hurt, and he said, "Can't even this move you?"
"Enough, you don't need to serve me tea anymore." Camille raised her hand and removed Ayan's hand
from her, then said softly, "You should forget it and move on."
Ayan was taken aback, "What should I forget?"
"I mean, I only have you now. You shouldn't be upset." Camille said calmly.
However, Ayan didn't become happier, and this matter became a thorn in his heart, constantly
bothering him.
Although he didn't continue speaking about it with Camille, it remained in his mind.
The atmosphere between them became somewhat quiet. Ayan still held Camille's hand but didn't say
another word. This quiet atmosphere made Camille sense that something was off.
Camille silently watched his profile as she walked beside him, unable to discern many emotions from
his face. He only slightly squinted his eyes, which led her to speculate and ponder.
Camille pursed her lips, gathering her courage to ask, "Ayan, are you upset?"
Ayan lowered his eyes, his voice becoming low and hoarse as he said, "I'm not upset."
"Then why aren't you speaking?"
"What else is there to say? Do you want me to cry or something?" Ayan looked at her with lowered
eyes, his expression somewhat aggrieved.
His current demeanor left Camille unsure of what to say.
Coincidentally, Ayan's phone rang, interrupting the atmosphere.
It was Kian calling.
Kian said, "Mr. Simpson, Elijah has requested to see you again, and our people have found Sean too.
Do you think you should let the father and son meet?"
