Chapter 1221: Caution
Ayan didn't speak immediately on the other end, which was a way of telling Camille that he felt
wronged and sad, and he needed Camille to comfort him.
Camille also felt a bit caught off guard, but Sienna, who was nearby, had already stopped working and
gave her a look, urging her to comfort Ayan quickly.
Camille took a deep breath and her voice became slightly hoarse. She said, "I'm really busy, you know.
If you don't believe me, should we video chat? There are quite a few people in the office right now!"
"How about I treat you to dinner tonight? Please say yes quickly. If I finish my work and then bother
you, you'll experience how it feels. You're not really comforting me. You don't want to comfort me, do
you? Right now, you just want to end the call quickly and get back to your work. In the end, compared
to me, work is more important to you, isn't it?"
Camille furrowed her brows slightly. Where did Ayan learn these melodramatic lines? She raised her
hand and gently rubbed her forehead. She whispered, "I really don't think that way. Of course, you're
more important. Honestly, even Timmy isn't as important to me. No one can compare to you in my
heart."
Camille saw Sienna making a disgusted face, and it seemed that her words had been quite nauseating.
But Ayan liked hearing them, and couldn't help but feel happy after listening.
Ayan asked, "Are you telling the truth?"
"Of course, everything I said is true!"
"Then I believe you."
"Okay, thank you for believing me. Can I get back to work now?" Camille asked softly.
Ayan responded, "Are you just trying to finish with me quickly so you can work?"
Camille finally realized that Ayan seemed a bit clingy today. She no longer felt helpless, but rather
found it a bit amusing. She walked over to the floor-to-ceiling window, stood with her hands on her hips,
and asked in a low voice, "Come on, tell me, what's going on with you? You're not usually like this. This
unusual behavior of yours is a bit hard for me to grasp."
Normally, he wouldn't act like this, and Camille couldn't quite understand this unusual side of Ayan.
After all, clingy Mr. Simpson was quite different from his usual self. Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.
Ayan calmly said, "Ah, now you realize that you should care about me? For so long, you didn't notice at
all!"
"Well, I've been busy, you know? I've been busy making money to support you."
"Support me?"
"Of course, don't you want to rely on me? I'm working very hard and seriously now. I'm doing
everything to ensure that you have someone to rely on in the future." Camille found her own words a bit
amusing because they sounded so real.
Compared to Simpson Group, her small company was like a small fish encountering a big shark.
Just one project from Simpson Group would be enough to sustain her entire company for a lifetime.
However, Ayan enjoyed hearing Camille say such things. He replied, "Once agreed, no backing out.
Since you want to support me, let me be straightforward too. I'm easy to take care of, not picky with
food, and I eat well. So, you don't need to exhaust yourself. Spare some free time to accompany me,
okay?"
"Alright, how do you want me to accompany you?" she asked softly.
Ayan said, "Take a day off and spend it with me to relax."
"Okay, you decide the time!"
"Tomorrow!"
"Sure, tomorrow it is."
Ayan asked somewhat surprised, "You agreed so readily?"
"Of course, I told you, you're the most important."
"Really? You're not just trying to appease me?"
"Of course it's true. Don't you trust me?"
Ayan immediately denied, "Of course, I trust you."
But he had to admit that Camille now seemed too much like him. Every word she said left no room for
doubt. If Camille truly wanted to scheme against him, he probably wouldn't be a match for her.
The two conversed with each other as if testing each other, chatting for quite a while until Sienna grew
a bit tired of waiting and couldn't help but interject, "Mr. Armstrong, Mr. Simpson, are you done talking?
You're a married couple, and you go home together every night. It hasn't even been twelve hours since
you last saw each other. Do you really need to be so reluctant to part?"
Ayan clearly heard Sienna's teasing remark, so he instinctively asked, "Is Sienna there too?"
"Yes, she is. Didn't I tell you? We're working!" Camille knew she was feeling a bit embarrassed now.
After all, she didn't want anyone else to know about this clingy and playful side of Ayan.
But now Sienna was here, so maybe those words from earlier...
Ayan immediately asked, "Did she hear what I just said?"
"I don't know, I'll ask her later." Camille glanced at Sienna, who was sitting at her desk, while she
herself stood by the floor-to-ceiling window in the rest area. They were several meters apart, so there
was no way Sienna could have heard anything!
But Camille didn't want to tell Ayan that. She wanted to see how funny it would be to see him
embarrassed.
Of course, Ayan refused Camille's suggestion immediately. He firmly stated, "Alright, you focus on
working hard and making money to support me. I also need to get back to work."
"No more chatting?" Camille deliberately asked.
Ayan naturally understood the underlying meaning in her words and replied calmly, "No, I'll finish my
work first. We can talk later when I get home."
Camille expressed a bit of disappointment, "Oh, alright then!"
After Camille finished speaking, the call finally ended.
Camille put her phone away, and Sienna tilted her head while staring at her. She shook her head and
couldn't help but say, "Why is Ayan so clingy?"
"I wonder too. What's the reason behind it?"
"You two are really torturing us with your lovey-dovey acts."
"Well, we're just torturing you, my little dog."
Camille walked over and casually placed her phone on the desk, then reached out and gently pinched
Sienna's cheeks, smiling. Sienna let out a soft hum and handed her the freshly organized sketches.
"Take a look," she said.
Camille reached out and took the sketches, carefully examining them before saying, "Not bad, but I
think you can do even better."
"You're like a devil, offering me a sweet date and then slapping me, huh?" Sienna knew that Camille
had high expectations, but she couldn't refuse her in any way. Although she said it like that, she knew
that Camille was doing it for her own good.
With Camille's company, Sienna worked busily for the rest of the afternoon and finally finalized the
design. Although there was still some time before the second round of the design competition, Sienna
was worried about possible unforeseen circumstances and wanted to prepare everything in advance to
avoid any rush.
Only Camille and Sienna knew the final version of the work for the second round. Camille suggested,
"Keep the artwork with you, and take the computer home. It's not very secure here at the office. The
competition is quite fierce this time, so it's better to be cautious."
After Camille finished speaking, Sienna's expression became serious. However, a hint of curiosity
appeared in her eyes. After all, they were a couple and shared everything. They both loved gossip.
She immediately widened her eyes and looked at Camille with curiosity, asking, "Tell me, do you know
any insider information?"
Camille was taken aback, looking at Sienna's curious expression, she felt like laughing. "Why are you
like this?"
"Didn't your words just imply something? Is there a mole in our company? Whose person is it? How
dare they betray us like this?"
"You should watch less TV. I was just giving you a reminder. You're overthinking it. People in our
company are all decent individuals; they wouldn't stoop so low. But just to be safe, let's keep this matter
between us for now, alright?"
After explaining in detail, Sienna finally understood. There really wasn't any insider information, but she
took Camille's advice seriously and nodded, saying, "Okay, I understand."
"When the final comes, I'll be even more careful. It would be best if I can work on all the design drafts
at home."
"Are you being too cautious?"
"Of course."
Sienna expressed her understanding. Suddenly, she seemed to remember something and asked, "By
the way, I want to ask, have you had any contact with Crystal recently?"
Camille shook her head and replied, "No, why would she contact me?"
