My Billionaire Wife

Chapter 19

Abrar’s pov.

I couldn’t help myself from staring at the paper, as my mind raced with questions. I found it unbelievable that she agreed to the marriage but I could not also help but wonder when she got the time to draft out a contract so soon. This belongs © NôvelDra/ma.Org.

The morning air was crisp and the sun was just beginning to rise, which gave the city a warm glow.

It looked like it was going to be a great day but my mind was occupied with a lot of things.

With my briefcase in my hand, I made my way to the bus stop while I pondered on the contract Zoya had presented to me this morning.

With a deep breath, I adjusted my tie and straightened my jacket before heading into the office. It was going to be quite a very long day.

I Had a feeling Zoya was going to ignore me all day and I plan on doing exactly that too.

It was a quite bustling morning routine at the office with an enthusiastic Kaif greeting me with a beaming smile on his face.

“What’s up man, looking good” he greeted.

“Yes man, I feel good, what’s up why is everyone just being extra loud today?” I asked as I placed my briefcase on my desk and tried to settle into work.

“Oh I think HR said something about some new people joining us but yeah as long as it is not a woman nothing has my attention,” he said and I could not help but roll my eyes at him

He was such a playboy sometimes I was amazed by how his mindset was. “You are something else man” I teased.

“Are you guys going to be chatting all Morning” Kaiser snapped, as he walked to his office.

“Ohh, good morning sir” we greeted but he quickly just walked away and into his office.

I had a feeling he did not like me and although it was uncomfortable for your boss not to like you I did not want to put much thought into that.

“Just forget about that but he is just so stuck up, ” Kaif said, lightening the mood which had darkened as soon as Kaiser made his appearance.

“Whatever” I replied, shuffling through the papers on my desk, I had a lot of work to do perks of having a boss who felt some kind of way towards me.

“And oh, young miss is at work, it seems like she finally resumed,” Kaif said.

“Who?” I was confused.

“Your wife dumb head, did you not know she is at work?” He asked, confused. I could not let him see there was anything wrong with our relationship so I lied.

“Oh I know, but seriously young miss? How was I supposed to know you were referring to her?” I replied.

“Well I don’t know, I just don’t want to see any office romance around here, please keep it PG. We have enough office drama as it is” he said walking away.

Well, I did not create any office romance drama in the office, in fact from what I have heard Kaif was the drama king around here.

I looked over at Zoya’s office but I could not see her as her windows were buried. We did not leave on a good note and hence she did not get to eat breakfast.

“I am sure she Is consumed with a lot of work, she will need the energy,” I thought to myself as I worried about her health.

“Were you talking to me?” Hadid asked.

“Uhmm, no” I replied as I shyly resumed attending to my work.

The whole paper job was still new to me but at least I was quickly getting used to it.

I got up and decided to make some coffee for myself as well as Zoya, but I had a hunch she did not want to see me so I handed the coffee to her personal assistant giving strict instructions to her not to tell Zoya I was the one who made it.

” I see you are back, Here are some documents, Kaiser wants you to attend to them,” Hadid said, handing me a stack of files, as soon as I got to my desk.

Well, one of the disadvantages of having a boss who does not like you is the constant overwork.

“Hey man what’s up?” Kaif asked, Patting me gently on my back.

“Well work, you know just work,” I said not too enthusiastically, as I waited for the photocopier to print out some forums for me. I was completely drained. I had been hovering around papers all day, my head was actually beginning to hurt.

“Take it easy man, you don’t have to rush it all up,” Kaif said comforting me. “Kaiser said I should collect the development file from you,” he said.

“Oh, it in my briefcase I took it home last night to review” I replied.

“Ok man,” he said and walked away I grabbed my stack of documents walked down to the meeting room, and distributed a copy to each secretary.

It was lunch time already so the office was a little bit quiet as everyone had gone to have lunch.

I walked to my desk to see Kaif still hovering over my briefcase.

“Kaif, what should we eat for lunch?” I asked, grabbing him on his shoulder playfully.

“What Is this” he asked with a serious expression and a serious tone it actually sent shivers down my spine.

It was very unusual to see Kaif all serious like this.

“What man?” I was confused.

“What is the meaning of this document?” He asked, pointing to the paper in his hand.

I grabbed it and quickly realized it was the contract that Zoya had drawn out for me.

“Kaif, I can explain,” I said, trying to calm him down so as not to draw attention to us.

“What the hell is this man, a contract marriage?” He yelled out in disbelief and I quickly clasped his mouth shut with my palm looking around to make sure no one heard him.

“Shush” I warned as I grabbed the paper from his hand and dragged him towards the office balcony.

I was a little bit thankful it was lunchtime so a lot of people were not around.

“Stop dragging me” he vented, forcing his arm out of my grasp.

“I can explain,” I said.

“Then explain, because I am trying my best not to overthink things here but the contents of that paper are not allowing me,” he said.

I knew I had been busted, and there was no way out of it. Now I had to come clean and explain everything.

I took a deep breath and decided to explain everything from the beginning, starting from when I first met Zoya to the ordeal that happened that made her give me the contract.

“So you mean she forced this all on you and threatened you with your job?” Kaif asked in disbelief.

“Yes I had no other choice” I replied.

“Damn, she is such a witch,” he said.

“Kaif, stop” I warned, i didn’t like it when bad words were said about Zoya it just did not sit right with me.

“Look at the situation she placed you and now, you are not even really married and you still defend her, you are a down bad man,” he said

“Please you can’t tell anyone” I pleaded. This was top secret and I know Zoya would be furious if she found out that Kaif knew.

“I won’t but I am not in support of this. Are you still going to sign the papers?” He asked.

“To be honest I don’t know what to do, a part of me wants to end It and just bear the consequences but a part of me wants to just keep going with all this’ ‘ I responded.

Just then two people walked into the balcony interrupting our conversation.

“We are not done with this conversation,” Kaif said walking out. With a heavy sigh, I walked behind him back to my desk.

“Kaif, Mr Kaiser wants to see you,” he said.

With a heavy sigh, I stood up from my seat and straightened up my tie, I did it want to receive a lecture on how I should be dressing to work Mr Kaiser.

I walked down to his office and after a light knock and an affirmation from him to come in I opened the door, and the most surprising thing that had happened all day occurred.

There she sat, her hair stylishly curled, her eyes wide and glassy, her rosy pink lips slightly ajar as she stared at me in shock.

This can’t be happening.

“Abrar,” she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

“Wait, do you know each other?” Kaiser asked, confused.

” Abrar is a friend of mine” she responded with a beaming smile making its way to the corner of her lips making her face glow up.

There she was my ex-girlfriend and ex-fiance Nikhat
