Mr. President’s 74
Chapter 74
“Doesn’t this look familiar, Linda?” Oliver asked, but Linda was feeling strange and confused as she stood at the door, looking at the man in the suit.
She could not understand the reason for the romantic setup when her manager had said that the man in this room wanted to see her.
“I’m Chloe,” she corrected, not understanding why he kept addressing her as Linda. Perhaps he was mistaking her for somebody else.
Oliver rose from the bed, walking to her as he held her by the hand, leading her to the table. It was the same setup as their first time, as he hoped it would remind her of something.
The touch of his hand on hers caused a strange fire to spark inside of her, making her wonder who exactly he was.
“Who are your parents?” Oliver asked as he pulled the chair for her. Linda pressed her hand against her forehead, feeling dizzy all of a sudden.
“I have a headache.”
Oliver pressed his lips to hers, and she pushed him away, not because she was upset but rather because she wanted to have a closer look at him. The more she did, the more images began to form in her mind. The more it happened, the greater the headache.
“I am your husband, Linda. You were drugged on the night of our wedding, and your sister replaced you, but it’s still your name on our marriage certificate,” Oliver cooed in her ears.
The images were getting real, but she was having hot flashes, and the next moment, she passed out.
Oliver caught her in time and carried her to the bed, instantly calling for a doctor.
When the doctor arrived, he took some blood samples, took them to the lab, and returned after the report was ready.
“We found a drug in her system that causes memory loss. It’s not the cause of her fainting, though. That is due to exhaustion.”
Oliver stared at the woman on the bed, and his anger boiled towards her sister and his boyfriend. He would make them pay. This content is © NôvelDrama.Org.
“How long is it supposed to last?” Oliver asked worriedly, grateful to have found her. No matter what, he would deal with the culprits.
“About 14 hours. It seems that she keeps being drugged with statin to clear her memory, and I can’t tell precisely when she took the next dosage. You should check with whoever she lives with.”
Oliver’s expression darkened dangerously at the information. “Thank you.”
As he waited for her to wake up, he sent Randy’s picture to an investigator. ‘I want him, dead or alive!
‘On it,‘ the investigator responded promptly.
As Oliver closed his eyes and massaged his temple, so many thoughts were running through his mind, including what would have happened if he had not come and also not seen Linda.
What was supposed to be their happiest day turned out like this, but he planned to give her more happy days than she could ever imagine. “Oliver?” Linda mentioned as soon as her eyes opened. Oliver rushed to her side and laid on the bed beside her.
His voice was gentle as he spoke, knowing the drug had cleared from her system.
“Babe, tell me what happened.”
Linda had tears in her eyes to see Oliver by her side and narrated everything she could remember.
“My sister insisted on a bridal shower the night before the wedding, and I don’t remember anything else, except that I woke up somewhere else and could not remember my parents until now.”
Oliver pulled her into his arms and kissed the top of her head, and she snuggled closer, feeling safe and secure.
“I’m so glad that I found you, but I got married to your sister,” he revealed, not meaning to hide anything from her, but it broke her heart somehow,
“You did?”
“It was the only way to get the truth and not let her escape because her boyfriend brought you to California, but don’t worry, I will take care of everything.”

Linda’s mind was a mess as she asked him. “You mean we are in California right now? Did you sleep with her?”
“God forbid. I didn’t sleep with her, and yes, we are in California. I only came here because your parents said that your sister and her boyfriend
were here.”
“So, your sister drugged you, took your phone, and took your position as my bride. We have to resolve this before you return to school,” he said seriously. Linda nodded in agreement, wondering if something happened between her and Randy.
She shivered at the worst thought.
“What if he slept with me? Will you still love me? Oliver, I’m so sorry. I was so stupid to have let my guard down. I was always afraid she would do something, which was why I did not want to introduce her until after the wedding,” she lamented, tears brimming in the back of her eyes.
Oliver’s expression was bitter as he wiped her tears. “Don’t worry, I will find out the truth of the matter.”
He removed his blazer, as his lips descended on hers in a fierce kiss that left her breathless.
“I was thinking of a way to divorce your sister, but I realized I can’t divorce her. It’s your name on the certificate, so I just have to make her pay. I’m ust saddened that I won’t have your wedding picture or we can have another wedding.”
He was thinking of a way out. With all the invitees, another wedding would raise brows, and no one knew about the bride being fake except the few family members.
“No, it’s fine. I never wanted a big wedding anyway. You know I’m shy, but I will wear a wedding gown for a photoshoot,” she suggested. Oliver was pleased.
Then we can have our honeymoon after taking care of your sister and her boyfriend.”
Linda was afraid when she saw the look in his eyes. “Please, can you not kill her or send her to prison? It will worry my parents if you do.”
Oliver was at a loss as he planned either of the two. “I won’t promise, but I won’t do anything to make
you
sad.”
Linda was excited, and seeing the food, she wondered when was the last time she ate. “I’m famished.” Then let’s eat,” Oliver got off the bed and carried her to the chair. He fed her the meal, after which they showered together, making love in the
process.
I love you, Linda,” he kissed her on the forehead when they were done.
I love you too, Oliver. You are my hero,” she said, pressing her naked breast against his muscular, naked chest.
When they returned to the bed, they made love again, and the next morning, Oliver saw a text message on his phone.
We searched everywhere, and there are no leads. I doubt that he’s still in California.
Oliver’s teeth gritted together as he sent the pictures to his investigator in New York with the same message.
He spent a few days with Linda in California, visiting a lot of interesting places before their return to New York.
From the airport, Oliver took Linda to Nathan and Mercedes, since he could not trust her parents or sister.
With her safe, he went back to the penthouse, and what he saw was not only an eyesore but also an insult to his image and integrity.
