Chapter 309

Chapter 309

A barely visible furrow appeared on Joshua’s forehead.

Why was this person causing such a commotion?

Then, he crouched down and removed the towel from Kendrick’s mouth. The chilling aura around him had become palpable,

“I need to use the bathroom!” Kendrick urgently replied.

Looking at the rope he had struggled to find, Joshua felt reluctant.

Nonetheless, he reminded himself repeatedly that this was Cynthia’s cousin before he reached out and untied the knot, releasing Kendrick from the blanket.

Kendrick swiftly dashed toward the restroom.

In Joshua’s expression, a complex mix of emotions was evident. It was hard for him to imagine that this person was the same one who held the position of the decisive and never–faulting CEO of Yates Group.

Was he secretly so delusional?

As he pondered these thoughts, the doorbell rang

Joshua’s tense spirits finally found some relief, and he went to open the door for Cynthia

In that instant of opening the door, a slightly irritable voice mixed with a hint of displeasure sounded.

“What’s the matter with you all? It’s already so late at night…”

When the person at the door saw Joshua’s appearance and the aura surrounding him, he swallowed back his remaining words.

The aura emanating from Joshua was powerful, surpassing ordinary levels.

“Is there something you need?” Joshua asked, his face as cool and distant as ever.

Clad in a suit, he exuded exceptional charisma–a real–life version of a domineering CFO,

Upon meeting Joshua’s gaze, the couple was overwhelmed by his presence. The man cleared his throat and glanced at the cluttered room, his expression tinged with complexity.

“It’s late, so you should stop the argument. The commotion has been quite loud.”

“Apologies. We’ll be mindful of it later.” Joshua, a gentleman, admitted their wrongdoing

“Alright, understood.” The two individuals nodded and left, feeling like they had narrowly escaped a disaster. Though they were the ones with a just cause, they instinctively backed down upon seeing Joshua for some reason.

Just then, the elevator chimed.

Cynthia walked out, her steps slightly hurried.

Seeing her arrival, the couple assumed she had come to confront Joshua due to the disturbance, just as they were about to sit back and watch the drama unfold, Cynthia stopped at the door.

Joshua ushered her into the room without saying a word and closed the door.

The two stood there for a moment, trying to imagine the scenario. However, they realized that no melodramatic plot could match the situation’s intensity. If it were a case of catching someone in a middle of an affair, the auras of the two people

would not be so harmonious.

However, they could not come up with any other plausible explanation.

Eventually, the two entered the elevator and headed to the ground floor.

Upon entering the apartment, Cynthia looked at joshma’s disheveled home and could not help but rub her forehead.

Kendrick really caused a ruckus.

He did not even consider where he was before making a mess.

“Where is he?” Cynthia suppressed her emotions and asked Joshua.

Joshua gestured toward his room, his thin lips slightly parted. “Inside.”

Cynthia was about to enter when Joshua stopped her, his deep gaze captivating. “No rush. He’s using the bathroom.”

Cynthia froze

“I apologize for today’s incident. Tomorrow, I’ll arrange for the housekeeping service to tidy up and compensate for any damages.” Cynthia stood there, genuinely feeling remorse for the chaotic room.

“It’s fine,” Joshua replied in a low, resonant voice
