Mistake With The Alpha Chapter 25
Samantha's POV
"I'm in a deep mess. I skipped training this morning and I'm so sure he's going to scold me as hell" I whispered to Sally.
Sally shook her head. "I don't think the alpha is in the mood to scold anyone. He only asked me to tell you to bring his breakfast to his chambers" she said.
I could hear shocking sounds from the people in the kitchen and Sally sent them a glare. I also was surprised because the alpha never eats in his chambers. "Did he want to scold me in private?" I asked myself.
"One thing I don't like about you is that all you know how to do is to assume negative things" Crystal scolded.
"What then am I to think?" I asked.
"Nothing. Just do as you are told" she said.
I looked at Sally who was already arranging the tray and I didn't know when she left me. I ran to her and went to help her since she didn't allow anyone close. As old as Sally is, no one helps her in cooking or dishing the alpha's meal except me whom the alpha instructed.
"Wish me luck" I told Sally, carrying the tray.
Sally shook her head at me. "Tsk" she did, raising her nose.
I got to the Alpha's chamber door. I stood there breathing in and out trying to summon the courage to knock. I even close my eyes in the process.
"Are you planning to give me cold food?" I heard from behind.
I almost jumped out of my skin at the sound of that voice. Jaylen's POV
I woke up this morning expecting to see Sam on the training ground but I didn't. I wanted to send someone to go get her for me but I was caught buying something else. Alvin came to inform me that the lycan king already sent someone to me. I was surprised because I just spoke with the king last night and now he's messanger his already here? Even if he ran in wolf form, he could at least spend three to two days.
I told Alvin to tell the visitor in question that I'll be with him in minutes. I then went to my room to freshen up and change clothes. Since I couldn't meet a visitor in my gym clothes. After that I went to the office and told them to let the visitor in.
Before the person came to my office, I took the precaution of calling the lycan king to confirm if he truly sent someone to me. It was then he explained that the lycan was already on a mission very close to my pack so he is just dropping by to get the documents if what we are doing together. Since that was all he came to do he collected it and said he would take his leave. I offered him some hospitality but he rejected it saying he's in a hurry.
I was seeing the lycan off when I smelt and saw Sam. She was looking so different. Her normal oversized long dress was short and fitted. Even the regal at which she walked was with confidence and power. I wondered what happened to her overnight. She didn't see me so I decided to let her be.
"That's a beautiful one you have there" the lycan whom I didn't bother to know his name said with a lustful look.
I glared at him but said nothing to that end.
"Tell the king we would be expecting his hands next week" I said just to divert his attention from Sam.
I made sure my voice was loud enough for Sam to hear me and I was rewarded because she paused suddenly. When she heard my voice, she quickly ran away to hide. She didn't know that I'd seen her. That made me smirk. I passed by where she was hiding and I could hear her breath.
On my way back, I met Sally and an idea dropped to my heart. I want to have Sam to myself today and in fact that's what I'm going to do. I've never taken a deliberate day off except when Alvin and Ethan force me to and it's mostly weekends but today I'm going to take a sudden break.
"Alpha" Sally bowed.
"Sally, I've been meaning to send someone to call you. I want my breakfast in my chambers. Tell Sam to bring it to me" I said then walked away without another word.
I didn't want to see that her face is always showing she knows what I'm about to do. She's a very smart old woman. Since I was planning to take the day off, I went to my office to tidy up things. I came back to see Sam standing by my door, inhaling and exhaling. I was so happy to see her.
"Now she's here," Hort said.
This was the first time Hort will really warm up to a female. No matter the female I have, he would always lament for his mate. I've noticed that for a while he is calm on the mate stuff and always happy to see Sam. I think he's finally accepting the fact that there's no mate for us. "Are you planning to give me cold food?" I said to her.
She gasps in fear. I wondered why she was so scared. Then immediately I remembered she skipped training. Then I smiled inwards.
"Alpha" she bowed.
Even though she looked changed, she's still the same to me. The shy and fearful girl I met. I opened the door and walked in while she followed me. She placed the tray on the stool and wanted to leave.
"And where do you think you are going?" I asked her as I sat on the bed.
She turned and gave me a fake smile. This content © Nôv/elDr(a)m/a.Org.
"I wasn't going anywhere. I want to go stand there so as to wait for your orders" she lied pointing to the place.
I smirked at her obvious lie. I then started to eat while she stood there almost entering the ground.
"What are you not on the training ground today?"
She tensed up and opened her mouth to say something but nothing came out and she closed it. "Don't I deserve a reply?"
"No Alpha. It's....." She drifted off again.
I was glaring at her dress. I could remember the look on the lycan's face, I felt jealousy building inside of me.
"Were you putting on this short and tight dress that you forgot that you ought to train?" I asked her with a frown.
She looked at her dress as if she didn't notice what I was saying before now. She didn't reply to me. I don't like the mute Sam. I loved the side she showed me when we played together yesternight while she laughed calling me alpha. I just wondered how my name would sound on her lips.
"You are not permitted to wear skimpy dresses that would expose your cleavage" I said with a scolding voice.
With the look on her face, I knew she was wondering what's my business about her dressing. Hort was scolding me for telling her that. He felt I'm scaring the girl. I don't seem to care.
"Now come sit with me" I said tapping the soft bed space beside me.
"Huh" she said as if she didn't hear what I said.
I gave her a stern look and she walked to me briskly. She sat down making sure to leave enough space between us so as not to touch me. The way she was acting seemed so cute. "I've you eating?"
Although I didn't know how the maids are scheduled to eat, I know they do have their breakfast after mine.
"Huh" she said again.
"Make that sound again and I'll make sure you regret it" I said looking firmly at her.
She looked at me briefly, meeting with my eyes which made her shiver and looked at her palm. Looking at her right here, I know I want to have this girl seated here.
"Are you scared?" I asked her.
"Everyone is," she replied and I smiled.
I didn't argue with her because I knew that's the truth. Alvin sometimes stays away from me. I've launched at him before because he questions my order. He was so shocked that day, that for three good days he didn't move close to me. He wouldn't even talk to me. "Even if you are scared of me, at least you are not scared of the food" I stood up going to the fridge in my room to get water.
Sam, seeing me, stood up. "You should have asked me to do that," she said, rushing towards me.
"No need, you are in my room and my guest," I replied without giving her the water.
