Mates But Enemies

Chapter 38: Waterfall.

Chapter 38: Waterfall.

We arrived at the town a few hours later as we spoke about our childhood, and as he kept speaking

flashes of memories passed through eyes. I knew then that I wasn't with the wrong person and he was

speaking the truth all that while. We got down and made our way to my adopted parents house which

was on the hill in the middle of that forest. I had always wondered as to why they had to live so far

away from humanity even though there were lots of people in that town and they were also kind people.

But whenever I asked, they never paid me any attention nor did they ever answer me. It was obvious

they didn't want me to know. We entered the forest and my brother became suspicious and confused

as to where we were going. It was a steep forest and had very old trees but still had fruits and

vegetables in it. Every time I went to the town, some of the people had tried to follow me back to the

place but always stopped on their way and went back. Because they never believed that someone

would stay so far away from town and still survive in there without being killed by wild animals. One

hour forward and Absalom held my hand and asked confused, “Ade, where are we going actually?

Because who on earth would stay so far away from everybody unless they are no human. ” I nodded

and told him that I believed they weren't human because they never actually ate any food or drink any

blood from anything but they had their own food which was a concoction. He looked at me marveled

and asked me that did I know I wasn't living with humans or creatures we knew but still lived with

them? I told him that I even thought they were my biological parents until they told me themselves that I

wasn't one of them and I should go out to the world and live among the people. And also to find my

kind. As we moved on I remembered that they had told me that there was a short cut to the place but I

could only use that place if it was extremely important and might also be the last time I might be coming

there. So I showed my brother another path and told him to follow me, he did irritated and in five

minutes, we stood on top of a large waterfall. He looked at me and back at the waterfall and asked,

“Now what? Don't you dare tell me we are about to jump down that thi...?” Before he could finish his

statement, I took his hand and jumped down into the water, we landed comfortably into the water and

dived inside. We swam for a few minutes with his hand still in mine, till we reached the beginning of

another waterfall and we got up from the water. He hurriedly left my hand and asked combing his hair,

“What's really going on here? You are getting me frustrated. ” I didn't answer and went ahead of him Original from NôvelDrama.Org.

and entered the waterfall a cave appeared in front of me then in it were the shiniest diamonds my eyes

had ever seen. In a way I didn't remember ever seeing one till then, Absalom was still out there so I

went back and pulled him into the cave. He looked at them with his move gaped and I closed it for him

and started laughing out because of the marvelous sight that laid in front of me. He looked back at me

and asked if it was where my adopted parents lived but I shook my head and told him that I believed it

was on top of the cave after this one. Then he me that we should meet them first and maybe they could

tell us about the cave of diamonds. I agreed and we went on. I got to the hut and saw it in veins of

leaves, confused, I walked inside to see everything in its perfect place and clean. Then I saw that they

weren't in the hut at all, Absalom pulled me from the hut as he had not entered and asked confused, “Is

this where you said your parents were living or we are just about to go there?” Then I told him that we

were at the right place but then they weren't home. He looked at the hut and told me that the building

was in ruins and had crumpled to the floor so what was I looking at when I stepped in it? I told him that

he was mistaken and asked him to come inside with me to see their pictures. So I walked back in and

went for it and pointed it to him, surprisingly there was a writing on the back so I read, “We believe you

have by now found your family and is back looking for us, but don't look we are no living things. We

were here to help you fulfill your destiny and we have done all that we were meant to do. What you saw

on your way here is our reward for being humble, build your castle and kingdom on the land on beside

the cave and make your subjects prosper. We leave you with peace, see the oracle if there's something

you want to know. Remember your father's kingdom isn't yours, give it to the more benevolent for it.

And your mate is your mate and nothing can change that. ” I stared at the reading helplessly without

blinking and when I did, everything became clear.
