Mated to my sister’s ugly mate

23

Jessica had no clue what was going on. After scaring off Shadow, she had gone out with Henry that night and spent the night at his house. So she was oblivious to the happenings on social media. From what she understood, the ‘Ugly Gold Digger’ was still a hot topic all over the internet. That is, until Jason called her the next day.

Jessica was still in Henry’s arms when she answered the phone annoyed, “Dad, what’s up? Why did you have to call me this early?”

“Go online and see the mess you’ve created! And how dare you stay out all night. Come home right now!” Jason shouted, followed by a loud crash in the background.

This was the angriest Jason had ever been with her. Although she had messed up before, he had always forgiven her. Jessica had a sinking feeling about this.

After hanging up, she quickly checked online to see what the fuss was about. It was then that she realized her conversation with Shadow had been covertly recorded by paparazzi the whole time.

Her face immediately changed and she clenched her teeth. “These bitches!”

“What’s wrong?” Henry kissed her cheek and asked.

Putting her phone away, Jessica shook her head and replied softly, “Dad called me. Something happened at home, so I have to leave first, okay?”

On the way back, she couldn’t help but think about their time at the restaurant. Shadow still seemed weak and spineless, but there was something different about her. There must be a reason why the reporter was in that shady restaurant in the first place. Was she intentionally making things difficult for her?

Jessica’s face darkened. She dialed Shadow’s number, but no one answered.

On the other end, Shadow saw ‘Sister’ flashing on her phone screen and sneered. She coldly chuckled, placed her phone on the counter, and poured herself a glass of water.

When she returned, her phone was still ringing.

Jessica must be furious right now! She probably wants to destroy her.

“Are you enjoying yourself?” a voice asked.

Her smile instantly faded, and she furrowed her brows. She didn’t need to turn around to know it was Alpha Dominic. He must think she’s happy and came to annoy her.

Putting her phone on silent in her pocket, Shadow picked up her glass and started walking up the stairs. But unfortunately, Alpha Dominic was blocking her way.

Alpha Dominic seemed to be in the mood to play with her. Whenever she moved right, he moved right too. The same happened when she tried moving left. It was like he was intentionally going against her every move!

Shadow was originally in a good mood, but he ruined everything in an instant. She glanced upstairs and then softly asked Alpha Dominic, “What do you want?”

“Do you realize that your family drama is affecting our Lances family?” Alpha Dominic leaned against the wall, a faint smile on his face but seriousness in his eyes.

“Okay,” Shadow replied emotionlessly, looking down. Then she walked past him and headed upstairs.

Alpha Kilian squinted and asked in curiosity, “You don’t seem scared.”

Shadow didn’t want to talk to him, but she couldn’t help defending herself. “I didn’t do anything wrong. Why should I be scared?”

Alpha Kilian didn’t expect her to talk back. Her calmness surprised him, especially in this kind of situation. Most women would panic, and even many men would cower under his gaze. But Shadow not only walked away, she stayed unaffected, as if she had dealt with him before.

Shadow turned and left after speaking. Alpha Kilian watched her back, deep in thought. Had this woman stopped pretending to be foolish?

It seemed so!

Back in her room, Shadow took a deep breath as various thoughts rushed through her mind. In reality, she wasn’t as calm as when facing Alpha Dominic.

She was right. The Lances family had suppressed news about Alpha Kilian. When it started trending, the posts were taken down and accounts were deleted.

She couldn’t help but think about Alpha Kilian. Even now, she couldn’t gauge their thoughts – whether they were satisfied or upset with the outcome.

Shadow took out her phone and saw numerous missed calls, aside from Jessica’s call, the rest were from the Eden family.Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.

Shadow smirked and dialed Lisa’s number.

As soon as the call connected, Lisa immediately said, “Come back immediately!”

“I’m coming,” Shadow pretended to sound anxious and worried.

She definitely wanted to return to the Eden family and witness their reactions.

To see Jessica lose her mind and throw tantrums.

One thing was certain, though – even though she succeeded for now, the Eden family wouldn’t easily admit defeat, especially not Jessica.
