Marry into Money by Accident

Chapter 47

Chapter 47

Lianne was not one to play innocent, especially when it could save her from unnecessary trouble.

She was a nobody in Rosewood and Cece was a Graham, a family among the four most influential

families in Rosewood.

It was easy for Cece to crush her.

If her experience had taught her anything, it was important to read the room to avoid getting pulled into

drama.

Cece did not expect Lianne to be blunt.

Dumbstruck at first, Cece quickly drew close to Lianne and whispered, “At least you know better. I

won’t give you hell so long as you stay out of my business.”

In Zane’s presence, the girl put on a docile face. However, her true colors showed the minute Zane was Exclusive © material by Nô(/v)elDrama.Org.

out of the room.

Lianne was relieved she was a good judge of people and was able to see right through the woman’s

sweet and innocent demeanor, and into the evil lurking within. “Tact is my middle name.”

Satisfied with the reply, Cece looked at Lianne in disdain before keeping pace with Nancy.

Lianne did not quite get girls like Cece. Was it worth it to put up a façade for a man who did not

love her?

“It seems my instructions don’t mean anything to you.

With Zane’s voice sneaking up from behind her, Lianne looked back in fright and met his aggressive

gaze.

Devoted to her job, Lianne poured everything she had into her work. So his disapproval was a downer.

“Mr. Atlas, please let me know of my areas of improvement. I will change for the better.”

Zane raised a brow. “Did I say your work is subpar?”

Lianne responded, “Then what were you referring to?”

He said, “Lunch comes first.”

Lianne followed him into the dining room.

Nancy and Cece were chatting at the dinner table, with Cece mainly the one throwing the questions at

Nancy.

Cece uttered, “We just graduated from college, but I longed for the days we used to run around with

our brothers.”

Nancy pouted. “What is there to long for? We had to cry, beg, and plead until they relented to let us join

them. My brother has never been nice to you. I don’t understand what you like about him.”

Cece answered, “Do you need a reason to like somebody? I have always wanted to be Zane’s bride. I

don’t want to marry anybody but him.”

With Zane walking into the dining room, the pair shut their mouths and were on their best behavior.

The dining table was large enough to seat everybody.

Zane sat at the head of the table, while Lianne picked the seat furthest away from him. She quietly

buried her head in her food.

Lianne was not feeling very hungry after the large portion of cottage pie in the morning and did not take

more than a few bites. Zane had not even started eating by the time she put down her cutlery.

Zane lit a cigarette and stared at Cece aloofly. “Do you think you can marry me simply because you

want to be my bride? Get rid of the unrealistic thoughts before you bring shame to your family.”

Cece bit her lip to fight back the tears. “I’m sorry, Zane… I know you asked for a divorce because the

woman had an affair. For me to confess my feelings now, people would think you got divorced because

of me. I should be more sensitive about the timing, but I can’t help myself. I love you so much that I

want the whole world to know. You don’t have to like me back, but please don’t hurt me for loving you.'”

Lianne was speechless.

Talk about playing mind games.

Nevertheless, a lot of men were oblivious to these games. For all Lianne knew, these men could be

enjoying the attention instead.

Alas, Zane had to burst her bubble. “Drop the act. Get a divorce because of you? Who do you think you

are?”
