Married to the Boss: A Love in Disguise Chapter 81

If Lumma were not to break her relationship with her son, Neal would be the one responsible for paying her medical bills.

Upon realizing this, Neal clapped his hands and exclaimed, “Let’s go now. The sooner, the better.”

After Neal left, the others naturally followed suit.

The troublemakers departed, leaving Lumma slumped back into her chair, feeling defeated.

She had prepared fake bills in advance and exploited Neal’s obsession with money to resolve this major problem. Although she won this time, she couldn’t find any joy in it.

She couldn’t understand why some people in society hold such malicious intent towards women, especially those who are slightly more attractive.

Lumma didn’t even know this young doctor’s name, let alone being familiar with him. To this young doctor, he was just helping someone in need. However, to people like Neal, it seemed like Lumma and the young doctor were engaged in an improper transaction.

Lumma apologetically glanced at the young doctor and said, “I’m sorry for dragging you into this mess.”

The young doctor replied, “No matter what they say about you or your personal life, I don’t care.”

After all, it seemed like he also believed that Lumma’s personal life was not reputable.

Lumma nonchalantly smiled and said, “Indeed, my personal life has nothing to do with you.”

The young doctor was left speechless. This text is © NôvelDrama/.Org.

Dr. Hunter and the others were still in shock. They never expected Lumma, at such a young age, to have such decisive and ruthless methods.

Maria interrupted, “Lumma, it wasn’t our fault, and we shouldn’t be embarrassed. Let’s continue celebrating your birthday, and you can make a wish.”

Lama’s wish was simple, as it was every year. She wished for Maria’s health and long Wife and for her own and her friends’ dreams to come true.

After making her wish, Lumma treated everyone to the cake.

The young male doctor blushed as he handed Lumma a box, saying, “Lumma, this is a personal birthday gift from me to you. I hope you like it.”

He blushed and looked at Lumma. The meaning couldn’t be more obvious.

Lumma was baffled. She didn’t even know him well. What game was he playing?

Lumma declined the gift, but the young doctor became anxious. “Lumma, I really don’t care about your past. Please accept my gift, will you?”

He didn’t care about Lumma’s past…

Her past should never have been a stigma in her life.

Lumma’s gaze turned cold as she couldn’t decide how to refuse the gift. Maria spoke up, “Young man, you’re handsome and have a good job. If Lumma weren’t married, I’d definitely find a matchmaker to propose to you.”

The young doctor was surprised. “Ms. Louis got married at such a young age?”

Maria nodded. “Yes, they’ve been married for over a year now. If they’re not too busy with work to have children, I’m already holding my great-grandchild.”

The young doctor said with a tinge of disappointment, “Congratulations then!”

Maria replied, “Thank you!”

After everyone left, Lumma looked at Maria, and Maria opened her arms. “Lumma, if you want to cry, go ahead and cry. You don’t have to hold it in when you’re with me.”

“Hello, Harry and Ruby.” Maria greeted them but searched around. Even though she

didn’t say it, everyone knew she was looking for her grandson-in-law, Lucas.

“Maria, is this your first time in Red Pine City? When you’re feeling better, we’ll take you out to see the sights.” Harry pushed Maria out, trying to distract her.

Lumma and Ruby carried their luggage behind. Ruby pinched Lumma hard. “You stubborn girl. You know Soethy City is dangerous for you, but you won’t let us go with you. What if you get bullied again?”

Ruby exerted force, causing Lumma to feel a pinch. She cried out in pain and dodged while saying, “I’m sorry. I won’t do it again.”

After attending the Marple family’s wedding anniversary in Hanton City and returning to Red Pine City, Adam was riding in a luxurious car passing through the front lane when he looked up and saw a familiar, slender figure.

Lumma was wearing a black coat today, and her hair, which she usually tied up in a bun, was let down and draped over her shoulders in a lazy yet s***y manner. Her voice was sweet and soft, quite different from her usual composed and dignified tone at work.

Adam had no idea that his assistant had such a tender and lovely side.

“Mr. Hills, isn’t that Lumma?” Leonard also noticed Lumma and waved at her with a smile. “What a coincidence to run into you here, Lumma!”

Hearing her name being called, Lumma looked up and saw Leonard and Adam’s car. She had to approach them to say hello.

Adam gazed as Lumma approached him. She drew nearer and nearer, and he could see her more clearly. As she got closer, he noticed the weariness etched on her face.

He had intended to ask if she was feeling unwell, but before he could say anything, she greeted him. “Hello, Mr. Hills! Hello, Mr. Davies!”

Her voice had regained its usual professional tone without a trace of the softness from earlier.

Adam nodded and averted his gaze.
