Meeting Anderson
Marissa closed and got out of the cafe to the address Alexander had sent to her.
“I really can’t believe I am doing this.” she said to herself.
She sighed…
Took a deep breath and walked to where she could get a cab to the address.
Marissa managed to hail a cab, and she gave the driver the address that Alexander had provided. As the cab pulled away from the curb, Marissa couldn’t help but feel anxiety and excitement.
Why was she feeling that way? She thought.
She was about to enter a fake marriage with a complete stranger who has serious character issues, but she had to if she wanted to save her brother.
She had a short time left to send the money or she would lose her brother.
So she arrived at the location and paid the cab driver. The driver left and she was left alone on a dark bushy road.
“Or could he be a serial killer who uses fake marriage contracts to lure women to kill them by promising to give them money?” she asked herself.
She could hear the sounds of frogs.
Ribbit!
Rustling…
“This is getting really creepy?” she told herself.
She brought out her phone and dialed Alexander’s number.
It rang but he didn’t pick. So she tried it again and he picked it up.
“Where the hell are you? I’ve been close to the address you gave me and honestly I’m beginning to doubt this agreement of a thing. What if you’re some serial killer and you lured me here to kill me.” she said.
“Hahahahaha….” he laughed on the phone.
“You think this is funny huh! I’m in the middle of nowhere and you are laughing?” she said, anger evident in her voice.
“Don’t you worry, scaredy cat, my driver is coming to pick you up.” he said and hung up.
“You-” she wanted to say something, but he had hung up the call on her.
“What a rude jerk!” she yelled.
After a few minutes, she saw a car approaching and wasn’t sure she should wave to show where she was, so she observed it closely until she saw Alexander’s driver.
She had to be careful so that someone won’t know where she is and then kidnap her.
Oh the horror!
She waved at the driver and he alighted from the car and went over to meet her.
“Miss Marissa?” the driver called out.
“Yes, that’s me.” she answered.
“I apologize that I took so long to come and get you.” he apologized.
“It’s fine. You’re here now and that’s all that matters.” she said.
The driver walked towards the car and opened the door for her to enter.
She entered and sat down and they zoomed off.
While in the car, Marissa was curious so she decided to ask.
“Sorry sir, I didn’t ask you your name.” she said.
“Oh! My name is Olsen ma’am.” Olsen replied.
“That’s a very nice name sir. And how long have you been working for that prick? I mean your boss?” she asked. This content © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.
“Um… three years, ma’am.” he said.
“Do you enjoy working for him?” she asked.
“Well…. nobody really enjoys their jobs nowadays but we just have to if we want to provide for our families. Don’t you think?” he said.
“You’re right, Mr. Olsen.” she said. “So where are we going Mr. Olsen? Are we going to his office?”
“No, Ma’am. We are going to his apartment.” he replied.
“His apartment?” she asked, a look of surprise written on her face as she adjusted herself on the seat.
Yes, Ma’am. Alexander has many apartments under his name and this one is one of them. He felt it would be weird in his office or restaurant for you two to meet. So he felt this was safer and more secretive.” he said.
“Alright….” she said.
“Don’t you worry, Ma’am. You’re safe. Mr. Alexander might be a rude person, but he always keeps his word and pays well.” he said.
“Oh… really?” she said.
“Yes, ma’am,” he answered.
“Well, Mr. Olsen, I’ll hold you to your word.” she said, with a smile.
Mr Olsen smiled as well through the center mirror.
They arrived at Alexander’s apartment.
Marissa followed Mr. Olsen out of the car and into the building once he has parked the car. She couldn’t help but feel curious and a bit nervous.
Alexander’s behavior had been so unpredictable, and she still wasn’t entirely sure what she had gotten herself into.
As they entered the apartment, Marissa was surprised by how nice it looked.
The place was decorated well and had a great view of the city through big windows.
“Wow, this place is fancy,” Marissa said, feeling a bit out of place.
Mr. Olsen agreed, saying, “Yes, it’s really nice. Mr. Alexander likes fancy things.”
Marissa sat down in the living room, and Mr. Olsen said he would let Alexander know she was here.
While she waited, Marissa couldn’t help but wonder how this meeting would go. She had agreed to this strange arrangement because of her brother’s surgery, but now that she was here, it all felt so strange.
A few minutes later, Alexander walked in, looking confident and a bit arrogant as usual.
He glanced at Marissa and then spoke to Mr. Olsen,
“Thank you, Mr. Olsen. You may leave now.”
Mr. Olsen nodded and exited the apartment, leaving Marissa alone with Alexander.
As Marissa waited, she couldn’t help but wonder how this meeting would go. She had agreed to this unusual arrangement out of desperation, but now that she was here, it all felt so surreal.
Just then another person entered the room and it was none other than Alexander’s lawyer.
When he saw Marissa, he smiled and walked towards her and sat beside her.
Marissa seemed a bit scared and wondered why he came to sit beside her.
“So you must be Marissa Preah,” he said.
“Yes….. and who are you?” she asked, a bit of fear in her voice as she looked at the stranger.
“Oh! Please pardon my manners.”
